Hello, I'm MixedCalibur, or you could just call me Will. This is my first post on the Smogon forums so I hope to make it a good one. Anway, I'm a complete newcomer in Ubers, but I've been testing this team in Pokemon Online, and it's doing fairly decent. Any help is greatly appreciated!
At a glance:
The whole idea of this team is to hit hard and force switches. You won't see many of these guys OHKO anything without help. The goal is to setup entry hazards, maybe a leech seed, and take em down chunk by chunk.
Let's take a look in-depth. Changes in bold.
Primeape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 ATK 252 SPE 4 HP
Nature: Jolly
- Close Combat
- U-Turn
- Ice Punch
- Punishment
This thing likes to deal the first blow. There are almost no scarf leads in Ubers, bar Kyogre, and Primeape wants to hit and run. U-turn for those psychics, Close Combat for STAB and to take down all those steels and Darkrai in One to Two hits. Ice Punch for Rayquaza and Shaymin, then Punishment for Mewtwo and Calm Mind Lugia. There's nothing in ubers that Primeape can't touch, and that's what makes him so useful.
Mewtwo @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SPATK 252 SPE 4 HP
Nature: Timid
- Calm Mind
- Taunt
- Ice Beam
- Aura Sphere
This thing has proven to be a dangerous late game sweeper. After a few calm minds, not even the bulky Latias can take an Ice Beam at full health. Taunt is there to stop walls and others from trying to wear down Mewtwo with toxic or more specifically at Lugia, roost stalling. BeamSphere provides great coverage, and Mewtwo tends to have an easy sweep once his direct counters are gone. I chose Mewtwo because I've seen him work fabulously with Primeape AND Dialga both, helping to cover each other's weaknesses.
Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP 112 ATK 144 defense
Nature: Relaxed
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Explosion
- Payback
This guy is here to set up my hazards. Payback is chosen over Gyro Ball because it'll hit Giratina-O hard, and hit Mewtwo hard on the switch. This was going to originally be my lead, but I decided against it. The goal is to switch into a physical attacker, then get up as much as possible. I also like switching into walls and setting up then, the ideal switch would be Deoxys-S. Rapid spin helps Shaymin get in with ease, and I'm still debating on whether or not to use Explosion. I went with Explosion over Rapid Spin because my team doesn't really need the spin support, and forry exploding is my only chance at taking out Groudon.
Dialga @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SPATK 136 ATK 120HP
Nature: Quiet
- Draco Meteor
- Brick Break
- Thunder
- Fire Blast
Dialga loves to absolutely decimate physical walls like Lugia, with enough attack to handle Blissey. It also has enough bulk to take a few hits, being able to finish off already weakened opponents. The coverage is so great on Dialga, I decided to stick an expert belt on him over Life Orb. The reason I picked Dialga over Palkia is the typing, I hate that Palkia is part Water. So, enter: Dialga.
Palkia @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SPATK 252 SPE 4 ATK
Nature: Hasty
- Draco Meteor
- Outrage
- Surf
- Thunder
I've realized now that Groudon is completely unnecessary and does nothing for this team. I lacked speed and I was left powerless against the likes of priority users like Rayquaza and Linoone (I'M NOT KIDDING THAT THING RAPED ME) and so, Scarf Palkia seems like the perfect fit. This thing is here with it's monstrous base 150 Special attack to take a huge chunk out of ANYTHING bar Blissey. Even then Outrage is going to do quite a lot.
Shaymin-S @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SPATK 252 SPE 4 SPDEF
Nature:
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
Shaymin likes to wear down the opponent with constant subbing and health stealing, then when given the chance, hitting em for the KO. I chose Shaymin because he fit the role of sub-seeder fabulously. This thing is Kyogre's worst nightmare if switched in correctly, and he's caused my opponents a lot of stress and frustration, which is something I strive for of course.

And that's it! Again, be gentle, this is my first ever Ubers... encounter.
