  6. I updated my internet speed to 400 MB/s. Prior to that, when I would log into Showdown, it would never have disconnection problems what soever at 200 MB/s. After the upgrade, now I have disconnects every 5-10 minutes, sometimes when I'm idle and lost connection because the timer never tells me I forfeited cuz of DC. Is there any reasoning for this, and how can I fix that? I already test my internet speeds on other devices and never had any issues.

Hello, I have a problem,
My operating system is Windows 10,
My web browser is Firefox (version 77.0.1),
Yes, I tried on Microsoft Edge, and there was the same problem, except that it took longer to connect (15-20 minutes)
I think it started around January-February,
My usernames: JEAN JOHN / LeFuturTopLadder
My error messages are: You have been disconnected - possibly because the server was restarted. As soon as I try to connect it sends me this error message.
I hope you can help me solve my problem!

  5. Anytime I import a team from pokepaste, it populates ALL the information for each mon in their items slot. Recently I got a laptop and have been playing on that, and importing works fine. The problem is that teams import perfectly fine on my laptop and I play with them, I switch over to my phone and those same teams still have the issue. Even though I never imported them through the phone
Edit- just tried it in firefox on my phone and yep, same thing . Maybe its how android formats copy and pastes

  6. I don't know if it's an ISP problem or not, but on my default connection, I can't connect to showdown login nor smogon forums. I keep getting the "An insecure SockJS connection may not be initiated from a page loaded over HTTPS" error. If I VPN however, I'm able to connect just fine.
Note that it was also fine yesterday on my default connection, it only started happening today

I have not been able to identify why this occurs, but I have seen users being able to connect after they clear cookies. Try backing up your teams and clearing cookies for the site. Back your teams up first or they WILL BE LOST.

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, clearing cookies for both showdown nor smogon.com didn't help. I'm an IT guy myself but I've been staying away from SSL stuff precisely because of these weird scenarios lol. Just want to add again that I'm also getting the same problem accessing the Smogon forums at all, but not sure if they're related even if these forums is where showdown support is.

I guess I'll keep VPN'ing for now to access, but I'm hoping this gets sorted out soon so that we don't have to go through the trouble of changing the connections lol. Thanks again.

EDIT: idk if it might help; on the VPN service I'm using, certain countries' servers also experience the same problems as my local connection where I can hop on Showdown but can't connect + can't access smogon forums. I have to pick a server where this doesn't happen

EDIT2: For whatever magical reason, so I was restarting my PC, but not to try and connect to Showdown, I was just installing some new software and after the restart, both Smogon and Showdown now load properly. /scratches head
So clear cookies -> access didn't work, but clear cookies -> restart -> access worked somehow

On the desktop software, when attempting to paste a team into the importer, right click--> paste doesn't do anything. I have to press ctrl-v.

3. Safari (on my phone)
4. It's been a problem for months I think

6. I think the problem is on the wifi connection we have at home. I can't seem to connect to the Showdown server whenever I'm using it, as using my phone data or connecting to a different wifi network (when I'm at a friend's place or at my dorm) it seems to work.

I actually tried clearing the cookies (after backing up my teams) and that allowed me to connect to the server and get a random battle in, I even got to build a team and get a game of BSS after. but once I refresh the site I stop being able to connect the server. So I guess what's happening is the moment I have cookies on the site I stop being able to connect?? Is there anything I can check? Thank you :)

This has been fixed in a patch about 30 minutes ago, you will need to update.

1. Windows 10 Pro v1909

2. Microsoft Edge Chromium v83.0.478.64

3. I've also tried Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and the Pokémon Showdown desktop version. Same thing happens in the last 2 ones and, in the first 2, Showdown is in bold instead of italic.

4. As far as i remember, since i bought a new computer.

5. Whilpull

6. Almost all of the text in Pokémon Showdown is in italic (when using Edge, Opera or the desktop version of Pokémon Showdown) or bold (when using Internet Explorer or Opera).
Considering it happens in every browser i try, it's probably a problem of my Windows, but it only happens in Showdown, so it's weird. This problem doesn't happen in any other website (for example, here, in the Smogon forum, the text is normal).

1). IOS
2). Safari
3). Have also tried chrome on phone and desktop
4). New Modem and routers installed 2 days ago, since then
5). Piper13
6). Can not log in when connected to WiFi. All buttons stuck saying loading, excluding team builder and joining lobby. Can log in using LTE but disconnects too frequently to use consistently. The choose name option under settings brings up message saying “this server is requesting an invalid login key. This probably means that you are either not connected to a server, or the server is set up incorrectly.”

4. Today. And my last pull from GitHub was about a week ago.
5. Gliwick
6. On my server, users can't pm to each other, and get the following message instead: "The command "/pm" does not exist. To send a message starting with "/pm", type "//pm"". This happens to every user including me, the admin. What caused this change? Was there some client update? How do I fix it?

UPD: Server update fixed the issue. Question revoked.

Hey, I can’t connect to my Showdown account when I use Safari on my iPhone. I can still play and even choose usernames, but when I type in my password to login and then tap return nothing happens. Is there another way to login? It used to work before so I don’t know why it isn’t now.

3. I have tried the application and still run into the same problem
4. Happened yesterday (Tuesday, 26th August)

6. Every time I go onto Showdown on either Chrome or the Application, every but the Teambuilder and Ladder options are inaccessible. They all just have loading... in place. The problem is clearly with stemming from my PC but I'm unable to pinpoint the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Ads on mobile PS are preventing me from changing battle formats and this happens frequently which can force a couple refreshes before the ad places itself elsewhere (or it chooses to return to this spot later), and clicking the X just turns the ad into a white window that says "thanks, we'll stop showing these ads" and doesn't fix the issue at hand. I'm using the most up-to-date version of Google Pixel if that matters

This is an issue that has been answered before in this thread, and I think I now have a fairly good idea of what is happening which I will try to explain, but I have been so far unable to resolve it by following the advice given during previous occurrences.
  1. Operating system: OS X, can also occur on iOS
  2. Web Browser: Firefox
  3. Have you tried other browsers? Can occurs on Safari
  4. When did this problem start? Wednesday this week
  5. Your PS username: CringeMeta
  6. And of, course, your problem: "PS is under heavy load and cannot accommodate your connection right now." error
This started occurring on Wednesday of this week. When I saw the error, I thought Showdown just had too many users concurrently connected or something, so after waiting a couple of hours, trying and failing again, I left it. The next day (Thursday), I briefly was able to log on using my phone at work and thought it was resolved. Then when I got home on Thursday evening the error occurred again.

On Friday morning, I tried to log in at home again from my phone; the error continued to occur. At this point, I searched "heavy load" in the Pokemon Showdown server source repository and realised that, contrary to what the error message implies about it being a temporary problem with the server's hosting, I had most likely been somehow IP banned for 'connection flooding'. I tried and succeeded in connecting to Showdown by 4G instead of Wifi which seemed to confirm it.

I run a bot on Showdown (username: Iolanthe) from a separate PC with the same IP which I realised was most likely what was considered to be flooding the connection, by trying and failing to reconnect during the IP ban. Still, this is a kind of catch 22 situation that doesn't explain how the ban was initiated; if it had been able to connect in the first place, it would not have been initiating a high frequency of further connection requests, and I have operated this bot in basically the same way for around a year and a half without encountering this problem before. If I had to guess, at what happened here, after the server restart this week, maybe Showdown was reinitiated in some unusual, piecemeal way in which, for a period, it was possible for users to pass through checkIpBanned without actually being able to log in, racking up a large amount of connection requests(???)

Anyway, I turned off my bot - and I can and will adjust the reconnection speed so that it shouldn't trigger the connection flood condition if this situation occurs again. I went to work, came back, tried to login into Showdown and still got the 'heavy load' error. I searched for somewhere to report this situation and found this thread. Several users previously reported similar things and received the advice to wait a few hours, so I left it again and went to sleep. However, today (over 24 hours after turning off my bot) the error is still occurring.

Thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT: It has now cleared. In case other users encounter this problem in future, it seems to take at least 48 hours to clear. Currently it seems like the maximum number of connections a particular IP is allowed to make is 499 in a 30 minute period.

This is the same problem I'm having today, also I tried connecting via data and through a VPN in case my college blocked the site and no changes.

EDIT 8/29/2020 12:45 PM: Checked just now and the Showdown page is up and running again.

Same issue for me. I have tried on Chrome, Edge, and IE with the same result. Just says "Loading" everywhere. Teambuilder works though. For me this just started happening about 30-45 minutes ago.
