Pet Mod TeraMax [Phase 3 - Slate 1: Gen 8 Home]

:sv/flutter-mane:
Name: Flutter Mane
Type: Ghost / Psychic
Abilities: Protosynthesis
Stats: 75 / 65 / 65 / 125 / 125 / 115
New Moves: +Psychic, Zen Headbutt
Removed Moves: Moonblast
Justification: No more Ghost/Fairy and mildly less minmaxed stats = no longer the most goofy mon allowed in OU since the last one. slightly bulkier on physical side and still has great power, but comes at the cost of a much worse defensive typing and lower stats.

Veto Time!

:sv/flutter mane:
Name: Flutter Mane
Type:

Abilities: Unchanged
Stats: 85 / 55 / 55/ 105 / 135 / 135
New Moves: Taunt, Roost
Removed Moves: Calm Mind
Justification: I think Flutter Mane typing is nice for the meta, but its biggest issue was both 1. Its ability to use Calm Mind to just bypass mons that would otherwise check it, and 2. its incredibly minmaxed stats. This attempt at nerfing Flutter Mane essentially keeps its role of fast fairy type while heavily reducing its firepower, as well as increasing its bulk to make it are more versatile mon like it is in VGC.
I feel like with access to Booster Energy, Flutter Mane may be too consistent of a revenge killer with such a high speed tier. It being able to go Modest and still comfortably obtain a speed boost to revenge kill basically anything makes it a bit more powerful than one soukd assume. I recommend removing 10 Speed points and placing them elsewhere.

:sv/palafin: :sv/palafin-hero:

Name: Palafin
Type: Water
Abilities: Zero to Hero
Stats: 90 / 65 / 67 / 63 / 57 / 90 || 90/155/92/116/82/90
New Moves: Agility
Removed Moves:
Justification: an overall all stats down will inhibit it, along with the fundamental change to zero to hero to encourage more stationary sets rather than banded wave crash jet punch

Now switches inbetween forms each time Palafin enters the field

:sv/iron-bundle:

Name: Iron Bundle
Type: Ice/Steel
Abilities: Quark Drive
Stats: 56 / 80 / 114 / 124 / 60 / 136
New Moves: Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Steel Wing, Shift Gear, Rapid Spin, Light Screen, Reflect
Removed Moves: Hydro Pump, Flip Turn, Rain Dance, Water Pulse, Whirlpool,
Justification: Makes it unable to touch steel and fire types, but still has silly bundle shenanigans available. Rapid spin was added to give it something after losing its main stab, along with screens to make it a usable screener
Should note that the best Palafin sets are Bulky Set up variants, so while the nerf def makes phazing a much bigger drawback, I still think a -10 in attack to its Hero form is needed.

Same argument for Iron Bundle as I made for Geko's Flutter Mane.

:ss/iron-bundle:
Name: Iron Bundle
Type: Ice / Water
Stats: 56 / 124 / 114 / 80 / 60 / 136
Abilities: Quark Drive
New Moves: Liquidation
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Swapping IB to physical does a lot to fix it. Has to go mixed if it wants to run a (much weaker) Freeze-Dry, and the power drop from Hydro Pump to Liquidation is really significant - Ice Beam to Ice Spinner is less significant but still a hit too. Bulky Waters are a lot more able to check it now.
Same thing here, I just think once you clock 130 Speed and above, it makes it extremely difficult to justify any form of set up / Scarfers or even certain weather sweepers, as a simple Booster Energy basically invalidates any other form of revenge kilking on Pokemon since they are as fast and powerful as they are. If you are THAT fast, imo you have to give up alot somewhere else and most subs haven't really done so. (Orangesodapop Gekokeso should look here as well, in case you want to explore other avenues to justify the very high speed ceiling that your subs would set, instead of speed nerfs)

:ss/annihilape:
Name: Annihilape
Type:

Stats: 130 / 115 / 70 / 75 / 50 / 95 | 535
Abilities: Vital Spirit / Cursed Body / Intimidate
New Moves: Knock Off, Strength Sap
Rage Fist - +25 power for each time the user was hit, max 350 BP. Damages itself for HP equal to the BP of this move.
Removed Moves: Bulk Up
Justification: weird offensive pivot or wallbreaker
I believe Annihilape is too bulky in combination with Intimidate and Strength Sap. Please remove one of these options.

:sv/flutter-mane:
Name: Flutter Mane
Type: Ghost / Psychic
Abilities: Protosynthesis
Stats: 65 / 85 / 65 / 115 / 125 / 115
New Moves: +Psychic, Zen Headbutt
Removed Moves: Moonblast
Justification: No more Ghost/Fairy and no more minmaxed stats. Honestly, this might be kind of not good anymore because of the changed stats and worse type, but it's also Flutter Mane so it deserves it.
Not a veto so you don't have to change anything, just saying, you don't have to nerf the Pokémon into the dirt. If you truly believe that your sub won't be viable at all, I suggest doing some form of rework on it. (This is a free boost to edit this sub and this alone)

Lastly this is just in general, I think if you remove Strong Jaw off Dracovish, it's already a balanced boy, so I don't think nerfing the move AND removing the ability is necessary. PalpitoadChamp

Subs have 24 Hours from this post to be edited or they will not be eligible come voting. Any sub not explicitly mentioned is not allowed to be changed. Good luck!

Winners!
:ss/darmanitan-galar::ss/darmanitan-galar-zen:
Name: Darmanitan-Galar
Type:
|

Stats: 105 / 140 / 55 / 30 / 55 / 95 (Base) | 105 / 55 / 65 / 120 / 65 / 130 (Zen)
Abilities: Gorilla Tactics* | HA: Zen Mode*
Gorilla Tactics - Same effects as in standard, but disables your item slot.
Zen Mode - Transforms at the start of the turn if it selects a special move.
New / Changed Moves: Tera Blast, Ice Spinner, Ice Shard, Lava Plume
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification: Gorilla Tactics gets a massive caveat to it's usage, essentially forgetting an item slot, which makes the idea that it can either stack Band boosts or run Scarf into a liability, and it will be perma weak to hazards too, keeping it in check. On the flip side, Zen Mode gives teams a past paced offensive breaker with a different alignment being faster and specially biased. 130 Speed is high but isn't something too much to handle, and 120 unboosted can revenge kill many threats but may feel left out as a strict wallbreaker, especially with slim picking coverage wise.

:ss/Flutter-Mane:
Name: Flutter Mane
Type:

Stats: 65 / 95 / 55 / 115 / 135 / 105
Abilities: Protosynthesis
New / Changed Moves: Bug Buzz, U-turn, Skitter Smack, Quiver Dance, First Impression, Rage Powder, Giga Drain, Leech Life, Bug Bite, Struggle Bug, Will-O-Wisp, Morning Sun
Removed Moves: Moonblast, Mystical Fire, Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Charm, Misty Terrain
Justification: I did it. I made a bug. Flutter Mane being a Bug type makes so much sense I had to implement it into the mon itself, and what's the best way to guarantee you're Bug type is viable? Grant it Quiver Dance! Now Flutter can be a cool set up sweeper held in check by it not really having that spectacular of a movepool. It can basically set up on any special attacker thiugh, which will prove quite useful of a trait to have. Its stat spread can also lead to some....colorful interactions with Booster Energy in Sun.
:sv/Palafin::sv/palafin-hero:
Name: Palafin-Zero | Palafin-Hero
Type: Water | Water / Fighting
Stats: 100 / 70 / 72 / 53 / 62 / 100 | 100 / 100 / 135 / 83 / 92 / 60
Abilities: Zero to Hero (Adds the fighting type as well as changing its stats.)
New Moves: Superpower
Removed Moves: Bulk Up, Close Combat
Justification: Vaporemons Crab reference. Made Palafin into less of a straight offensive pressence, now its more of a very serviceable tank, especially with the speed nerf. Great bulk and movepool might make it a common dynamax recipient, but its power has been decreased to the point that defensive answers are significantly easier to find.
:ss/iron bundle:
Name: Iron Bundle
Type:

Stats: 56 / 92 / 114 / 116 / 64 / 128
Abilities: Quark Drive
New / Changed Moves: Surf, Defog, Haze, Destiny Bond, Fake Out
Removed Moves: Freeze-Dry, Hydro Pump
Justification: Without Freeze-Dry, Bundle can't hit Waters at all, without Hydro Pump it doesn't have a ludicrously powerful STAB move, and with slightly less Special Attack it won't hit as hard with the moves it does have. Also is very slightly slower, still being super fast, the 3rd fastest relevant mon behind Dragapult and Barraskewda, but now it's outsped by 70 Speed Scarfers. Defog gives it a nice bit of utility to go along with stuff like Encore and Taunt. Destiny Bond and Fake Out are just a couple interesting moves with very limited niches that Delibird learns that Bundle currently doesn't.
:sv/dracovish:
Name: Dracovish
Type: Water/Dragon
Abilities: Water Absorb / Regenerator (H: Sand Rush)
Stats: 90 / 90 / 100 / 70 / 80 / 75 (Unchanged)
New Moves: Ice Spinner, Tera Blast
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Looses the biggest problem in Strong Jaw for a slightly weak power output. Gets Regen so it can remain healthy while blasting off huge attacks.
:ss/annihilape:
Name: Annihilape
Type:

Stats: 130 / 115 / 70 / 75 / 50 / 95 | 535
Abilities: Vital Spirit / Cursed Body / Iron Fist
New Moves: Knock Off, Strength Sap
Rage Fist - +25 power for each time the user was hit, max 350 BP. Damages itself for HP equal to the BP of this move.
Removed Moves: Bulk Up
Justification: weird offensive pivot or wallbreaker
Discuss the winners and how they will impact the current metagame. Discussion Slate will last 24 Hours.

:darmanitan-galar: Base doesn't seem like it will retain much viability now that its item gets disabled, but Zen does scare me a bit. Its hard to switch special walls into it cause it can just predict a switch and hit them with a superpower or earthquake on its base form, but considering how its walled by water types it can touch unless it teras, how its physical coverage might need some attack investment as well for mixed sets, as well as regular darm's horrendous defensive typing it should not be too outlandish to check.
:Flutter Mane: Looks cool, kinda wish it was physically bulky instead of specially bulky since its typing actually makes its a phenomenal anti-tusk spinblocker but it does have its nice traits. Of course the main appeal of it is Quiver Dance which should hopefully not be too overwhelming due to its stats and weak offensive typing.
:Palafin-hero: Already wrote about it in my sub post but I will add that its still a great bulky mon that should hopefully bring defensive stability to the tier, as well as being a decent Dynamax lategame cleaner.
:Iron Bundle: Nice revenge killer, retains the cooler aspects of Bundle while getting rid of anything that seems too overbearing, Tera shouldn't be an issue considering how its power output is also reduced.
:Dracovish: Still iffy about this one. Sure losing Strong Jaw makes this significantly easier to switch in, but Sand Rush Tera Water Vish still seems a bit concerning for my taste. I guess it will have a harder time dealing with Gigantamaxed mons at least.
:annihilape: Strength Sap is weird but this thing can no longer setup and wreak havoc, it might still be a great Dynamax user but nothing too broken considering this hilariously kills itself using its signature move.

Slate 2: Treasures of Ruin

:ss/chien-pao::ss/chi-yu::ss/ting-lu::ss/wo-chien:

Very powerful legendaries that were introduced in Gen 9, the Treasures of Ruin all have a very controversial history in the tier. One was quickbanned, one was suspect tested, one is fine in OU and one is dueling in the depths of lower tiers. Let's try and get all of these Pokémon to TeraMax OU mainstays!

Restrictions

:chien-pao::chi-yu::ting-lu::wo-chien:
- Must keep same BST
- Must be part Dark
- Must want to primarily use their Ruin ability

You are free to edit the Ruin abilities for balance reasons.

Removed Moves: None
Justification: live wo chien reaction. No more 4x U-turn weakness and having an actual offensive stat + a good way to cause chip with Toxic really helps out everyone's favorite snail.

Abilities: Tablets of Ruin
Stats: 85 / 95 / 100 / 85 / 135 / 70 (570)
New Moves: Parting Shot, Sappy Seed
Justification: compresses seed and damage in one, also gets pivoting to make it a good def pivot

:ss/ting-lu:
Name: Ting-Lu
Type: Dark / Rock
Abilities: Vessel of Ruin
Stats: 155 / 125 / 80 / 55 / 110 / 45 (570)
New Moves: Accelerock, Head Smash, Rock Blast, Power Gem, Diamond Storm, Smack Down, Sukcer Punch, Superpower
Justification: tinglu as it is is boring af so lets do something insane and make it a dual priority special tank lol

:ss/chien-pao:
Name: Chien-Pao
Type: Dark / Ice
Abilities: Sword of Ruin
Stats: 80 / 90 / 80 / 120 / 65 / 135 (570)
New Moves: Freeze-Dry, Drill Run, U-Turn
Removed Moves: Swords Dance
Justification: more specially oriented but can use drill run/sacred sword to hit the likes of kingambit, pex, etc

:ss/chi-yu:
Name: Chi-Yu
Type: Dark / Fire
Abilities: Beads of Ruin
Stats: 55 / 120 / 80 / 95 / 120 / 100 (570)

Removed Moves: Nasty Plot
Justification: another mixed attacker this time with a physical slant who can use ep as good coverage

Stats: 55 / 70 / 80 / 135 / 125 / 105 (570)
New Moves: Knock Off
Removed Moves:
Justification: Chi-yu but with nowhere near the power that it had before, however, its new ability makes it so that overheat never misses, Focus Blast is significantly more reliable, and can also meme with Inferno if you want. To compensate the power loss it now gets a bit more speed to bypass all pesky 100 speed mons and make it a decent Nasty Plot sweeper.

Justification: bulky slow pivot with a new typing

Name: Wo-Chien
Type: Grass / Dark
Ability: Tablets of Ruin
Stats: 100 / 95 / 120 / 85 / 135 / 45 (570 BST)
New Moves: Toxic, Spikes, Synthesis, Jungle Healing
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Wo-Chien still has a awful typing, but receives a gigantic bulk boost to help make up for it, alongside several tools that actually give it something to do on a team and two different options for recovery.

Name: Chien-Pao
Type: Ice / Dark
Ability: Sword of Ruin
Stats: 80 / 110 / 80 / 100 / 90 / 120 (570 BST)
New Moves: Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Nasty Plot
Removed Moves: Sucker Punch
Justification: Pao loses Speed (why did this gen introduce like five different things with 135-136 speed) and some raw power in exchange for the ability to go mixed if it wants. Sucker Punch was also a key removal so it has to rely on the weaker Ice Shard for its priority. Strongly dislikes the new Palafin.

Name: Ting-Lu
Type: Ground / Dark
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Stats: 155 / 55 / 125 / 110 / 80 / 45 (570 BST)
New Moves: Parting Shot, Scorching Sands
Removed Moves: Spikes
Justification: Ting-Lu is in a fine position, so here's a weird option. No more Spikes (mostly to encourage Wo-Chien's use if it wins), but it swaps over to a special attacker instead, which means it loses a bit of power but avoids contact on its moves. Parting Shot also makes it a very strong pivot, and Scorching Sands makes it even more of a nightmare for physical attackers.

Name: Chi-Yu
Type: Fire / Dark
Ability: Beads of Ruin
Stats: 55 / 90 / 90 / 125 / 120 / 100 (570 BST)
New Moves: Scald
Removed Moves: Nasty Plot, Flame Charge
Justification: Nice and simple. Not as much blowout potential, no more quick and easy setup, but it picks up a new coverage move in exchange.

All right, time for me to make a controversial change to another Pet Mod.
Tablets of Ruin / Sword of Ruin / Vessel of Ruin / Beads of Ruin

Before: Active Pokemon without this ability have their Attack / Defense / Special Attack / Special Defense multiplied by 0.75
After: All active Pokemon have their Attack / Defense / Special Attack / Special Defense multiplied by 0.75

This simple change means that these Pokemon's stats are affected by their own abilities. Chi-Yu and Chien-Pao are now going to be a lot more scared of taking hits on their lowered defenses, and Ting-Lu and Wo-Chien are not going to be using offensive moves as effectively from their lowered attacks. Just this change alone should neuter the two Ruiners banned to Ubers, and will have very little effect on the wall that is Ting-Lu.

:Chien-Pao::chi-yu::Ting-Lu::Wo-Chien:
:sv/Chien-Pao:
Name: Chien-Pao
Type: Dark / Ice
Ability: Ice Body / Sword of Ruin
Stats: 75 / 110 / 100 / 100 / 60 / 125 (-5/-10/+20/+10/-5/-10)
New Moves: Chilling Water, Foul Play, Freeze Dry, Ice Beam, Icicle Spear, Memento, Nasty Plot, Shadow Ball
Removed Moves:
Justification:
This ice dog is no longer nearly as fast, and while it hits almost as hard it cannot take a hit nearly as well thanks to the change to its bulk and its ability mentioned above. Note that, even with the increase to its defense by 20 points, after the Sword of Ruin being applied it actually has a lower defense.
:sv/Chi-Yu:
Name: Chi-Yu
Type: Dark / Fire
Ability: Flame Body / Beads of Ruin
Stats: 60 / 100 / 75 / 120 / 125 / 90 (+5/+20/-5/-15/+5/-10)
New Moves: Fiery Dance, Fiery Wrath, Fire Lash, Infernal Parade, Mystical Fire, Parting Shot, Shadow Ball, Work Up
Removed Moves: Lava Plume, Nasty Plot
Justification: With Nasty Plot removed from its kit, and a solid reduction to its Special Attack and Speed, Chi-Yu should be a lot more bearable. Now, it has a lot more diverse tools in its kit, meaning it won't be a nuclear option like it currently is. Work Up as a tool to boost your Attack (and the only reliable tool it has to boost its Special Attack) could allow mixed sets to be a viable option for it.
:sv/Ting-Lu:
Name: Ting-Lu
Type: Dark / Ground
Ability: Clear Body / Vessel of Ruin
Stats: 160 / 100 / 120 / 75 / 75 / 40 (+5/-10/-5/+20/-5/-5)
New Moves: Ancient Power, Assurance, Brick Break, Curse, Double Edge, Focus Blast, Gyro Ball, Head Smash, Headlong Rush, Iron Head, Knock Off, Meteor Beam, Power Gem, Roar, Scorching Sands, Shadow Ball, Smack Down, Superpower
Removed Moves: Memento, Whirlwind
Justification: Ting Lu is very good at being a passive Pokemon thanks to its insane bulk. The addition of moves like Curse to its kit still gives it the potential for defensive sets to still be useful, while also helping power up its strong Body Press. Whirlwind has now been replaced with Roar, which can at least get some counterplay from Pokemon like Soundproof Kommo-o (which is much better than the Wind-immune Brambleghast or Shiftry). Some new offensive tools in its kit, such as Knock Off, Assurance, or Headlong Rush should allow for some more interesting and diverse movesets.
:sv/Wo-Chien:
Name: Wo-Chien
Type: Dark / Ghost
Ability:
Cursed Body / Tablets of Ruin
Stats: 100 / 90 / 90 / 110 / 120 / 60 (+15/+5/-10/+15/-15/-10)
New Moves: Bitter Malice, Forest's Curse, Moonlight, Nature Power, Night Shade, Poltergeist, Shadow Ball, Shadow Sneak, Strength Sap, Toxic
Removed Moves:
Justification:
Its tablets contain the grudges of the dead, so its Ghost typing is not that far out there. A bunch of new utility moves, alongside some Ghost STABs, this should be very valuable. Its mixed spread is still sensible, as a minmaxed Ghost/Dark might be a little bit much.
Yay I'm the first person to sub the Ruiners with more than one ability each
