The Counter Game

@ Dugtrio, since Gengar isn't really a safe switch in courtesy of Sucker Punch, let alone a counter. Priority move > choice scarf.

Meganium @ Leftovers
Bold nature
252 hp, 120 def, 136 s.def
- Energy Ball
- Synthesis
- Leech Seed
- HP Fire

Aerial Ace is Duggy's best attack against Meganium, which is a 4HKO with leftovers recovery. Between leftovers, Synthesis, and Leech Seed, Dugtrio's just not taking it down. Meganium could just wall it all day if it likes, since Life Orb + Leech Seed alone will eventually spell doom for Duggy.

Gengar@Choice Scarf
252 Sp.Attack\252 Speed\6 HP

-HP Ice
-ThunderBolt
-Shadow Ball
-Energy Ball

Trap me?

Not a counter. Sucker Punch has the priority and strength to kill you after you switch in on whatever attack Dugtrio throws at it (probably rock slide/sucker punch)

Now, to Dugtrio

Weavile@CB
Jolly-252ATK, 252SPD
-Ice Punch
-Night Slash
-Pursuit
-Brick Break

Comes in and wrecks you. Pursuits a KO if you're switching, and Ice punch is a KO if you're not.

Mah bad, i was thinking CS when it was Focus Sash >.>

Hitmontop @ CB
252/Hp 252/Att
Technichian

OHKO's with mach punch :)

Weavile:

Bronzong @ Lefties
Relaxed@ 252/144/112/0/0/0
Speed IV=0
Gyro Ball
EQ
Reflect
Stealth Rock

Basically walls Weavile, and OHKO's with STAB Gyro Ball.

@ Bronzong

Shedinja @ Focus Sash
Admant nature
252 atk, 252 spd, 6 def
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- X-Scissor
- Night Slash

Immune to Earthquake and Gyro Ball, and Shedinja would be in before SR so its not KO'd on the switch. Takes down Bronzong at its own pace.

Dugtrio @Life Orb

Jolly
- Sucker Punch
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Aerial Ace

@ Shedninja

Golem @ leftovers
Impish
252 hp, 180 atk, rest in def
Stone Edge
EQ
Fire Punch
Rock Polish

doesn't really care about Shadow Sneak or Night Slash, Polishes up and destroys with Fire punch/Stone Edge

Dugtrio isn't a counter. Its either KO'd or almost KO'd on the switch by X-Scissor then finished off with Shadow Sneak. Dugtrio needs to attack twice to KO'd Shedinja because of the Focus Sash, but it doesn't even get off one attack.

Edit: Forgot about Sucker Punch, but Dugtrio would still need to attack twice with it.

Golem, however, counters it fine.

@ Golem

Ludicolo@leftovers
Nature: Bold
252 hp, 148 def, 108 spd.
Ability: Swift Swim
-Surf
-Grass Knot/Energy ball
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam

Stone edge is at best a 3hko with leftovers, and can OHKO with every attack. (i think)

Herracross @ Choice Band

- Pursuit
- Stone Edge

Megahorn simple ownzzz it. Can take all attacks but Hydro Pump.

Normally "all attacks but..." would mean it isn't a counter...but I ran the calcs and its not even 50% anyway. Don't know why you'd say he couldn't take a Hydro Pump but...*shrug* Anyway...

@ Heracross

Dodrio @ Focus Sash
252 atk, 252 spd, 6 hp
Jolly nature
- Flail
- Drill Peck
- Endeavour
- Quick Attack

Focus Sash to survive the...whatever...on the switch, then Drill Peck for the KO. Surviving with 1 hp gives it a mean STAB Flail to boot.

Then it isn't a counter.

Skarmory @ Choice Band
252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
Brave Bird
Steel Wing
X-Scissor
Drill Peck

with 252/252 it isn't 2hko'd by CC, letting it Brave Bird you.

@Skarm:

Zapdos@Leftovers
Bold: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Roost
Thunderbolt
HP Ice
Thunder Wave

Can come in on anything with resistances to all your moves and Thunderbolts the metal bird.

Rhyperior @ Choice Band
Adamant
252 Atk / 252 HP / 6 SDef
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Avalanche

Solid Rock laughs at Hidden Power, and Rhyperior hits back hard with STAB SE Stone Edge.

Also lol at TheMantyke's Hitmontop with Close Wombat.

@Rhyp

Bronzong @ Lefties
Relaxed 252/144/112/0/0/0
Gyro Ball
EQ
Reflect
Stealth Rock

He had to return, just because he can resist Quake/Slide, and takes little damage from your non-STAB'd Megahorn.

@Bronzong
Moltres @ Heat Rock
Modest 252/252
Sunny Day
Fire Blast
Solarbeam
Morning Sun

Can't switch in to SR, but a counter is supposed to switch in right away. Sunnyblasts you into the realm of the dead.

Ninetails @ Wide Lense
Modest 252Spd/ 126 Special Attack/132 Special Defense
Hypnosis
Nasty Plot
Flamethrower
Energyball

Switches in either bulking up or not taking much damage, hypnosis', sets up, then blows you apart with a rediculously powerfull flamethrower, not caring if you resist it or not.

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Calm Nature
252 HP / 212 Special Defense / 40 Special Attack / 6 Speed
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Rest
-Sleep Talk

Shrugs off Energy Ball and Flamethrower, Sleep Talk for Hypnosis, Makes it eat Surf/Ice Beam until it dies.

I'll resist the urge to Magnezone or CMBliss.

Hariyama@Leftovers
Thick Fat
Adamant
252 spdef, 128 atk, 128 def
-Cross Chop
-Stone Edge
-Sub
-Bulk Up

Surf is a 3HKO at best and you have a 1/3 chance of doing it.
Ice Beam will never kill him and his Cross Chop is always a OHKO.
Can BU behind the sub and is a nuisance with fight/rock off that attack.

Exploud @Leftovers
Adamant Nature
208 hp/116 atk/184 spdef
Ability: Soundproof

~ Earthquake
~ Rock Slide
~ Return
~ Screech

This is a very specific counter to that particular Empoleon. Soundproof makes it so that Sleep Talk does not work, 116 atk EVs allows exact damage to allow for a 2HKO with Earthquake. The defensive EVs make Surf a 3HKO every time, and Ice Beam either a 3HKO or 4HKO, depending on luck. The other moves aren't necessary to counter Empoleon, only Earthquake.

Tee hee, finding crappier pokemon to counter good pokemon is fun. :P

Hariyama@Leftovers
Thick Fat
Adamant
252 spdef, 128 atk, 128 def
-Cross Chop
-Stone Edge
-Sub

Since Hariyama counters Exploud and it was in first anyways...

Starmie@Leftovers
Natural Cure
Modest
120 HP, 252 SAtk, 136 Spd
-Psychic
-Surf
-Recover
-Rapid Spin

Psychic is a 2HKO. Against Starmie, Cross Chop and Stone Edge are 3HKOs. Starmie outspeeds Hariyama and can Recover more damage than it takes in attacks.
