i'm loving as to how wrong graw's predictions are turning out to be!

also, i'm gonna murder you all in fantasy :D

personally, i'm quite sure that both SL/NZ will make the semi's from one group while IND/SA should come in from the other group. I don't think ENG/WI have the consistency to take either of those guys out!

also, NZ vs SA should be pretty interesting even though I don't think NZ stand much of a chance unless McCullum or Ryder really fire bigtime.

Yeah I'd have to agree, but New Zealand's form is very odd, and basically relies on the opponent. If they are playing an high class opponent such as SA or AUS they really bring their A game, but rarely trounce a lower ranked team.

I think it's going to be a lot closer than people think, with huge hitters like Ryder, McCullum, Taylor, Kallis, Smith and Gibbs it should be an great 40 overs of hard-hitting cricket.

Though I'd trade it in an instant for the Ashes. ;P
 
Surprisingly Pakistan made it through to the next round! Still played awful today though, terrible fielding.Luckily, they were playing the Netherlands, if it was a team like NZ they would have been gone for sure after missing those catches.
I'm rooting for NZ tonight, they have some of the most clutch players in the tourney.If either McCullum or Ryder get going, they are going to take the SA attack to the cleaners.I think it is likley that we will see a cameo from both of them since SA rely mostly on their faster bowlers which have gone for a few so far in the tournament.
As for the Ashes, I'm rooting for England and I actually think they have a chance to win it.
 
Oh dear.. NZ does not like playing pakistan at world cups..

Well, all we have to do is beat SL. Fortunately their batting is top heavy and our bowling attack should be well suited to restricting them..

Till yesterday I was doubting that anyone in that group can even touch Sri Lanka but wow Ireland nearly had their number. I still think NZ don't stand a chance versus SL though. Their bowling is just scary.
 
If NZ do beat SL, and Pakistan wins from Ireland, SL is out of the semis.India definitly need to win from Eng today with a reasonable run-rate if they are to have any chance to go to the semi's.I don't think they will beat SA but I'm fairly positive that WI will lose to Eng so they still will have a chance.Tournament has been very exciting so far, hopefully it will stay like this.

yeah well they deserve to lose...Now that they are out Im rooting for Sri Lanka! And I still don't see England making it to the semis even though they beat India.
 
india lost this whole tournament thanks to dhoni. when he was new, he captained brilliantly. but now, he's gloryhunting. throughout the tournament, whenever india got a good start, he went out at number 3, hit like a run a ball 25 and saw us through the end, big deal.

when finally india got a couple of bad starts, he sent in poor raina out to the wolves who had no match experience recently. he's a fucking joke and his captaincy is the only thing that made us lose this time around lol. he scored like 11 out of 25 balls vs the WI which fucked up our score and this time he played it 'safe' by sending out jadeja. why not himself? he could steady the innings as well as jadeja could, probably even better.

t20 isn't something you play defensive lol, i'd love to see him thrown out of the team. dinesh karthik is a better keeper and a better batsman lol.
 
I actually kinda liked Dhoni's approach, the problem was the batting..

I mean, I think there were some things that could have been done slightly differently, but on the whole I approve heartily of when he changes the order around..

lol This defeat is gonna be hard to swallow for SA but im not surprised. Pakistan have an amazing bowling attack. This tournament is all about bowlers.

Gul is basically like the new Waqar Younis at bowling yorkers, amazing bowling so far in the tourney.SL better hope they get like 2 no balls in the first over again if they want to make 120+ runs against Pak.We only lost the last time cause of the awful first 5 overs which I don't think will happen again.Go Pak!!!!!!!!
 
I must say, I was left very surprised when I heard the result. Props to the Pakistan players though.
 
lol even though I really wanted to see a SL vs RSA final because it would be undefeated vs undefeated, this is shaping up to be fun!
 
SriLanka so taking this. (Fuck Gayle if he screws that for me, hes the only one really giving them hope, Chanderpaul is not really a T20 batsman)

Absolutely magnificent (bizarre, but still awesome) start from Angelo Mathews, three wickets in the first over, all ducks, all played on! Windies have no chance from here...nothing short of a Gayle/Chanderpaul miracle will save them, and as I'm writing, SL haven't even introduced Mendis/Murali yet. Dilshan played a game-saving innings, SL have won it because of him.
 
if Gayle can outdo Dilshan, then WI have a chance, but if he's out, things are over...Chanderpaul's not looking in good touch, and the Sri Lankan bowling attack is (IMO) the best in the tournament. now that India's out (yes i'm Indian), I'm supporting SL all the way.

EDIT: Chanderpaul's gone, lbw b Mendis! Looking bleak...

EDIT2: mathews does it again, great catch, there goes sarwan! murali does well too

EDIT3: hate to edit a third time, but that really was brilliant fielding by silva, shame it went for four

EDIT4: Sri Lanka win, and they deserved it. Huge letdown for Gayle, if you take away his score, this is how the scorecard looked for WI:
