Also, I thought about posting a longer, more in-depth reaction to the Heatley trade but I think my initial reaction is better

They gave Heatley away there, Michalek was solid but not great and cheechoo was bad last year...I guess the only potentially redeeming thing about the trade is some sleeper draft pick but the drafts have been so bone thin these last few years that a non first round pick is basically ahl or echl fodder.
 
I've played been in like 4 mock drafts and I always end up with Thornton and Luongo (not in any order) in the first 2 rounds =/ I should start trying to play in the first 6, not bottom 6. =[
 
Also, I think it was mentioned above, but I picked up on that centsports place http://www.centsports.com/?opcode=557911 and I think thatll add a fun bit to the hockey season as well. I think it could be cool if we all signed up and could see how each other do as far as betting goes and it'll bring up a whole new strategy to thinking the game and determining which teams are likely to beat which and why, which has obvious fantasy implications. Deserving of a double post here:

I picked up NHL 10 today, and downloaded my Kane 88 pack. Needless to say, the game is pretty sweet. Started my BAP and had 2g, 3a in the prospects game with an A+ B+ A+ rating. Drafted 6th by the Hurricanes...hmm. Oh well.

The reason I post here is because I know quite a few of us active here are interested in EASHL, and I have started the Smogon team while I was playing around with the controls a bit. So, once you get your copy and sign in using it (I cant invite anyone who hasnt signed in with NHL10) friend request me (kmgrapp) and I will send you a club invite and such.
 
I started officially playing today since I had to restart for the roster updates, and I will be starting my highlight reel tonight I think!
 
Plan on picking up NHL 10 this weekend, and I saw Teifu with it already, so the EASHL team smogon will be ready for victory, obviously.

Have they made any changes to the BAP? I saw you say prospect game, but other than that, is there anything else?
 
Nothing too major as far as what you would be used to, just updated puck and goalie and player physics and boardplay, basically everything that should have been in 09 that we all bitched about.
 
Apparently, they charge just as much for preseason game tickets here as regular season tickets, fuck that shit.
