Wishing I'd waited another day to pick up Price, since in true goalie-the-first-game-I-have-them-for form he let up 3 in the first and got yanked. I'd debated on benching him since the Habs are well on their way to going 0-4 against the Rangers this year but I figured they'd be a little more desperate with the whole three-way-tie-for-the-East thing but apparently not.
The aforementioned Jagr is a big part of that tonight(3 assists), I doubt he gets traded either way. He's not very appealing to potential teams with that work ethic and recent lack of production, since his price(both to the cap and what he would command in the market) is probably too high for him to go anywhere.
Also as far as the Lidstrom thing that was a pretty cheezy hit(although not nearly as cheezy as Downey, Zetterberg, and Babcock seem to think) but as much as I hate doing it I mostly have to blame Lidstrom for that one, the elbow was lame but that play was very not like him to leave himself vulnerable in the first place.
EDIT: Speaking of stupid trade rumors I figure I might as well start making even more stupid posts relating to them since we're down to a week of pre-deadline drama
The free agent I am most curious about is Brain Campbell. I have no idea where he will go, but it looks like he isn't resigning and I will lose all faith in the Sabres if they lost another player for nothing, and I am pretty sure they would lose and equal amount of faith in themselves because they are showing every sign of being willing to deal him, and lots and lots of teams are interesting. As far as I know my Wings are not one of these teams(although the Devs are <3), but I am mostly curious about where he ends up - if a legitimate contender lands him it could spark interesting reactions from Ottawa/Detroit/Dallas/Anaheim/Montreal/etc.
I still don't think Toronto will be able to drop Sundin but for their sake I really hope they do - they've sucked since Joseph left(coincidently, so has he) and they really need to start rebuilding. Speaking of a potentially related issue, the GMs are apparently discussing players not being allowed to teams they were traded from via free agency for a period of time to prevent shit like Tkachuk going back to St. Louis after being traded at the deadline, for instance. They'll be too busy talking about trades for anything to come of it but I think it is a neat idea.
Hossa is another interesting drama, but I fully expect them to pull a Buffalo and keep him until the deadline and lose him in July. They've already said they won't trade him unless they get something that can 'help them now', so unless they get a miracle trade or Hossa resigned before free agency starts I fully expect 08-09 Atlanta to be worse than its 07-08 counterpart.
