Arti could you help me find the score of the Wings/Canucks game? I was busy reading the scoreboard of the WHALERS ON THE MOON and The Meaty Minions match from a couple weeks ago and missed it...

Coincidently I was NOT impressed by "Grand Master Aldaron"'s team's feeble performance, but I was interested in seeing how much the gap between him and the rest of the league has grown! However, the way he'd worded that before I'd kind of expected he was on top rather than falling off the bottom...

lol... okay i had that coming

in other news, i won by the biggest margin this week with an 8-1 domination of WER.

I'm wondering if I should try this risky strategy, so I'd like your honest opinion:

My current goalies are: Ryan Miller, Cam Ward, and Pekka Rinne. I was wondering if I should trade Cam Ward in order to grab some more forwards (as I believe Miller can carry). There are at least 3 teams in my league that are in desperate need of good goaltending (one guy has Gerber and DiPietro). I am considering this because I don't get the points I need unless my guys explode.

Why do you even have Rinne to begin with? If I was going to grab a third goalie that was a backup, it would be Ty Conklin, Halak, or Harding. Those three at least have solid defensive teams playing in front of them.. and Conklin will get every 3rd/4th start or something like that to make sure Osgood is good to go in the playoffs.

Trading Cam Ward might not be a bad idea, but if I were to trade him, it would be to "upgrade" and try to grab a goalie that hasn't started very well but is a well known stud.. Luongo and Turco come to mind there. Either that or trade for a goalie that will put up similar numbers by the end of the season and try to get a skater out of it that way. From the sound of it, you wanted to just run with Miller and a backup on an average Nashville team which probably isn't the best idea. Ellis is going to get most of the starts. Though he'll have a good year probably, Miller's stats will turn a bit more human (sorry DM) and running with a single starter goalie will be a struggle to take the wins category each week.

I don't know what your skaters look like but yes trading Cam Ward is a good idea based on his numbers. I'd try to get Luongo or even Giguere for him, though. Then you can dump Rinne and add a skater from free agents that way.

i cannot believe i lost to carl

YOU HAVE ANger THE SABERS FAN

But really, Carl is right. Miller goes through stretches where he can be very inconsistent, and he never was a goalie to keep his GAA down.

The thing is all the backup goalies have been taken more or less. It'll also be hard to grab the struggling goalies, as those goalies happen to be their 'best' goalies.

Turco's owner also has Huet, who is sharing starts with Khab (and Huet isn't doing too hot either). Luongo's owner has Mike Smith, who isn't really a goalie to fall back on.

I picked up Rinne because he is very 'talented' goalie, and hoping he may steal some starts from Ellis (as Ellis is still relatively new to the starting role and may not be able to handle the workload).

Doesn't seem like trading Ward is gonna be plausible though, as I've sent numerous trade offers and they countered by removing Ward and adding Miller along with other ridiculous offers.

Are we discussing fantasy teams? I'd like to share this fact with you. I drafted Marian Hossa in the SECOND round. I didn't think he'd be AROUND that long. I'm 14 points clear of the rest of my league.

Sounds like your league is pretty deep or values their goaltending a bit more than the Smogon one. Conklin was only just picked up last week and Halak is still availible. Harding was recently dropped too but I can understand why.

It's not like Ward isn't a bad second option.. maybe you can hang on to him a bit longer and hope the trade market improves. I dunno. Best of luck either way.

Okay, back to HOCKEY!!!

Back to back shutouts for the Sabres, after dropping two 5-2 losses at home. Back on top baby!

14 Team H2H, 2 goalie spots. There's only 1 person with 3 starting goalies (Theodore, Budaj, Lundqvist), some people have 3 goalies and others stick with only 2 (1 person has 5 goalies <_<).

Fuck that. I watched last night's game, we had 20 fucking shots on him in the first period and only scored once. The guy stood on his head the entire game, we only won 2-0 and it could've easily been 5-0 or 6-0.

lol well if the Devils get Khabibulin then it's a win/win for me since I have Huet and he'll finally be getting more starts.

I picked Brodeur first round in my league, so now I have Bryzgalov, Auld, and Garon to by my goaltenders and the real problem is that Marian Gaborik is already in my IR spot. Do you guys think that this is servicable or should I go after some goalie on another team?

I'm going to have to make a dumb trade and give more than i'll get now because Brodeur is out for a few months and I cant do much with Theodore alone.

All that remain available is Lalime, Sabourin & Yann Danis.

Trying to get Biron or Garon since Im pretty sure I wouldnt manage to get Fleury, Giguere or Luongo.. and Pascal Leclaire is hurt too.
