The Everything NHL Thread

I feel like it is a done deal, Gouki and Psycho are the last two.

We could do the draft this Sunday too as well I guess... I just really dont want it on a thursday/friday/saturday night because I will definitely be busy.

If not I might just have to pick the timeslot that looks the most available for everyone.
 
Sounds. Good and looks to be a promising season...as I polled, I would like Monday Wednesday nights, Saturday afternoon or all day Sunday as a draft time...we will see what's available I'm sure and hopefully it works from there

Though I assume we aqll need a password to join the league if I remember correctly

Also...jackal, I feel like zangoose would better exemplify your country in both your avatar and your signature...I mean, he already has the color scheme going too
 
Yuk.... I hope this preseason game the wings are playing isn't a preview of this season... I hope Osgood and the defense are just having a bad night.

im sure we will talk about all the great things that happen in the season when that starts... for now we are just preserving the spirit of the nhl thread by discussing fantasy.

Right now im looking at Oct. 3 as the best day still, but the time is kind of up in the air.
 
Ha maybe we should consider a fantasy hockey thread, though I think that would make this obsolete since there isn't much we really "discuss" that isn't fantasy related...

So on second thought, let's just keep this they way that it is...

In other news, todd bertuzzi and his fantasy value this year..thoughts? He always seems to play well and look good, but I feel like he is still playing with a monkey on his back that will never leave. He might be of value in our league because of the depth of our league..but I'm thinking only really as a third position in any depth chart. anyone have anything else to add?
 
New Jersey's first game: former Sabre Adam Mair gets a goal, Tallinder had two assists. Also, Torres scores in his first game with Vancouver after scoring NONE after the trade to Buffalo.

In other news, Rangers apparently going to bury Redden in minors if they can't loan him out to some foreign team (the Rangers on twitter, gr33n?). Still two years left on the Drury contract mistake but they're beginning to look like a good team. That Boogard contract still boggles the mind to say the least, but they'll have a nice, goony fourth line(probably an alternating combination of Boogard, Prust, Boyle, and Kennedy) and a top 9 probably consisting of Gaborik, Frolov, Dubinsky, Callahan, Prospal, Drury, Avery, and some combination of Zuccarello-Aasen, Ansimov, Christensen, and White. Blue line is sort of decent with Redden gone as far as a price:production thing now too, more room for Del Zotto and noob Staal and the other D are kind of ok (Gilroy, Girardi, Rosival, Eminger), though they could use one or two more there.

Honestly though I am optimistic about them. Especially with how bad the East is they should manage to do better than missing the playoffs on a SO on the last day of the season.
 
Alright I guess people are just waiting for me to make a decision, since there is no time where we can all be on. Based on the doodle I am going to go ahead and finalize the draft day as Sunday, October 3.

The time is still up in the air I guess, so one more doodle I guess for that!

actually me and patrick figured out a time before we both could make it, however, that time have past now :)

Added my doodles, but could have dinner in between, but should be able to do that later/before.
 
Turns out I'm retarded and thought that the original doodle was for this weekend. This Saturday would have been fine for me. >_>

Anyway the doodle is updated. I have a preference for the later times but whatever goes.

I'm still having nightmares over when Sam Rosen said, "And the Rangers' season comes down to Olli Jokinen."

As for Redden finally being sent down, that should have happened a long time ago.

I don't really like doing this "doodle" thing. It would be a lot easier to discuss times. I don't really want to start a draft any later than 11pm, so that's why I didn't select the 10-12 time section.

Anywhere from 8-10:30 is good for me.

I also have more flexibility on days that aren't Sunday. I'm not sure how we got stuck on Sunday as the only option all of a sudden.
 
Otherwise lets do a normal 1 year, no keepers, normal draft since we cant get a time that all are available which is kinda needed for an auction-keepers.

And then we can start planning on time next year, because we all know this year was indecisive and late.
 
it seems like 10:30 works for everyone but green, no chance at all you can flub the sleep for a night to make it works?

not really sure either, though i think a lot of it was that people didn't seem to want to commit on fri or sat because their busy social lives couldnt handle a night off, and class/work schedules are a bigger issue mon-thur









in other news, streit done for like 6 months... there go the islanders hopes of being better than the oilers!
