no wonder he didn't get resigned
Very saddened (and surprised) by the passing of Belak. He was a beloved fan favourite (I still remember when he scored 2 goals in 1 game).
So ya, Byfuglien was arrested for drunk-boating (among other things). What's even more surprising is he managed to gain about 40 lbs (probably fat) in the offseason.

Looks like I won't be getting a Byfuglien jersey. Saves me some cash. Still sucks that he could potentially not be allowed into the country, but I'm pretty sure he'll play this season. Sucks about the weight though...

Just when I was getting over Belak's death, this shit happens.
This is the first one of these that's really hit me.
I'm not quite sure what to say.
It's like, this is always tragic, but it feels a little different when it's people you're really familiar with like it is this time for me, with McCrimmon who spent a ton of time in Detroit and Salei who was on the Wings last year. We just haaaad to get fucking Mike Commodore...

Gallimov is still alive, and is still in a medically induced coma, contradicting news sources who are claiming he passed away in surgery. Read this one article how he told the policemen "Brothers, I am Gallimov," before fainting. What a true warrior. Praying he makes it through.
