The Everything NHL Thread

Probably not the right choice of words on my part. I just really dislike Cinderella teams. That was really my main point.

It is pretty awesome that we are going to witness the first Original 6 Cup final in 34 years.

And Patrick Kane is awesome. Im not sure why he's hated so much.
Whole thing got out of hand mainly because you mentioned historic franchises and then cinderella stories.. as if there are no other teams out there, or as if historic franchises and a cinderella team can't be one in the same. (IE: If the Chicago Cubs won the World Series this year)

And idk why Kane gets hate.. misunderstood I suppose. Or his mullet choice.
You guys are kidding right?

Um... that's it?

1. Punching the cabbie is old news. I'm not saying I've forgiven him for it, like when Marshawn Lynch hit a woman with his car, but he faced the music and grew up.
2. I don't care that he partied, just like I don't care that Matt Leinart partied, or that Michael Phelps ripped a bong. That's what young, rich, powerful people are supposed to do.

Was even confirmed that it was Kane who hit the cab driver? Or was it his cousin? The cab driver apparently had an annoying habit of locking the doors for all the young people to make sure they pay. The cab driver's own lawyer even said the incident was overblown. The cabbie also had two drunken driving convictions and had no valid driver's license at the time of the incident. Now that doesnt condone Kane's actions but no knows what really went on that night except those three. The cabbie wanted an apology, not no jail time (which would have been 15 days max). Its not really that big of a deal.

Im not sure what the 2nd link is suppose to prove. Its Deadspin, which I dont really consider completely credible. What does it really prove? That a 23 year gets drunk while partying like most people his age?

Your making it sound like he's one of the biggest assholes in hockey history.

The point is just to show that Patrick Kane hate isn't entirely irrational, which the posters I quoted were implying.

He's no Matt Cooke or Brad Marchand, but Kane is most certainly not a class act.

Um... that's it?

Yep.

I also don't like the way he looks and the way he talks and generally don't trust people with blond curly hair. To root for one team over another, sometimes the smallest reason is enough and it makes the series more fun to watch. I don't like his face and to enjoy hockey as much as it can be, I need antagonists. Also, if I remember well, he apologized to everyone BUT the cab driver following the cab incident.

Ok, I admit the real reason I root for the Bruins is Patrice Bergeron. I would be thrilled if he went as far as winning the Conn Smythe.

Nah, if the Bruins win, it will go to either Rask or Krejci (my money's on Krejci). If the Hawks win, it's probably Crawford. No forward has really made a strong case on that team.

This series could be 2-0 either way, I think we got the best possible Cup Finals this year. Yesterday I got that same feeling when Jagr hit the post so I'm glad they pulled through. A 5 game series with home ice advantage for the Bruins for the Cup, this is better than anyone could ask for at the beginning of the season

Hawks will be desperate tonight and should make for a good game.

Man what a FUCKING GAME. God damn..my heart can't handle this shit.

Crawford is so shit it's not even funny. My house was giving him shit all night, it's just wild how pathetic he is when you get down to it. Love how it's glove side all day..Boston knows it, everyone knows it.

So glad our offense finally got the win they deserved.

Seriously though..Boston is just too fucking strong. Once they all get in our zone..it's a guaranteed 5 shots, and 90% of the time it's a goal. They look so solid and composed. Must be nice.

Crawford was awful. He reverted back to being the goalie we saw last year vs Phoenix.

Both Chara and Seidenberg were uncharacteristically bad and the Bruins in general were sloppy defensively. I thought Rask was still excellent. He made some 2 big saves on Sharp to keep it at 3-1.

Bickell-Toews-Kane finally showed up and were the main reason Chicago won. They were dominant. On the other hand I think the Lucic-Krejci-Horton has cooled off considerably. To their credit Lucic is still a physical force, and Horton isnt 100% but Krejci in particular is kind of quiet.

Despite finally scoring a goal, Chicago's PP is still pretty bad.

Really exciting game overall. Cant wait for Game 5.

Agreed. Fortunately it wouldn't have affected the game much with 15 seconds left and no possession for either team at the blueline.

Seriously. Calm down lol. A lot of no calls that game.

Time to get some more luck from the hockey gods and survive Boston's relentless offense for one more game. 4-2

Yeah if there was 1:30 left instead of :30 left maybe I'd be mad about the blatant game-changing trip that led directly to a Chicago goal. But they earned those two wins. Why is Torey Krug out there with 30 seconds left anyways. Either team could have won any of these 5 games, it's pretty safe to say that the winning goalie gets the Conn Smythe at this point. Tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkaaaaa might still get it even if the Blackhawks win with the way he played for 2 months

I am just praying to the hockey gods that Bergeron is ok for Game 6. The injuries you can't see are always the scariest.

Bruins were down 3-2 before in the Cup Finals and I think we all remember what happened to that small canadian village

The Leafs with another pointless trade for a goalie. At least they didnt give up too much. I wonder if LA could have gotten more, like a 1st rounder.
