lol I love me some Dion Lewis but let's not anoint him the best RB in the league

Adrian Peterson and Leveon Bell are both better qualified and Devonte Freeman is currently playing the best running football I've seen in years, completely match up resistant (look how he chewed up Washington's run defense which for the past two years has just shut down opposing run games).

I might be willing to give you that Dion is currently the best dual threat RB, but I'd still give that to Leveon and it isn't like Freeman is slacking in that department either.

a competitive advantage doesn't have to be gained in order to be considered cheating... it just has to be a violation of the rules IN AN ATTEMPT to gain a competitive advantage.

Whether or not one was achieved is entirely beside the point.
You can't attempt to gain an advantage when there is no advantage to be gained in the first place correct?

I was being sarcastic there, but I will say that Dion Lewis is the best free agent pick up from this offseason.

No.... not correct in the slightest. An attempt to gain an advantage is wholly independent of whether advantage can or can't be gained. The whole point is that you tried.

That's definitely true

But I believe it goes against common sense to believe that someone would cheat knowing that they'll gain no advantage for said action, I just don't think it fits the definition of the word cheating.

And yes people I realize I look like an idiot for depending on your point of view no need to point that out.

We are not rehashing DeflateGate. Talk about something else.
We aren't really talking about deflategate per say,

And its gonna a hot topic this week considering that the only reason this Colts Pats game is getting publicity is because of the Colts role in inciting Deflategate.

Because if we go by play on the field it looks like this game's gonna have no competitive value whatsoever.

What publicity? I have to assume that's limited to Massachussets related areas as I've seen no hype or publicity about that game through any avenue related to football.

Dion Lewis's largest thing holding back that level of comparison is the fact that the sample size is so damn small. He's been involved on something like 60 plays with the ball in his hands compared to like the 117 of Devonta Freeman, or the 101 of Doug Martin, or the 91 of Carlos Hyde.

One thing of note though is how well Lewis is using those limited looks rn. He and Carlos Hyde lead the league in missed tackles right now but the frequency of Lewis's missed tackles is naturally off the charts (and he's leading the league in Yards after Contact per Attempt).

I mean look at this shit:

In addition to being the most discussed game of the week I'm sure it will be the most watched game next week and will have some of the highest ratings in SNF history.

Which is the definition of publicity my friend.

Call it publicity after those things occur, not before.

Yo shut the flunk up and talk about those sick nasty running back stats I just linked from pff. That shit is cash dollar. We should talk more about running backs. Running backs are cool.

Speaking of which I need to check how Johnathan Stewart is doing

I can be as optimistic or have as much faith in my Colts as I want, but if I'm going to be realistic, let's say that Dion Lewis has over 500 yards rushing and 4 TDs because even if our run D has been impressing me this season(compared to my abysmal af expectations) it's NEVER good against the Patriots. Which is weird because the Pats have one of the worst starting RBs in Blount. Our only potential saving grace in this game is if the Colts' offense produces like what a lot of people expected going into the season compared to what's actually been the case. And we need Andrew Luck to do that. It's really just going to be a mediocre game. It's gonna get hype because of the deflategate bullshit but it's going to be a meh game. If anything, the best game next week will be Panthers @ Seahawks but no one is going to care about that game.

The Broncos still look like the best team in the NFL. They won on the road against a divisional opponent without an offensive touchdown and the qb having a terrible day. Defense is consistent game by game, the offense will be up and down. Meaning that thinking the offenses' struggles today are indicative of an inherent problem with Broncos is foolish. Especially if you assume they will suck against any given team. The Broncos defense right now is ridiculous, which makes them the best team in the NFL.

The Colts dline is much better than last year mostly due to the emergence of Henry Anderson, but their secondary is far more susceptible. I don't think the pats will be able to run on them like they've done in the past but i'm confident they'll be able to get 40 through the air.

Which honestly makes no sense to me. I know our secondary has been horrible so far but ,on paper, it's much better than our D Line. Vontae Davis has been extremely underrated and has consistently been a lockdown corner but he hasn't played well this season. Mike Adams has been playing well and so has offseason addition of Dwight Lowery, but as a whole unit, our secondary has been playing pathetically despite it being our best defensive unit on paper. Other way around for the D Line. Having Robert Mathis back helps, and so does having Trent Cole. Both are really good pass rushers but through our history, our Line has been horrible. I'm really excited about the future status of Henry Anderson but one lineman doesn't make the unit as a whole better ,unless you're JJ Watt(who was held without a sack against the 40 year old Hasselbeck :^) ). The kid looks great but I'm not sure if anyone is gonna show up next week except Donte Moncrief. From the first few weeks, he looked like he was the only Colts player who was trying

Patriots left tackle Nate Solder is out for the season. Interesting development because his primary role was as a run blocker, generally getting lots of help from guards and chip blocks from tight ends to help in pass protection. While slightly weaker in that area the Patriots are highly equipped to deal with that loss given Brady's scorchingly fast release right now only holding the ball 2.5+ seconds just over 20% of the time, and averages 2.06 seconds to attempt (fastest in the league). More pressing is how it will affect their running schemes; if it even will have a significant impact on that at all is uncertain.

Just a passing thought current going into this weeks uhhhh "matchup".

They should put Vollmer at left tackle and put Cannon at right. Vollmer was awesome there in 2009 and I don't trust Cannon to protect Brady's blindside.

Honestly, Dion Lewis is so good that it won't really matter rn. He's not running through huge holes like past rbs for NE, he's literally just ripping defenses to shreds with great agility and acceleration that allows him to be extremely slick. Further making him better is his past catching ability, which so far, rivals that of shane vereen. I mean, just look at last sunday's highlight reel play against a cowboys defense that is known for good tackling
Yeah, this dude is a lot better than past NE rbs that just run through big holes because of great gameplans. Seriously, watch out.
