Welcome to the first Ubers tournament of the newest generation, where we throw unexplored ideas in the teambuilder, frantically looking for what works and quickly discarding what does not. With the Ubers format well playable on PS, and the plenty time players have had to wet their feet in this metagame, it's time to kickstart Gen 8 with a tournament.
Tournament-Specific Rules
- The Kickoff tournament will be a Single Elimination Best out of 3 SS Ubers tournament.
- Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!, preferably on the smogtours server.
- General tournament rules and clauses apply.
- Smogon-Wide Clauses still apply.
- You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
- All matches must have replays saved and posted within the thread.
- Any tier changes that occur after this post will not affect this tournament.
- This will be a quick tournament with short deadlines - keep this in when you sign up.
- Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same PokeDex number on his team.
- Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are banned. (No other evasion boosting things are banned). The exception to this is BW Ubers
- OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
- Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.

- Sleep Clause
- SleepTrap Clause: A Pokemon cannot use a move that can inflict sleep status on the opponent if it has the ability Shadow Tag.
