Samurott @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP, 4 Attack, 252 Special Defence
Sassy Nature
moves:
Substitute
Taunt
Scald
Megahorn/Encore
Defensive Samurott may sound like a weird idea in a tier here Alomomola roams, but Samurott has a much better support move pool. Substitute, taunt, and Encore work wonders together, as you can basically choose what move you want your opponent to use. This set also beats Jynx without Energy Ball, as these calcs show.

252 SpA Life Orb Jynx Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 0 Def (custom): 156-185 (39.59 - 46.95%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Psyshock is her strongest move against Samurott, and one Megahirn will take it out.

Samurott @ Lum Berry
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 108 HP / 252 Atk / 148 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Megahorn
- Waterfall
- Copycat

copycat is a really cool move on samurott as it allows it to become more of a supporting attacker. it can switch into a lot of ground and rock types as they set up stealth rocks and force them out. copycat allows samurott to take advantage of that turn and set up hazards itself. you can also steal spikes from the likes of garbodor and scolipede, although the latter requires prediction. lum berry allows you to take a lovely kiss from jynx and return it with copypat. you could also go with a special set using hydro pump | ice beam | hidden power grass, but the physical set is more useful in the current metagame in my opinion.

Samurott @Life Orb
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Aqua Jet
-Waterfall
-Megahorn
-Superpower

While this set at first may seem inferior to SD, what it has over SD Samurott is the ability to be threatening right off the bat without needing to boost. Thanks to BW2 move tutors, Samurott was given access to Superpower, giving him the ability to bypass Lickilicky, Klang, Relicanth, and Carracosta. The EVs and nature ensures that Samurott will be able to outspeed some fast mons like Timid Ludicolo, as well as making sure Samurott will hit as hard as possible with LO. Waterfall provides a reliable STAB move, while Aqua Jet is mainly used to pick off weakened foes. Megahorn rounds off the rest of the set for coverage.

Samurott@Salac Berry
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 112 Atk / 252 SpA / 144 Spe
Naive Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Megahorn
-Aqua Jet
-Substitute

There is a SubSalac Samurott onsite, but not one like this! This Samurott is meant to be a powerful mixed attacker that still hits a very good speed tier.

The offensive EVs maximize special attack to pump up Hydro Pump, plus some attack to improve the power of Megahorn (important coverage) and Aqua Jet. (important priority.) It can outrun everything from 252 adamant Torterra (base 58) and down without a boost. With the Salac boost, it beats 252+ base 95 Pokemon such as Jynx by a single point. Substitute is a good way of getting into Salac and Torrent range, but has the added benefit of making Samurott immune to status while behind it.

Samurott @ Splash Plate
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 SAtk / 164 Spd / 92 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Taunt
- Surf
- Ice Beam

This is my anti-lead Samurott I have been using for at least 6 months and it works perfectly. The general idea is to Taunt something that may use rocks with sturdy or a sash, then proceed to Surf it next turn for big damage. Something like Golem or Gigalith can hit you with a decent EQ and think they can score another hit using Sucker Punch or Custap Berry, but Aqua Jet takes care of that. Splash Plate is so you can enjoy Torrent boosted Aqua Jets and Surfs without having to revenge kill yourself, as they are extremely powerful and the EV's are set to be able to outspeed minimum speed Miltank for a taunt (you can then beat it 1v1) and maximize the damage from Aqua Jet.

Dammit wish I could post more than one set, but oh well :P

Samurott @ Petaya Berry
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 132 Atk, 124 SAtk, 252 Spd
Naive Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Megahorn
-Swords Dance
-Substitute / Ice Beam

This is Double Booster Samurott. Its goal on a team is to break down as many walls as it possibly can for a teammate to come and clean up, and it does that by boosting BOTH its offenses rather than just one. Hydro Pump and Megahorn are the two offensive staples on this set-as you probably know, Water/Bug has surprisingly great coverage in NU, which frees up two extra moveslots for Samurott to use. The first slot is occupied by Swords Dance, as it brings up Megahorn's power to the insane levels Rott has grown famous for. The final slot is usually Substitute, as it helps get Rott down into Petaya/Torrent range much easier, but Ice Beam can be used for Pokes like Altaria and Vileplume, or more specifically specially defensive variants.

The EV spread maximizes Rott's speed, lets it OHKO 0/0 Ludicolo with Megahorn after SR, and lets it 2HKO Alomomola and Vileplume with Hydro after the Petaya and Torrent boost. With the loss of Aqua Jet, Samurott really isn't going to be sweeping like he usually does, but like I said before, this set is designed to break down walls, not sweep (but it still can sweep under the right circumstances).

Here are some quick calcs against common walls in NU:

124SpAtk +1 Torrent Samurott (Neutral) Hydro Pump vs 252HP/4SpDef Leftovers Alomomola (Neutral): 60% - 70% (322 - 379 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.
124SpAtk +1 Torrent Samurott (Neutral) Hydro Pump vs 252HP/0SpDef Leftovers Vileplume (Neutral): 53% - 62% (189 - 223 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.
124SpAtk +1 Torrent Samurott (Neutral) Hydro Pump vs 248HP/8SpDef Eviolite Tangela (Neutral): 69% - 81% (231 - 273 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.
124SpAtk +1 Torrent Samurott (Neutral) Hydro Pump vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Lickilicky (+SpDef): 61% - 72% (259 - 306 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.
132Atk +2 Torrent Samurott (Neutral) Megahorn vs 240HP/252Def Leftovers Musharna (+Def): 72% - 85% (314 - 370 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.

Wow I didn't know Samurott got Copycat; I'll need to try that.

Here is my set:

Samurott (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD
Nature: Impish/Relaxed/Lax
-Dragon Tail
-Waterfall/Scald
-Rest
-Sleep Talk

Believe it or not, Samurott gets to phaze!!! This set utilizes Samurott's decent physical bulk (95/85) by taking it to the absolute maximum, surprising many Pokemon that like to set up on Samurott. Dragon Tail lets Samurott sweep those foes away, so all stat boosts are removed, and entry hazards kick in again (very important for this set). Waterfall is a nice, hard-hitting STAB for Samurott (with a flinch rate), but if you don't mind going mixed, Scald has a nice burn rate (choose Relaxed or Lax for the nature in this case). Since Samurott doesn't have Recover or Wish, it WOULD get worn down quickly, but that's where ResTalk comes in. Rest brings Samurott back up to full health, allowing it to continue its phazing shenanigans while asleep, with a bit of luck. This combination also lets Samurott absorb Lovely Kiss from Jynx or Spore from Parasect, using up the "one Pokemon asleep" allowance. Therefore this Samurott is a great source of team support, provided it is paired with a special wall (since Samurott's Special Defense is not very good) such as Altaria.

i looked through all the sets and i am pretty sure i didnt see this one.

Samurott @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
- Encore

this set is great on many teams, i havent used it in quite a while but i am using the same set on golduck in PU. this is extremely fun to use and is very easy to use. you can put the 252 evs from speed to hp if you prefer to be more bulky, but i would recommend it to speed to out speed things and be able to encore like defensive miltank, misdreavus and skuntank. you can use this set as a decent wall breaker with encore and even against alo and things it cant hit hard it has scald for the burn. you can snag faster pokes that will try to set up on you with a sub or something like jynx or something. you get pretty good coverage between the 2 moves and hit very hard with modest. the only real things you want to look out for are pretty much any water types but mainly ludicolo. if you know how to use sub encore sets well then you should definitely try this out, people may think you are going to SD after a sub and switch to a physical wall.

i hope i made sense, idk its late and stuff. night

Why are you using scald on a set with offensive evs? Generally, the Pokemon that switch into Samurott are either immune to it (Jynx, bulky Seismitoad), or don't give a shit about the burn (special Electric-types, Regice, Ludicolo). Surf or Hydro Pump would probably be better, since they allow you to fire off a decently powerful attack.

Hey how come the first page says we're still testing Metang?

Because I haven't updated it yet (I put up otter just before I had to have dinner and by the time I realised I couldn't use the computer due to storms, etc - in other words I'll update that and the second post today). In the future just go by what the title says - it's most accurate :)

Samurott @ Choice Specs
Trait: Torrent
Evs: 8 Atk / 248 SAtk / 252 Spd
Rash Nature (+SAtk -SDef)
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Hidden Power [Grass]
-Megahorn

Specs Samurott is a nasty little bugger. Samurott has pretty cool bulk, so detracting from that with Life Orb isn't always beneficial. The moves are pretty standard though. Hydro Pump hits like a truck, and does stuff like OHKO 252/0 Miltank, 2HKO Alomomola after Spikes and Stealth Rock, Ice Beam hits the obvious bulky Grass-types (OHKOs Tangela, 2HKOs Roselia and OHKOs standard Golurk without Stealth Rock if you dont want to miss Hydro Pump) and HP Grass OHKOs opposing Samurott after Stealth Rock, smacks around Alomomola and generally other bulky Waters. Megahorn is obviously for Jynx, and with 8 EVs and a Rash nature also OHKOs Ludicolo after Stealth Rock and a turn of Life Orb recoil.

I'd like to give both first and second place. Physical ScorpDestroyer's Samurott set is very good but my vote goes to FLCL's one.

definitely FLCL, I've used it before and it's really fun. josh in a close second though~
