Ice96

Oh lord this round made me realize the Muk analysis needs revamped.
Raseri's set is what everyone uses and is probably its best set (don't know why it's not onsite), but I like that Ice96's set is both viable and creative. I also like how his set can be used as an offensive partner for sweepers and still has the bulk to tank a few hits for its team. :)

yeah i was busy, shush :(

anyway,

ice: 14
cabol: 1
fooly: 9
ras: 1
fuzz: 2
punch: 1

Ice96 wins this round!

Make anything other than the current RU one listed (forgot to add that!) Anything else is fair game.

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Trait: Big Pecks
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Spd / 168 Def
Impish Nature
- Taunt / Substitute
- Roost
- Foul Play
- Toxic

This set is actually the standard set for Mandibuzz, Taunt + Toxic allowing it to successfully stall out many Pokemon with Toxic. Substitute is also a very good alternative to Taunt because Mandibuzz's Substitutes can be hard to break at times. EVs made to outspeed standard Misdreavus (not revealing my Speed creep sorry)

As you guys know might have found out, I like turning defensive pokemon into offensive threats, so without further ado, that's bust out some Mandibuzz action!

Mandibuzz @ Life Orb
Trait: Weak Armor
EVs: 144 HP / 252 SAtk / 112 Spe
Modest Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Air Slash
- Heat Wave

And here you go. I chose Weak Armor for the ability to gain some speed after taking a hit to make (plus Big Pecks/Overcoat is pretty useless in NU). EV spread to maximize Mandi's SAtk, enough speed to outspeed Timid Gorebyss, and the rest thrown into HP for bulk. Modest Nature for extra power. Move set is simple: Set up Nasty Plot, smash whatever is in your path (that Gorebyss I mentioned earlier, OHKO by Dark Pulse after a boost). Moves I selected are simple: Dark Pulse for STAB + hitting the Psychic/Ghost crowd in NU, Air Slash for STAB + hitting the Fighting/Grass/Bug types, and finally Heat Wave rounds off the field to hit the Steel types that wall this set to no end.

@ Leftovers / Life Orb
Trait: Big Pecks
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Sdef / 252 Spd
ivs: whatever suits HP grass
Modest Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power Grass
- Taunt / Heat Wave

While you may think this set is a gimmick, it really is it actually has the ability to beat stuff that normal sets have trouble with. Mandibuzz can NP against a lot of weak-ish Pokemon, but it usually has to Taunt them first however to prevent bad stuff from happening to it. Heat Wave is mainly for Metang, but boosted Air Slashes may suffice :> Hidden Power Grass are for the Golems who think can take a hit but take a heavy hit from HP grass.

edit: my set has hp grass > dark pulse. so its different from the one above :>

Sorry JCM but literally the only thing that has changed from the on-site set is the EVs and the nature. Unless you expand upon why the extra defense EVs are so important (and really, 20 EVs makes very little difference off the top of my head), then it can't count - in fact, really, they make very little difference. Alternatively just remove Taunt so that it's different from the on-site one and explain how/why Substitute is important to Mandibuzz'/that set in particular. But yeah, other than that it doesn't stand out as different enough from the on-site set and cannot count because it would otherwise be a definite win.

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Trait: Big Pecks
EVs: 248 HP / 148 Def / 112 Spd
Bold Nature
- Taunt
- Torment
- Foul Play / Toxic
- Roost

You thought you had trouble taking out Mandibuzz before? Think again. Now you can't use your most effective move against her twice in a row (suck it Choice mons!), allowing her to Roost off the damage and take piss poor damage from your other move. If you're a defensive pokemon your options are even more limited: in fact those with only one attacking move will start struggling between alternate turns due to Taunt + Torment. It can also telegraph the opponent's next possible move for your teammates to switch in on. Unfortunately there is no room for Toxic and Foul Play on the same set, but if you have Toxic Spikes support you can easily forgo Toxic.

Since this Mandibuzz takes less punishing beatings overall, a faster spread with Timid can be used, with 236 EVs outrunning neutral base 90s (Kangaskhan, Zangoose), 200 EVs for neutral base 85s (Sawk, Pinsir) and 164 Evs for neutral base 80s (Braviary, Gardevoir). Note +Speed nature Mandibuzz does lose a notable amount of bulk, especially after further investing into Speed. A specially defensive spread is also viable since Mandibuzz can now stave off super effective Ice Beams and Thunderbolts between alternate turns.
