the next game after D/P

I hope we don't have a GS remake. FRLG wasted 1-2 years of designing Pokemon, (so basically, we'd have had a new generation of Pokemon 1-2 years earlier if it weren't for FRLG and we would probably be getting close to the 5th generation now).

Hopefully they make a G/S remake with better iv'd dogs I mean come on look at how rare Raikou is(GTS, trading boards, etc.), and some of those are even hacked so the number goes down even more. (I'm not accusing anyone on Smogon I'm just stating it the way it is). Also better access to Lugia and Ho-Oh would be nice but if you ask me the best part is the 16 badges it totally rocks! :D but most likely they might release a D/P upgrade(like E,C, and Y). But I doubt nintendo will give access to the semi-legit pokes.

What's wrong with that? ;)

I think Mario with Lasers' theory is the most logical. There is absolutely no way Nintendo isn't going to make a 3rd game to go with D/P. And I'm still in the camp that a separate G/S remake doesn't make too much sense (aside from the $$$).

And those 16 badges were really the main selling point of the G/S/C series anyway, which MwL's theory would address. So, it'd probably be even better business sense to combine the 3rd Sinnoh game with Johto (if indeed Game Freak decides to use that data).

I believe the next pokémon game will be the D/P remake, with Johto as the after-E4 continent.

This.

Do this Nintendo. That, and let us store 1000s of pokes in the pokemon ranch thing for the Wii.

Unless there are massive improvements/remixing done to Gold/Silver, I have little interest in a remake.

Rapid Spin needs to be a Move Tutor move in the 3rd D/P episode. Generation 5 needs more moves that get rid of SR/Spikes/Toxic Spikes, etc. One that isn't normal type preferably.

What might also be another good addition to pokemon is a removable storage box by way of the GBA slot. Making a cart to store hundreds of pokemon and wrapping it with the next game would be nice and could help us with our storage nicely.

Other then that, I would support a GSC remake. Its main selling point wasn't really the 16 badges. If you wanted to go back, many of the things we take advantage of in D/P now (time of day, day/night eeveeloutions, diffrent events for diffrent days of the week) all originated in GSC, then were dumped in R/S. Obviously, with them bringing back the time oriented stuff, a GSC remake would provide more ways to utilize these features (bug catching contests ftw)

GSC remake would be awesome (actually, minus Crystal). This means no more waiting for promos to get Lugia/Ho-oh, a chance of SRing for Celebi IF IMPEMENTED (well you still need the ticket, and Celebi was only avaialbe in Jap Crystal before), and this would also be Nintendo's chance of fixing the Dogs' IV glitch. Plus, you get 3 instead of the lame 1 in FRLG.

I wanna see some better physical walls in the next gen. Ones that are as good at blissey when it comes to defending (except physical instead of special). And more mixed walls. The only true mixed walls we have Cresselia. And Giratina and lugia in ubers. Dusknoir to a certain extent but that 45 hp really hurts it.

Plus they were crappy ones too. =)

But yeah, a new gen GSC would be amazing and beneficial for people living in small towns or those who don't have GameCubes or anything.

I wouldn't want to jump to the next generation without having the core collection of some 190 Pokemon not available (IIRC, there were 60 of the original 251 in R/S). They'd still need to make the Kanto and Johto Pokemon available somehow. Can you imagine a metagame where Gengar does not exist? Wait...you can get him in the Old Cheatu. Okay, what about, say, the Kanto starters...I've heard that Hypno is a good UU Poke, no wild locations in D/P and not in Col/XD. Actually, I find it hard to think about FR/LG-exclusive Pokemon since Col/XD has quite a few, like the Johto starters.

HBdragon, you can catch all pokemon ex for certain and starters legendarys in D/P. beldum, drowzee, crabby, slakoth, what ever.

(bug catching contests ftw)[/quote]

i would shit myself for a bug catching contest. and like 20 more boxes of storage space. they could do a straight remake of d/p, have nothing different but bug catching contests and more box storage and i would be so stoked.

but i don't think we'll see a new continent for about 2 years (barring all those other stupid poke games like ranger...), but hopefully all our buddies from johto are on the horizon. the mention about johto being the E4 map in the update of d/p sounded perfect.

IIRC, the only Pokemon besides Legendaries and starters you CAN'T get from Diamond and Pearl alone are, oddly enough, Tangela/Tangrowth and Tropius for some odd reason or another.

It would be nice for a DS Pokemon game with Gym leader rematches, a more extensive Battle tower and Move Tutors, perhaps even with better level up moves for Pokemon with notoriously bad ones. (READ: FLAREON)

yeah having flareon get flare blitz through like a heart scale or new move tutor would be a way better way of making an atrocious poke like flareon sick, rather then the totally goofy in-game glitch talked about in the equally atrocious thread.

I'm hoping it will feature Pokemon with more utility moves, such as Rapid Spin (SOOO sick of seeing Starmies), Wish (there's like five good ones), and Knock Off.

OU Sunny Day/Rain Dance abilities would be awesome, so we could add variety to this dry sandstorm we're in, and possibly a perfect counter to Breloom like there's a counter to Heracross. Synchronize also needs to shoot back Sleep, so Hypnosis will become less rampant, or there should be more status absorbing Pokemon.

As for ingame, I think there should be a focus on fewer, but harder and more strategic battles, rather than "Charizard used Flametherower! Caterpie fainted! Charizard used Flamethrower! Relicanth fainted!"

Another thing they could do - listen to the competive side, and implement the clauses into the Wi-Fi - since you already can only Wi-Fi battle a friend, you'll have to talk to them and agree on what clauses to use; actually having the game disallow a second Hypnosis because of a sleep clause would be killer.

Are you talking about the in-game battles? The trainers along the way are just there to provide boosted EXP to your pokemon... at at a high enough level, you can use the rediculous pokemon in-game.

Level-grinding can solve (almost) anything.

People don't you see that there is a pattern being followed

1st Gen:A story of its own(DUH)

2nd Gen:A story of its own (but has a connection with first gen)

3rd Gen:A story of its own + the remake of 1st Gen

4th Gen:A story of its own +......

Maybe the pattern is changed every 2 generations

Wow, it really has been a long time since D/P was first talked about now that I think about it. Feels like no time at all.

well, as i post in a previous thread...

the signs of a Gold and Silver remake r all over shinoo...also one day in the place where i have pokemon battles and trades one guy arrive with a action replay and after check his game i notice that in the key items pocket there was a S.S. Anne ticket...i ask this guy about this and he told me that he try to deliver the ticket to the guy that take you on boat in both ports...but nothing happen, prolly he needs the code to activate the event or something...also the last time i post this someone answer that accord to serebii.net the S.s. anne ticket was a program leftover and have no use at all...

the fact is that they put the ticket on the game, for one thing or another....

it wil be great to go back to kanto, johto and the sevii islands, fight more than 8 gyms and have to deal with team rocket once again...

Ya bring team rocket back please o god please! They were acually sort of cool stealing pokemon for money and power. I hate these hippie style pokemon lovers (team magma obsessed with land and groudon team aqua obsessed with water and kyogre whats up with that)

The next game is going to be called Pokemon Opal with Giratina as the mascot. Opal is part of what Giratina's name is based on. It is either that or a re-re-release of GSC. That is what I am hoping for. That means that, following the pattern established, the new game will probably be coming out in 2008.

you are wishing this to be the case correct? you don't have any proof right? i agree it will be pokemon random gemstone, and giranta would make sense because it does seem to be the rayzquaza of diamond pearl, where as kyorge/groundon = palkia/dialga
