The noble light assault squad

Hey there. This is my second rmt for the corps, The noble light force. This is the assault squad. The main team for this corps. The following pokemon are used and most are open for removal from this squad if you guys suggest something better. So without further ado let's get goin on this. Thanks to thunder blunder for suggesting landorus.

In depth

198.png

Murckrow @ Eviolite
Trait: prankster
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP, 128 def, 128 spdef
Moves:
Perish song
taunt
roost
mean look

Perish trapper murckrow. A middle finger to all walls ever. This can destroy a blissey who doesn't pack seismic toss and even then it can just roost stall. This murckrow is simple. Bring in on a wall, trap it then taunt to stop it from wear down, then perish song if needed. This team had problems against blisseys and ferrothorns that murckrow will make suffer.
493.png

Cresselia @ leftovers
trait: levitate
Nature: bold
evs: 252 HP, 60 def, 196 spdef
Moves:
Rest
reflect
ice beam
thunder wave

Cresselia, the poor thing got booted thanks to ferrothorn and the like from it's rightful throne in OU. Now it wants pay back on the very things that kicked it out of it's prime. However it can't do it alone. With the help of lucario. She has an ally for her sword. She helps it with reflect support for the whole team as well as spread paralysis. Ice beam for dragon slayer. Rest over moonlight to prevent weather crippling her. The evs are different to that of the standard to prevent it from being shut down against special attackers.
25.png

Pikachu @ Light ball
Trait: Static
Nature: jolly
Evs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 spd
Moves:
Endure
reversal
volt tackle
fake out

I am going to say this. This is one of those sets that are unusual for a pikachu to run. Here me out. This thing is a suicide sweeper. It is a all or nothing pokemon. Static was the more superior choice over lightning rod for this as it made pikachu a chance to cripple any speedster. Paired with fake out, and this thing will put a dent on teams. This pikachu was necessary for me to use thanks to the blaziken ban as it does the same a gen 4 blaziken could do a little better.

453.png

Lucario @ Life orb
trait: inner focus
Nature: adamant
Evs: 4 HP, 252 atk, 252 Spd
moves:
drain punch
extreme speed
ice punch
crunch

Lucario was the pokemon that got me to use fighting types and is one of my favorite fighting types. So naturally, I wanted this pokemon to be the honorary set up physical sweeper/revenge killer of the team. The life orb drain punch combo is a nice duo and this lucario wants in on that. As traditional for lucarios. Extreme speed is the best priority for the physical side due to good coverage across the board and has a little more power over STAB mach punch. Ice punch and crunch are on this one instead of some other priority move so I gets alot of coverage. I will keep it on the team.

675.png

Landorus @ choice scarf
Trait: Sand force
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 252 atk, 4 def, 252 spd
Moves:
hammer arm
Earthquake
rock slide
U-turn

This landorus is a standard choice scarf user. However I will eventually make it some way to break out of the standard set. (Just not anytime soon) It is to check terrakions and fire types in general. Not much else to say here.
626.png

Galvantula @ Expert belt
Trait: compound eyes
Nature: timid
Evs: 4 HP, 252 spatk, 252 spd
Moves:
Thunder
Energy ball
Bug Buzz
Volt switch

Galvantula was a valued member in my single player run of black and white and ultimately was what made me use bug types more. So this is the honorary special attacker of the team. Two electric types in one team is odd, but considering galvantula doesn't share weaknessess with other electric type weaknesses thanks to it's typing. It allows it to run with other electric type pokemon. This set is made to cover as much ground as possible for this thing. This was a challenge to set up since of how shallow it's move pool in coverage is more situational if anything. Volt switch serves as its scout move against rock types. Yes rock types. It is to switch out to something that can take a hit from it's weaknessess. Galvantulas objective is to hurt hard or sucker switch on an attacker.

I await to here from all you about this squad. I really look forward to hearing from you guys.

Hey cool team man. The main problem with this set is that Terrakion will destroy it after Creselia dies. Fire types in general also give you problems. I recommend using the standard Choice Scarf Landorus set to check both of these threats

Thanks for the tip I have already swapped snorlax with it. However once I get my bearings with it, I will try something different on landorus to give it some other alternative in it's choice set.

Pikachu, block, three grass moves on one poke, no entry hazards, hone claws, flame plate, blaze kick, hammer arm, and venusaur on weather less
Okay so I don't run the typical stuff. That doesn't mean anything. Also, about the three grass moves. Two of those are status. status really doesn't apply for attacks. So what I use hone claws instead of swords dance. I like a sure fire sweeper over a reckless sweeper. Plus hone claws makes me more reluctant to use stone edge instead of rock slide. Did you even read the reason venusaur is on a weatherless. It is to take out something that could give me trouble in the longrun.

First Cresselia, who actually should see more use.
This thing really needs recover, and morning sun is a great move to accomplish this. Cresselia is performing an offensive role that is easily taken out by standard teams. This is why I suggest using a paralysing support set.

Cresselia @ leftovers
bold, 252 hp/252 def/4 SpA

~ Reflect
~ Thunder Wave
~ Ice Beam
~ Moon light

This allows you to combat things like dragonite, and either cripple it or hit it with a 4x ice beam. Reflect helps cresselia immensely, allowing her to take u turns. Thunder wave provides the support that Lucario needs to sweep.

Lucario is a great partner for Cresselia and I'm glad you have it on your team. It's very good with the right support. However, your set isn't doing Lucario justice. Lucario needs swords Dance to be a contributing factor. This set would seem to work.

Lucario @ life orb innfer focus
252 attack/252 spe/4 hp
adamant

Swords dance
Close combat
Extremespeed
Ice Punch/ Crunch

This set is standard because it has proven to work over and over again. The paralysis support from cresselia should help you mitigate Luke's lackluster speed. Ice Punch or crunch should be tested to what you feel you need to combat more. But ice punch is preferred for threats such as dragonite

Hidden Power ice on landorus is a must since you don't have much that can take gliscor out. Use a speed boosting nature that takes down def or spd. This can also help kill dragonite. Replace either rock slide or hammer arm.

Don't see a lot of people using venusaur as anti sun unit so the lure is ineffective. If you want to have a perish trapper, Murkrow is your Pokemon. Here's the set,
Murkrow @ eviolite prankster
Bold 252 hp 252 def 4 spd

Taunt
Roost
Mean look
Perish song

Murkrows ability gives all its nondamding moves 1 priority.
This looks strange but if you want a trapper for walls and some hazard setters, this is your Pokemon. The idea is to come on like a ferrothorn or blissey and use mean look, then use either taunt and perish song to effectively render that Pokemon dead, roost is used to stall any moves. Rinse and repeat if wanted. This can also be a last ditch effort in stopping any setup sweeper as you have prankster perish song to end their sweep or they will die. Don't forget to switch out on last turn of perish song too.

I swear to god if this is wasted, I'll rage. I'll remove this when I'm done. Trying to find a replacement for pikachu at the moment

Cresselia one I will change. I have to admit with that offensive set. Outrage and conkelduurs that pack payback give it trouble. I might mess around with evs a bit to prevent it from being a sitting duck against special attackers. I will also be keeping rest since it is not crippled by sandstorm/rain teams. Plus the status removal is helpful to check toxic stalling.

The lucario, I can't force my self to use the SD set. I know the hone claws set isn't doing good and will be replaced with something better. I just like to know that my lucario's is something I use only and not someone elses. I had an aggresive life orb set I wanted to try so when I tested it, I will edit that in.

Landorus I am just avoiding hidden power usage since I don't like it. Yes I know hidden power is good but it is almost impossible to get the stats I want on almost any pokemon.

Murckrow I will check out but is not looking good on it since I chose venusaur for natural bulk and not for prankster.

Venusaur @ leftovers
Trait: overgrow
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP, 4 spatk, 252 spdef
moves:
block
sleep powder
leech seed
giga drain

At first glance, someone will assume venusaur as the clorophyll user and think it will be an anti sun unit. Praying on this will allow this assassin of the team to trap, put to sleep, then slowly and systematically pick off a very formidable opponent that would otherwise threaten the squad. It may be hard for it to come in and do that, but when it does, it is worth it in the end. It is gimmicky, but the pay off is great. I am open to others who can do this same job better.
No one thinks it's a sun sweeper w/o ninetails on your team. No one.

So it's a special wall. No more, no less. Block is interesting...
493.png

Cresselia @ leftovers
trait: levitate
Nature: bold
evs: 180 HP, 252 def, 60 spatk, 16 spdef
Moves:
Rest
Calm mind
Psyshock
Shadow ball/Ice Beam

Cresselia, the poor thing got booted thanks to ferrothorn and the like from it's rightful throne in OU. Now it wants pay back on the very things that kicked it out of it's prime. The set this one runs is a little old school and rest is not in it's best as before but cresselia can take hits in the physical fairly well and have almost no problem setting up. I put psyshock instead of psychic since I didn't want this thing to be walled specially. Psyshock is a blessing since cresselia will be able to crush most walls with ease. I have been contemplating on giving it Ice beam instead of shadow ball since I lack an effective dragon slayer, but in the end I decided to use shadow ball since I can stop a physical wall in it's tracks thanks to it having decent coverage on the common types. I might go back to ice beam again since it threatens alot of the OU with it, but enough of this one.
Another wall w/ a weakness to a dominant move type - this time dark. I would think folding to Dark Pulse/Crunch would be bad...

Pikachu @ Light ball
Trait: Static
Nature: jolly
Evs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 spd
Moves:
Endure
reversal
volt tackle
fake out

This pikachu was necessary for me to use thanks to the blaziken ban as it does the same a gen 4 blaziken could do a little better.
If they hit this once, it's dead. Lighting Rod is thus functionally better as you can at least get a free switch in/boost.

I like fake out on it though. Then again Mienshao seems like a better choice for fake-out king/physical beater.
453.png

Lucario @ focus sash/flame plate
trait: inner focus
Nature: jolly
Evs: 4 HP, 252 atk, 252 Spd
moves:
hone claws
blaze kick
hi jump kick
extreme speed
Ditch Hone Claws. I know, I know "90 accuracy" on Blaze Kick and Hi Jump Kick. Deal with it, or go for close combat.

4th move should be Crunch, which combined w/ Hi Jump Kick has good coverage. Crunch takes out what this is weak to - ghosts, psychic.

Blaze Kick is a nice call for the random critical hits and the strategic "maybe I'll burn him" chance.
675.png

Landorus @ choice scarf
Trait: Sand force
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 252 atk, 4 def, 252 spd
Moves:
hammer arm
Earthquake
rock slide
U-turn

This landorus is a standard choice scarf user. However I will eventually make it some way to break out of the standard set. (Just not anytime soon) It is to check terrakions and fire types in general. Not much else to say here.
If singles, rockslide -> Stone edge. If this is doubles or triples, I haven't seen anything that indicates that. In fact, generally speaking, walls are bad in triples as spread moves or gangups can take them down hard.
626.png

Galvantula @ Expert belt
Trait: compound eyes
Nature: timid
Evs: 4 HP, 252 spatk, 252 spd
Moves:
Thunder
Energy ball
Bug Buzz
Volt switch

Needs Hidden Power Ice for dragons.
Also, needs U-Turn to avoid the free ground switch-in.

In fact, the lack of any ice moves except a "maybe" Ice Beam is cause for alarm here.

2 grass
1 fire
1 psychic
1 ghost/ice
2 fighting
1 ground - spread move - hits your own guys except cressalia - 2 for OHKOs)
1 rock- spread move
3 electric (2 on the same guy)
2 bug

End of the day Pikachu really hurts you for being a gimmicky punk who gets taken down too easily and who has a relatively bad movepool. The endure/reversal trick is just that - a trick - and for everyone it catches by surprise, it'll be useless thanks to sandstorm, hail, or priority moves a dozen times.

Biggest problem is that I don't know what this team is. If it's a singles, Landorus needs Stone Edge. You also probably need Stealth Rock and a ghost/Spinblocker.
If it's triples, you need protect on like every guy to make them not fold to Landorus.

Pikachu... get rid of it. If you want a suicide set, use accelgor and final gambit. Galvantula isn't that great really, it could be easily replaced with something else, volcarona, forretress, or ferrothorn maybe? If you have to use galvantula, at least give it electro ball.

Okay really the accelgor suicide attack. Pikachu is a suicide pokemon, but it can be potentially used multiple times. It can as well be used as a death pivot as well. It has also been able to one shot some of OU's finest water types. (pointing a finger at drizzletoad) I won't get rid of it unless there is a better reversal abuser out there for gen 5. I have yet to see any gen 5 pokemon pack reversal at all.

On your note on galvantula. It was a fight between electroball and volt switch. I went with volt switch to keep offensive momentum going. I guess I could check out electro ball again.

This would be a cool and fun team to run if you like these pokemons but as people stated, this team is definitely not competitive. By picking Pikachu majorly gimps yourself and you don't have any stealth rocks. Once Landorus goes down, any dragon can destroy your team. I'm not sure if you're serious because you are also debating getting Murkrow. If you like these unique pokemons, try a lower tier.
