THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN
of Ultimate Destiny
"This is the Ultimate Showdown, Of Ultimate Destiny
Good Guys, Bad Guys, and Explosions (as far as the eye can see)
And only one will survive, i wonder who it will be...
This is the Ultimate Showdown....
Of Ultimate Destiny."
Good Evening Folks! Welcome to the Introduction and Sign-Up thread of, you guessed it, the Ultimate Showdown!
What exactly is the Showdown? And why is it so ultimate? To make things simpler, the basic description of this interesting idea is that it is a massive melee, with up to 30 possible participants. With many tricks, challenges, and plot twists, I assure you this will be no normal melee. It is a test of skill, guts, and glory. Do you have what it takes to be the only victor, and be known all throughout our community as the one who triumphed?
The Ultimate ASBer?
A quick synopsis/what to expect:
-Puzzles, tricks, and plot twists
-A large arena, with multiple battle terrains
-Great prizes
-A huge melee to top all melees! A 20-30 man extravaganza, which will put you to the test!
If you believe you have what it takes, or just want to be a part of an amazing, one-of-a-kind experience, then now is your chance! You will be able to sign yourself and your most trusted Pokemon up to be part of The Ultimate Showdown. First things first, though! Allow me to shed some light on how this will be executed. This is a big project, and with just myself, I want to make sure that the first ever Melee Extravaganza is a success. Please pay attention to these next parts!

DQ Time/Being Late to order: This is the real trouble, where this could go bad. With 20-30 people, things could get hectic, and we could be stalled for weeks before I could receive all the actions and ref. The solution to this is to be a harsh ref. You have 3 days to order after I post the round. This will give you plenty of time to interact and talk with other trainers in the match, or figure out your plan. If you fail to message me your actions within the 3 days, one of two things will happen:
1) The first time you do not message me within 3 days, your Pokemon does not attack, and loses 20 HP/EN that round. This is to encourage that you do not pass the DQ time.
2) The second time you do not message me within 3 days, your pokemon loses all HP/EN, and you are out of the Ultimate Showdown. Yes, this is harsh, but with a large amount of Trainers, we want this to go quick. I have made the punishments severe so that it will encourage you to do as you are asked.
*IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE GONE, ON VACATION/CAMPING/CANT GET TO COMPUTER, LET ME KNOW ASAP* If you inform me beforehand, that will help your situation much better. Remember though, there might not be much I can do for you. The Ultimate Showdown is a commitment. If you let me know you will be gone, I will allow your Pokemon to be idle, and not lose any HP/EN (though it is still vulnerable to enemy attacks). Still, you have 3 days from when I post the round, so you should be able to get actions in.
I will ref the battle in 1-4 days time. Remember, the Ultimate Showdown will be unlike any other melee we have seen. I will need some time.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Arena Play: While i cannot give away the location just yet, I will inform you that it is not like other arenas. Due to the large number of participants, the area will be massive. Trainers will be scattered here and there, and if you want to get to certain places, or to fight certain trainers, you will have to use the Walk and Run actions.
Walk: The Pokemon heads out to the location its trainer had already selected.
Command Type: Universal | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 3 | Priority: 0 | CT: none
Run: The Pokemon rushes to the location with haste, using more energy but getting to the destination quicker.
Command Type: Universal | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 6 | Priority: 0 | CT: none
Where you are walking/running to is a major factor is to how many actions it will take to walk/run. Running cuts the action time in half (If it takes 2 actions to walk to the temple, then running takes one). I will always make sure you know how far you are away from certain landmarks/battle areas.
Flying can be used to get to areas much quicker, but obviously can only be used by Pokemon capable of flying (have wings). Levitating Pokemon/ghosts cannot fly, unless they have wings/learn Fly.
Fly (Locomotive): The Pokemon spreads it wings or uses its mechanisms to soar into the sky, and quickly get to the designated location. This takes more energy however, and Pokemon that are in flight are more susceptible to Thunder/Hurricane (like the regular move Fly).
Command Type: Universal | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 10 | Priority: 0 | CT: none
Using Fly will get the Pokemon to any location within at least three actions, depending on how far it is flying.
There could possibly be a body of water, so in case there is, there is a surf command as well:
Surf (Locomotive): The Pokemon jumps into the body of water, and uses its swimming skills to glide through the surf with ease, getting to the location.
Command Type: Universal | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 6 | Priority: 0 | CT: none
All Water-type Pokemon can use the Surf moving command, as well as Pokemon that learn the HM Surf
The final way to move around is by using dig.
Dig (Locomotive): The Pokemon uses claws, horns or other appendages to dig deep in the earth, and tunnel its way to the location.
Command Type: Universal | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 10 | Priority: 0 | CT: none
Using Dig to move around is still susceptible to Earthquake damage (as long as it is used in the same area as the Dig user). Digging Pokemon cannot dig under bodies of water, mountains, or certain structures. I will make sure to bold when you cannot dig to/under a place.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Items: You are allowed to bring one item for your Pokemon to hold. It can be anything item you already own. You do have the option to hold no item in the beginning. Just remember, if your Pokemon does not have a hold item when you sign up, you can't give it one once the Showdown begins.
Switch= KO: The Ultimate Showdown is a 1vs1vs1vs1vs1.....etc. Each Trainer only brings one Pokemon.
FE/NFE?: For the Ultimate Showdown, You may either bring an FE with 25+ moves, or a NFE with 40+ moves. Remember, this is a serious competition, with a serious prize. you want to do your best, don't bring a 15 move fresh Pokemon with hopes to train it up.
Abilities: All abilities will be used.
Substitutions/Actions: The Player will send me 3 actions, even if they are fighting multiple trainers at once. The Player gets 3 Substitutions and 1 KO substitution.
Recoveries/Chills: Each Pokemon is allowed a base of 4 Recovery Moves, and 20 Chills. More may be available during the Showdown.
Arena Restrictions: All moves will be able to be used, though some areas might not allow certain moves. However, there will be an area where a move can be used.
Battle Slot?: The Ultimate Showdown does NOT take up a battle slot! So please try it out! Show us your stuff! All you can do here is win!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Flavor/RP actions: You will able to use RP actions and use flavor. As long as you give me a good explanation and it makes sense, you should be able to pull off your idea. This is not required by any means, but it could give you an advantage, and show off your ability to defeat the foe with unconventional methods.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Earthquake: This gets its own special category of explanation, for a good reason. Heck, wouldn't it be brilliant to bring a move that hits everyone in a 30 man melee? Well, that would be overkill, and everyone would be packing it. So, Earthquake only affects a certain area around the Pokemon. Specifics will be further posted. This also goes for Bulldoze, Magnitude, Discharge, Surf, Sludge Wave, Surf, Lava Plume, Teeter Dance, Synchronoise, Searing Shot, Struggle Bug, Selfdestruct, and Explosion.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Prizes:
1st Place - One Master Ball, 10CC, Ultimate bragging right
2nd Place- A certain amount of CC/UC, depending on the number of participants
3rd Place - see above
Everyone else - see above

Name: Glacier Knight
Pokemon:
Mamoswine(*) [Truffles, "The Boss"] (Male)
Nature: Mild (+Spa, -Def)
Info on Truffles: Shunned and Rejected by its faults, Truffles doesn't care what others say. He knows his true power and can now use his eccentric abilities and brute force to turn the tides of the battle into his favor. He keeps his head high and rushes into battle with a grin on his face, but still keeps his eyes keen and mind sharp. Supposedly extinct since the last ice age? Far from it.
Type:
Ice: Ice STAB; immune to freezing and Sheer Cold, no vision loss or damage in Hail or snowstorm conditions, perfectly accurate and 30% Protect breaking Blizzard in Hail. Superior senses and mobility in frozen caves and other frigid arenas.
Ground: Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 3 per action Energy Cost to 2 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.
Abilities:
Oblivious: (Innate) This Pokemon is incapable of being effected by Attract or Cute Charm.
Snow Cloak: (Innate) This Pokemon is used to snowy blizzard conditions and gains a 20% evasion boost during Hail. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Hail damage.
Thick Fat (DW,Unlocked): (Innate) This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)
