which is the most iconic of these three profile pictures:

outside of (or including if you want) those, which is the most iconic user avatar? by iconic i probably mean something like "most strongly associated with a specific user by your brain"

which accent do you have the hardest time understanding?

do you think the internet and texting will lead to the inevitable demise of the english language?

are you balding?

what would you do if you had the power to forcefully change one other user's name without repercussion?

do you think mechanical keyboards are better than normal keyboards?

if you were locked in a small one bedroom apartment with a person for a week, would you rather it be:
a) a godzilla movie loving canadian
b) Jonathan ross but he's always feeling extra irritable

is there a specific reason you find bouldering so enjoyable?

do you like karaoke?

do you like tea?

how outrageous is it that after min 12 years of companionship we are not invited to monkfish's wedding
well this is awkward
thoughts on these official smog brit rankings:

1) shade
2) thunda
3) monkfish
4) gary barlow
5) cookie
the metagame has shifted, the north is no longer has the centralising presence on the internet it once boasted. shade to C tier
Do you like sports
kinda - i don't like watching sports much but i like bouldering/playing tennis. i might occasionally watch wimbledon or curling and pick up international football tournaments but that's it.
what keeps you coming back to smogon after all these years?
honestly i'd kinda stopped coming here before lockdown because my real life got so busy that i didn't have much time for posting any more. but before then...i just like posting and chatting shit online. it helps there are people who have similarly stuck around so i don't feel completely like a fossil
where did the name come from? why not "biscuit"?
ayyyy so my original name was cookie crumbz, which my 15 year old self deemed a cooler, edgier version of "cookie crumbs" which is a name i used on the internet at the time. i soon realised both names were fucking stupid and shortened it to maintain some sort of online persona continuity (looking at all you people who did a full 180 on your usernames)
speaking of which, jaffa cakes: cake or biscuit?
biscuit. they are stackable and come in tubes. do any other cakes come in tubes? thought so

1. You say you love the onion. What's your favorite onion article? Cuz god damn there's a lot of good ones to choose lol.
favourite video (by far):
no actual articles pop to mind but a headline does: https://www.theonion.com/carbon-monoxide-detector-with-snooze-button-recalled-1819588298

nvm: https://www.theonion.com/report-chinese-third-graders-falling-behind-u-s-high-1819574614
2. Have you dealt with multiple programing langauges? If so, what's the one you thought was the biggest pain in the ass?
my previous answer covers this pretty well: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/the-well-63-cookie.3673135/post-8653419
I remember having to make a small change in some java code for work and have to deal with like 5 layers of classes that then moaned. shudder
3. If you were to give a smogoner a tour guide of London, what do you think would the best "secret spot" tourists don't know about?
lol. It's too easy to mention anything outside the centre of london where tourists won't go anyway, so I won't. soho/chinatown have loads of nice places to eat/drink, you just gotta know where to go and that's hard if you're only there for a few days. yolkin near piccadilly circus does probably the best ice cream in london - they have a mango sorbet with mochi pieces which is legit the best vegan dessert I've ever eaten. And I think plenty of online magazine have covered it, but the knights templar in bank is cool because it's a pub set inside an old bank. HOWEVER it's a wetherspoons which are a morally bankrupt chain so I recommend you go in there and order the cheapest non alcoholic beverage, use their stunning toilets and then leave.
4. What's your favorite kind of pizza?
green bell peppers/red onion/pepperoni/chilli if we're talking greasy take-out
diavola if neapolitan style
hi cookie

of those three, i'd have to say doommullet
i'd say my avatar obviously but aside from that, gormenghast's penguin was etched pretty strongly into my brain

i am interested in this "the oddish." i have not heard of it, it is probably from before my time.. do you have any top articles from this that you would be willing to share here and now?
https://www.smogon.com/smog/issue28/oddish
https://www.smogon.com/smog/issue26/oddish

I also discovered some other things I wrote for the smog:
https://www.smogon.com/smog/issue19/moves
https://www.smogon.com/smog/issue26/moves

#19 was heavily influenced by some of the physics I was studying at the time (particularly lasers) (though I think the bit about superconductors having close to zero resistance is wrong - I thin the resistance is actually zero)
#26 contains some vestiges of that knowledge

Do you think you would write The Oddish again if given the opportunity?
Definitely not. I'm not in touch with the culture of Smogon enough to be able to satirise it. And judging by the quality of the second set of articles relative to the first, I struggled to find enough angles to write about.
Where is your pfp from?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fonejacker - it was big in the mid-noughties. I have changed it periodically but george agdgdgwngo always returns, eventually. I like to think that my desire to have a sense of continuity on the internet even as far back as 2009 was ahead of its time; now it's pretty much taken for granted.
Thoughts on the current direction of Smogoff?
it's more boring than firebot but that's what you get when you cut down on edginess. as someone who grew up with old firebot and 4chan I'll always have a soft spot for a more anarchic feel but I'm a bit of a fossil like that. As long as people are enjoying it then I'm happy.

While I'm at it...

What happened to the Well #64 Nomination Thread? I don't think it was ever posted lmfao
I believe phoopes was away, so never created one.

best thread: the one that springs to mind isn't actually my thread, but a thread edit i'm still pretty proud of to this day: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/that-dirty-bassline.72208 - unfortunately a lot of the image links are dead but you get the idea from those that remain (context: this was immediately after the 2010 general election)

in terms of threads i actually created: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/our-policy-on-making-policies.86907/

posts, that's a tough one. in terms of posting i probably peaked several years ago and it's hard to remember any of the posts i made back then.

one post i do remember that wasn't my best but the first "good" post i remember making: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/a-question-of-the-ages.33204/#post-792697. the link's dead but it's that picture of a guy set on fire in a wheelchair
OK so update: I found pristine screenshots of the thread edit
