one anticon's most praised groups comes back after a 6 year hiatus; Themselves! a free mixtape is coming out this month and a full-length album is expected sometime this year.

Man this is some good stuff, I first started listening to themselves over the summer, this seems very promising, good to have new songs.

i honestly never really enjoyed themselves as much as other oldschool anticon shit

greenthink is just so much better in my eyes, dose's raps paint more vivid mind-pictures and the beats are much better. the only themselves song i really remember liking was grass skirt and fruit hat

but either way this is exciting, i will for sure check it out!

edit: upon listening to the link i have to say im actually really impressed, this has a really cool tribal sound to it. i'll definitely give them another listen (them being the album name ~_~)

This excerpt is fucking awesome. I am now extremely excited for the full mixtape. Them got me into all of the myriad anticon. musics and I have eagerly sipped at the troughs of both jel and dose since.

funny, i just read about this today and i've been listening to the first excerpt of FREEhoudini for about 3 hours straight while writing a paper

super excited for the themselves full-length, god it's been a long time but when you have the no music and them to tide you over six years doesn't seem long at all

the best part of this is: touring! but as far as i know they're not coming to florida. guess i'll have to drive up to atlanta.


look around, there's been another leak of the mixtape with appearances from buck 65 and lionesque (superb female lyricist who worked with dose on hemispheres and illogic on unforeseen shadows). you can probably find a link on anticon's site

no, the no music is really abstract and really hard to listen to. i'm not saying that it's bad or anything, but if you're looking for something more like this you should look into the album them if you haven't already
