Thievul's decent coverage, its access to Nasty Plot, Electric Seed increasing its Defense, and Unburden doubling its already high Speed afterward make it a dangerous sweeper with Electric Terrain support that can sometimes be difficult for teams to reliably revenge kill. Psychic provides Thievul with super effective coverage for Fighting-types like Throh, Grapploct, and Falinks, and it also hits Pokemon like Shiinotic and Roselia harder than Dark Pulse. Protect prevents priority users like Falinks, Fraxure, and Pikachu from revenge killing Thievul or wearing it down. Mud Shot can be used over Protect to more reliably handle Pokemon like Mawile, Pawniard, and Carkol, though this leaves Thievul more vulnerable to priority users. Furthermore, waiting until these foes are severely weakened or KOed tends to be ideal.

Pincurchin is a required teammate, automatically setting Electric Terrain because of its ability Electric Surge, helping to wear down opposing teams with Spikes and Toxic Spikes, and potentially creating opportunities for Thievul to set up with Memento. Strong physical wallbreakers like Silvally-Electric, Stonjourner, and Basculin make for excellent partners, since they can break through specially bulky Pokemon like Type: Null and Roselia and help Thievul rely less on setting up to finish teams off. These Pokemon also share some checks with Thievul and can use their coverage options to wear down or KO them. Thievul's typing and natural bulk don't allow it to switch into much besides Psychic-type attacks, so it appreciates being paired with pivots like Manectric and Silvally-Bug that can give it a chance to easily switch in. Rapid Spin users like Galarian Mr. Mime and Hitmontop can be useful to have, since they minimize the amount of damage that Thievul has to take while setting up without compromising any hazards that its own team sets. Galarian Mr. Mime also provides Healing Wish support, allowing Thievul to soften teams up early-game before using its Electric Seed, and can weaken Mawile, while Hitmontop checks Dark-types like Pawniard. Certain priority users like Hitmontop and Basculin can revenge kill Thievul even if it runs Protect, so it should be paired with Pokemon that can exploit these foes, such as Silvally-Psychic and Nasty Plot Gourgeist.

With Electric Terrain support, Thievul becomes a dangerous mid- to late-game sweeper for offensive teams through the combination of its decent coverage, access to Nasty Plot, and ability Unburden. (maybe merge this sentence with the previous one; electric seed is kinda part of what makes it so good) Because of Electric Seed increasing Thievul's Defense upon use and Unburden doubling its already high Speed afterward, Thievul can be difficult for teams to reliably revenge kill. This fact can be used to generate setup turns, (against pokemon like?) which allows Thievul to more easily sweep. Psychic provides Thievul with super effective coverage for Fighting-types like Throh, Grapploct, and Falinks, and it also hits Pokemon like Shiinotic and Roselia harder than Dark Pulse. Protect prevents priority users like Falinks, Fraxure, and Pikachu from either revenge killing or wearing Thievul down. Mud Shot can be used over Protect to more reliably handle Pokemon like Mawile, Pawniard, and Carkol, though this leaves it more vulnerable to priority users. Furthermore, waiting until these foes are severely weakened or KOed tends to be ideal.

Rapid Spin users like Mr. Rime and Hitmontop can be useful to have, since they minimize the amount of damage that Thievul has to take while setting up without compromising any hazards that its team sets. (mr. rime also has hwish, which can allow thievul to do stuff early-game before it has used its electric seed. galarian mr. mime also might be a better example, as it fit better on more offensive playstyles due to its speed tier. mr. rime / galarian mr. mime also happen to weaken mawile, and hitmontop deals with dark-types like pawniard.)

mention pokemon that can take advantage of threats that revenge kill thievul (hitmontop is an example of a mon that rks it)
