To Drizzle, or not to Drizzle

This Team wil come back after I finished a Tournament. This I do, because otherwise everyone would exactly know how to counter me.

This is a pretty solid team. Nicely presented by the way. I just have one little thing you might wanna try but isn't completely necessary. Maybe on Mamoswine try running ice shard. This way you can still kill plus +1 dragon dance pokemon like D nite and salemance. It would also help you take down scarfed landorus that would normally outspeed you. This is just an idea and if you don't feel its necessary thats fine. I'm just not sure what move you would take off.
-Good Luck.

This team is actually pretty good. Alomomola is tough to crack. The issue with it, though, is that it can't reliably beat Blissey. At +6 and in the rain, Scald is only doing ~25% to 4/252 Calm Blissey, and that's just pitiful. If you do manage to get a burn, it can just switch out. For this reason I'd recommend a specially defensive Roserade. It gives you Toxic Spikes to stall out and pressure Blissey as well as a reliable switchin to Rotom-W. Next, maybe add in a Choice Band Scizor over Ferrothorn. It can take on Celebi and some Dragons for you in the rain making an Alomomola sweep much more possible. You can replace Toxicroak and Ferrothorn. Great team and gl. :)

Hey,

This is quite a solid team however I notice that you're pretty weak to Calm Mind Reuniclus who will easily setup on most of your team and can stall out your Toxicroak's Sucker Punches. For this I would like to recommend a Specially Defensive Jirachi over your Ferrothorn as it can deal with all types of Reuniclus while giving you a solid switch in for Latios. The set is:

Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 216 SDef / 40 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Wish
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Protect / U-turn

The spread means it can outspeed standard Celebi and with rain support it gives Jirachi one less thing to worry about weakness wise. This set can almost come in on Thundurus and threat to para it with Body Slam with really limits its sweeping capabilities. U-turn can be used over protect if you're scared of Magnezone's trapping you. Otherwise Protect is a great way to guarantee Jirachi's survival time in any battle.

Hope this helped, good luck.

To all the people who allready posted I say thx (first of all)

@ GreasyPanda: Ice Shard is nice. I know it, but unfortunatly I can't replace an attack xD

I tried it over and over with other moves, but it really cripples my chances with Mamoswine. Since I am Scarfed I also think that I won't be using Ice Shard often. (Unless I get a free switch-in)

If someone has a good idea for implementing Ice Shard into Mamos movepool, I'm wide open for suggestions

@ MetaGross66: I don't actually plan on sweeping with Alomomola at all. It's just that it's a possibility at the end of the match. I know I won't be able to kill a Blissey whenever it can still switch, but when it can't, that's the kicker ^^ (And besides, I have Mamoswine's Superpower, Toxicroak's Drain Punch ... Blissey can't survive them at all)

Stalling out Blissey takes to long, besides it would take away great synergy if I replace Toxicroak for Roserade.

The Ferrothorn switch I will try. Although I think I might get some troubles with Bulky Waters or what so ever. Starmie will become a much bigger treat.

@ Jaxx: I'll try out the Jirachi as well. It will be hard to test, but I think I can manage ^^

Hey there. This is a pretty solid team.

On Thundurus, I defintely think you should use Lum Berry over Leftovers. With Lum Berry, you can set up a free Nasty Plot on pokemon like Jirachi, and wreck the plans of enemy Thundurus with Thunder Wave. The extra recovery with Leftovers really isn't missed too much, as Thundurus resists most common priority, like Bullet Punch and Mach Punch.

Seeing as you do not have any entry hazards, I recommend you replace Protect with Stealth Rock on Ferrothorn, as having the ability to switch in freely can put your opponent at a major advantage. You should also replace Bulldoze with Thunder Wave, as it can help pokemon such as your Toxicroak sweep. Also, since you have a rain team, it will be difficult for Magnezone to kill you, so as long as you go for Thunder Wave or Leech Seed when it comes out you will be fine. Thunder Wave can also slow down threats, and can be very useful when predicting switches.

Well you helped me out, so I'll help you out.

I'm not really seeing Mamo. Why Scarf it? Why not Band it? Ice Shard is the main use for Mamo now, and you're not abusing it. Although, pulling a bluff could work nicely and humorously.

Also, go Thunder Wave>Focus Blast on Thundurus. If you can 2HKO bliss with Focus Blast, its stilll inaccurate and you get paralyzed anyways.

good team.

Haha I was almost going to recommend Luvdisc over Alomomola but then I remembered that connection didn't actually exist....
I like your use of it though, as I imagine it's horribly hard to take down.

One thing I have to recommend, though, is using Stealth Rock / Spikes over Bulldoze on Ferrothorn. Firstly, HP Fire from 'Zone isn't very strong, and with Leech Seed and Protect recovery it will take a few turns. Ferrothorn can set up Spikes/SR in this time, and benefit your rather offensively based team. Bulldoze can be helpful, but hazards will be better in the long run when the opponent switches a ton.

Thx again for all the fixes. This week I'm gonna test out a lot I think ^^

@ TheMasterOfOz: Im definately gonna use Lum Berry on Thundurus I think. Test, test, test.

Since I'm gonna test out the Jirachi that was recommended, the Ferrothorn problems are kinda off the trail for now. If Jirachi doesnt work out, I'll try the fixes on Ferrothorn.

@ Po rii Sames: Mamo is Scarfed for 2 things. To surprise, since it can easily take out some treats with the surprisefactor at hand. And to outspeed a lot. When I outspeed I don't need CB Ice Shard.

@V0x: Thx for the Alomomola props ^^ + Over Ferro, same comments as against TheMasterOfOz

Hi KM888

This looks like a solid team, I do have some suggestions though.

Using Jirachi will make you extremely weak to opposing Rain teams so I would advise against using him. What you can do instead is use Choice Band Scizor instead of Mamoswine. It still checks Dragons and the likes of Tornadus of Thunderus good enough, while also giving you an answer against Reuniclus and the likes. A moveset of U-turn / Superpower / Bullet Punch / Quick Attack will fit perfectly. If you want you can use Pursuit instead of Quick Attack to trap weakened foes but the latter will help you with the likes of Thunderus, etc.

I'm also not to sure about Alomomola's ability to check the likes of Conkeldurr, Excadrill and Terrakion. Sure it can take a hit but Alomomola's SAtk is pretty bad and it will be unable to deal significant damage in return to the aformentioned threats. Although I'm usually against replacing the "core-poke", I think a Gliscor would fit your team better. A moveset of Taunt / Sword Dance / Ice Fang / Earthquake will fit nicely. With the Poison Heal ability and holding the obvious Toxic Orb, Gliscor can take status just as well as Hydration Alomomola. Taunt in it's moveset will also greatly help you against Stall teams who tend to be a but difficult for you to handle. To a lesser extend, Gliscor can even take Electric-type moves if you use my Scizor suggestions.

Since you don't have a Rapid Spinner, you could try Leftovers instead of Lum Berry on Thunderus, as he will really appreciate the extra longevity. Both Politoed and Alomomola can take status and Rest it off and Ferrothorn can even set up on the likes of Jirachi, Quagsire and Gastrodon, who are common Thunderus switch-ins.
You're team will also appreciate residual damage in the form of entry hazards so you might want to consider Stealth Rock instead of Bulldoze on Ferrothorn. Magnezone really isn't that common but if you are still concerned about it you can keep Bulldoze and use Stealth Rock over Protect.

Hope you like these suggestions, and good luck with the team!

Hi KM888

This looks like a solid team, I do have some suggestions though.

Using Jirachi will make you extremely weak to opposing Rain teams so I would advise against using him. I noticed that a lot when I battled with it. Including against you ^^

I'll try it out, but what EVs/nature should I try it out first. Afterwards I can allways make it my own.

(If it doesnt work I'll stay with the surprise ScarfSwine.

If you want you can use Pursuit instead of Quick Attack to trap weakened foes but the latter will help you with the likes of Thunderus, etc.

Nah, Quick Attack ftw

I'm also not to sure about Alomomola's ability to check the likes of Conkeldurr, Excadrill and Terrakion. Sure it can take a hit but Alomomola's SAtk is pretty bad and it will be unable to deal significant damage in return to the aformentioned threats. Although I'm usually against replacing the "core-poke", I think a Gliscor would fit your team better. A moveset of Taunt / Sword Dance / Ice Fang / Earthquake will fit nicely. Taunt in it's moveset will also greatly help you against Stall teams who tend to be a but difficult for you to handle. To a lesser extend, Gliscor can even take Electric-type moves if you use my Scizor suggestions. I'll try it out, but I really am fond of that Alomomola set. People allways underestimate it and thats the winning strategy.

Since you don't have a Rapid Spinner, you could try Leftovers instead of Lum Berry on Thunderus, as he will really appreciate the extra longevity.

Thats what I had first. -.-
Some people were suggesting it to me. It works fine too. They both have their uses, but I'm not really convinced yet, why 1 is better than the other.

Both Politoed and Alomomola can take status and Rest it off and Ferrothorn can even set up on the likes of Jirachi, Quagsire and Gastrodon, who are common Thunderus switch-ins.

I know, but the point is, that I can't allways switch in a water Type. Besides, I get trolled a lot by other Thundurus'. I Nasty Plot on the Switch and then they T-Wave me -.-

If I can Heal that and hit back with HP[Ice], it would be a nice thing.

You're team will also appreciate residual damage in the form of entry hazards so you might want to consider Stealth Rock instead of Bulldoze on Ferrothorn. Magnezone really isn't that common but if you are still concerned about it you can keep Bulldoze and use Stealth Rock over Protect.

I'll try out the different Ferro's from now on. When one is more succesfull than the one I have now, It'll replace this one.

Hope you like these suggestions, and good luck with the team!

I might have another idea. Is it a good idea to put Dark Pulse on Thundurus? I know I lose some coverage then, but I would have a solution to Reuniclus and Celebi. (I'd ditch Focus Blast because it has the worst accuracy, and I really need the rest) Without Focus Blast, Steels would probably switch in, but I think I can manage them anyways. With Thundur and HP[Ice] I still will have some kind of BoltBeam combo.

(Only other Ferro's would be a problem I think)

KM, run Thunder Wave over Focus Blast. The odds of you hitting both vs. Blissey aren't great, and I'm pretty sure after lefties recovery, wish, and Protect, you can't 2HKO it. Thunder Wave is an amazing move for just about anything tho, and it's amazingly good.

Choice Band Scizor has an Adamant nature and an EV spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe.

Dark Pulse isn't a good idea, Celebi is still hit SE with Hidden Power [Ice] and STAB Thunder does more to Reuniclus anyway.

Thunder Wave is an option on Thunderus too as mentioned by the user above me, although Thunderus will loose coverage when using that. If you're willing you can give Ferrothorn Thunder Wave. Paralysing the opposing team will help Toxicroak sweep late game. And it also doesn't really interfere with Politoad's Toxic as they both lure out completely different pokes.

EDIT: Thunderus can in fact beat Blissey (at +2 it's a 2HKO if Focus Blast doesn't miss and a +4 Focus Blast even does 82.4% - 96.9%) while Blissey can't do enough damage in return (although she can use Thunder Wave to cripple Thunderus so Lum Berry has some use). Unfortunately without Focus Blast Thunderus will be walled by a quit a lot of things like Ferrothorn, Gastrodon, etc.

But who in the world tries to defeat Blissey with Thundurus. When I know my opponent has Blissey, I keep up a physical poké like Toxicroak.

I'm not stupid you know ^^

Our battle was the proof off that I think ^^

^ AMAZING BATTLE

(I'm gonna put up 2 logs of them in a couple of minutes)

EDIT: I won't put Dark Pulse on Thundurus, (see posts above me), but I won't put T-Wave on Thundurus as well. I'll just keep using Focus Blast then.
Like I said, I'm gonna try out the Ferros first. (Later I'll do Scizor and Gliscor)

ok, for now I've done some crazy actions ^^

Ferro doesn't work well if I give him another move. It's just how it is.
Instead I gave Mamoswine Stealth Rocks. Man, it only brings up the surprise factor when I outspeed them later on. They just never see a scarfed Mamo comming with SR. x'D

I also gave Lefties back to Thundurus, since I couldn't survive many SR without it. Now its better ^^

One of these days, i'll test out the Scizor / Gliscor combo. Although I want to add an amazing feature. ^^

I outstalled a Reuniclus with my Alomomola x'D
It became a huge PP-Stall War, but eventually my Alomomola was the victor, and after it, it swept the other players Team (or what was left of it ^^).

These were a Bulky SD-Scizor and a Specially Defensive Skarmory.

Ok, it's time for a little bit of reviewing the suggestions.

The Scizor - Gliscor combination: I actually hated it big time. It gave me some sort of survivability against Celebi and Reuniclus (Scizor), and had some good Defensive Walling capabilities.

Although: HP [Fire] on Celebi ko's Scizor just as much as Psychic kills of Toxicroak. (Not every Celebi carries Psychic, and not every Celebi carries HP[Fire])

I don't have any problems anymore with Reuniclus lately. First of all, I stall out his Reuniclus with Substitute from Toxicroak. Every time he uses Calm Mind its a free Bulk Up and when Im at +3 (or +4) I can OHKO it with Sucker Punch. The rest of the time I use Sub being that I'm faster.

Also, I learned that my alomomola can actually Outstall a lot of Reuniclus'. I outstalled them for like 10x by now.

Alomomola can even Wall things a lot better than Gliscor can. It only has a weakness to Electric, BUT his n°1 counter is Rotom-W, which Gliscor isnt very fond of either.

Putting in Scizor OR Gliscor: This didn't help either. They are just too common, and everyone knows how to counter them.

Ferrothorn using T-Wave: I have only tested this some times. And I noticed that it ain't that bad. I'm thinking of keeping this, if I encounter a Magnezone wich I can actually kill with it xD.

I'm thinking of running it over Bulldoze or Protect.

______________________________________________________

Thing is that I really need some more Stat inducers.

* Poison: Toxic from Politoed
* Burn: Scald from Alomomola (30% is good, but sometimes not good enough)
* Paralyse: I don't have that yet.
* Sleep: Nope, no sleep-inducers on my Team

Lum Berry Physical Sweepers just are a Pain in my a**
This is why I'm thinking about the recommended T-Wave on Ferrothorn (to cripple Dragonite, Haxorus, Scizor, ...)

At this rate, only Excadrills will be a great danger, but with Politoed switching in on the Swords Dance, and Thundurus switching in on the EQ. I could take it down.
If Thundurus doesnt make it here, Mamoswine is allways up for the kill.

EDIT: I replaces Protect with Thunder Wave on Ferrothorn. You can find the reason in the first post. Also without Buldoze I couldnt defeat Magnezone that easily. They allways switched in at the same time that I switched in Ferro. Then going for the obvious Sub.

I'm going to BUMP this for the first time now. I really still like some tips that could work. There are a lot less treats for my Team now, so I allready thank the people who gave suggestions.

* T-Wave on Ferro is key for many of my victories.
* Even though no1 ever said to put Stealth Rock on Mamo, I got the idea from this thread.

* I also thank the persons who said to use Lefties on Thundurus over Lum Berry, since it actually saved me a lot.

BUMP 2, can someone please help me further. Ive seen a patern in my loses.

Im actually weak to some pretty common cores. Any of the combination Scizor - Gliscor - Rotom W cores give me trouble. As my one counter for 1 of those pokes gets countered by the 2 others xD

If someone has the solution for this, I would be grateful ^^

right now i don't know your team but something that can beat that core you just mentioned is shaymin. With hp fire and seed flare it rapes.
T-tar can efficiently beat gliscor and scizor. If one of them is down you can predict the switch to rotom and switch your move and kill him
