It is a lip piercing and I enjoy it. What are your views on piercings/tattoos/general body modifications? Do you find them attractive or repulsive? Do you have one, or many? Do you ever intend to get one? Perhaps you have an interesting story pertaining to your friend who owns a tattoo gun and got drunk this one time. Discuss!
 
I am pretty anti-piercing, I don't really have any problem with people who do it but it is something I would never do and I personally find it to look really stupid. Whatever does it for you I guess but I have a hard time understanding willing putting holes in your body. Earrings(1 per ear) are fine but I am somewhat disgusting but rings in most other parts of the body (lip, nose, stomach, etc.).


Tattoos I really have no problems with although I find it horribly amusing when people discover a few years later that they don't really want it for their entire lives and get it removed a few years later. If it's something you know you want and will live it it more power to you but I personally have a thing about people sewing on me with needles.
 
Piercings are alright. I'm not the kind but I definitely can't complain. Earrings on guys and girls tend to look good as long as they're not gaudy.

Tattoos are the same. I do feel like if you get one it should be for something incredibly important, something worth telling your grandchildren stories about.
 
Yeah, I pretty much agree with Synre. I'm anti-piercing and would never do it, but I won't go insane over it if someone does. Unless if it were my girlfriend and she got 327423823 piercings on her face.

If someone has a piercing other than a small one on the ears (preferrably earlobes), then I don't like it; it makes me squeamish anywhere else. Especially on the tongue.

Tattoos, I have no problem with. And tattoos on buff, bearded guys make them look like a stereotypical escaped prisoner, which is either cool or uncool depending on your point of view.
 
got one in my left ear and was thinking of a second one in my tounge or lips and like id love to tatoo my back but like neither karina nor mom would be happy with that :x
 
I may get a piercing on my left ear at some point, but I could never permanently alter my body with a tatoo. However, I don't mind them so much on other people.
 
I have one ear pierced, and I think that having that's fine, but I don't like the mouth piercings. One of my coaches had an eyebrow ring, and if you can pull it off, it looks really good. And tatoos I think are fine. Again, you gotta be able to pull it off though.
 
I've got two tattoos I want to get done in the next year or two, don't have any atm. One each to memorialize my grandmother and my dog.
 
i'm not a fan of the piercings around the mouth area tbh, nor the nose... but to all their own. i might get my ear pierced one day, but idk.
 
Personally, I really don't like piercings. I won't really mind if other people get them done, but I will get slightly disgusted if I see someone with many visible piercings (lips, tongue, eyebrow, etc etc). I guess its mostly because of where I live and stuff. You don't really see any piercings except the occasional ear piercing and the rare eyebrow piercing.

Tattoo's I'm quite fine with again, but then again if I see someone with half his body full of tattoo's then it becomes weird. Its just that you don't see people like that around here.
 
I mostly agree with Synre really - I don't really see the point in either, I think people need to find less tacky ways to express themselves lol
 
I'm fairly opinionated on the whole tattoos/piercings concept while never often voicing my thoughts on it.

As far as piercings go, any piercing other than the ear bothers me in a way. My sister got her belly-button pierced and I was a little shocked/disgruntled, but I'm fine now. For the most part, belly-button piercings aren't too awful, but I dislike anything in an obscure part of the body.

Tattoos are another story however. I'm often bothered by even the smallest of tattoos, but again, I rarely ever say anything about it. Whenever I see a tattoo I think to myself "what will that look like when (s)he's 60 years old...?" I know it's a fairly contemptuous standpoint, but it's also a somewhat realistic one. I've asked a friend of mine who wants to get a tattoo that same question and he didn't seem to care about it, so perhaps that's the general consensus.

I can't help it, but I form opinions about people with tattoos or piercings which I usually regret.
 
indifferent. it's a smart idea to just let things be accepted.

only if they are trying to go for a world record... that's when i wish everyone tries to do their part and shun them :\

i am getting a tattoo of my moms name on my chest either this month or next month!
 
I used to have my upper left ear pierced. I got it done on a whim my freshman year of college mainly because I still hadn't done anything that you could do being 18 or older. I took it out this past summer when I had a job interview and then just never put it back in so it closed up. I obviously don't have any problems with piercing but I'm generally not attracted to girls that have ones in their lip or eyebrow or random face places. Nose is fine. I guess nipples or down below are kinda weird too but I'd likely get over that if I liked the girl.

As for tattoos, again I'm not against them in any way and find some to be really cool. I'd never get one though because I'm so fickle that in 6 months I'd hate whatever I got. I mean I only had my ear pierced for probably a year and a half before I got bored of it. Girls can have tattoos but sometimes they look kind of tacky.. like the big long ones on the lower back. Those are usually just meh. Tattoos really depend on what they are and their location for them to be attractive IMO.

i love piercings and tattoos. i don't have any tats yet, but i have had both my eyebrows, the bottom part of my lower lip (between chin and lip), and my tongue pierced at one point or another (not all at the same time, fuck that). I plan to get my lower lip again, i really liked that. as far as tattoos, i want to get some but i want to get something that i design, so it'll be awhile. :\

Yeah, i used to have my eyebrow pierced, got bored and took it out etc. Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallly want a couple of tattoos, but not saying what!
 
For piercings, I wouldn't personally get one, but I don't see why others shouldn't, it's up to them if they want to mutilate themselves or not.

Tatoos I quite like, apart from those stupid ones down the inside of the forearm that just look really tacky to me, but again I probably wouldn't get one myself.
 
I'm not much for piercings or tattoos. Don't care if someone gets them, but just not my style. My dad went to get my ear pierced when I was younger and dispite not wearing an earring for years, the hole is still open. When I go to fancy digs with fancy dos, I toss a diamond earring in my ear, but outside of that, I never bother with it. I never did understand how some dudes like to pierce everywhere, but to each their own.
 
I'm currently not allowed to get any tattoos/pierces but I still wouldn't care about them even if I was allowed.
 
I don't really mind people having ear piercings since like half the people I meet have them and I've probably gotten used to it, but I find piercings on other areas of the body mildly repulsive.
 
I like piercings, I currently have 7. Welcome to the lip piercing club. Did they start you off with a labret stud or a ring? Is it center or off-center?
 
Belly button and tongue piercings make a girl far more attractive to me. Nose piercings, the opposite! Same with tattoos. I will probably not get a piercing (a tongue piercing would not look too good in a cubicle job :-*), but I want to get a giant tattoo on my back...just not sure what yet!
