Tony’s Sprite Art!

A sequel to Randomized Recolors, a discontinued thread.

Welcome one, and welcome all to...
Tony’s Sprite Art!

In this thread I’ll be making people sprite art on their behalf. I have six different art styles.

I also have another technique that not a lot of many people use. I call it the shadow technique.

Update!

I’ll be using a new program to recolor Pokémon from now on. The reason I left the old program was because the images weren’t transparent. The new program is a little limited, but still works. Just wanted to give y’all a heads up.

Very nice little gallery! I always like seeing the art of fellow spriters like myself. As someone who's been spriting for quite a few years, maybe I can give you a few tips. First thing that I noticed was that a few of your recolors are missing some shading in some parts. Shading is especially important in order to give your sprites depth. When recoloring any sprite, it's important to use different shades of the same color in order to match the existing shades. Second, this tip is really up to you, but I recommend using colors that complement each other. Otherwise, you may end up with a sprite with poor contrast. If you don't know what contrast is just look up examples of bad contrast and you'll see what I mean. Other than that, I really like your recolors thus far, I hope to see your gallery expand. Feel free to hit me up with any sprite-related questions or look at my own gallery for inspiration.

Thanks fo the feedback! I really appreciate it! I’ll focus on the shading and contrast with future sprites. I also looked at galleries like yours before making this thread, and I think it’s really good. I’ll consider all of this in the future, and once again, thank you!
