[OVERVIEW]

Toxapex is one of the best defensive Pokemon in the OU metagame. With its amazing defenses, great defensive typing, wide support movepool, reliable recovery, and Regenerator, Toxapex is both very hard to wear down and able to check common metagame threats such as Cinderace and Magearna. Thanks to these qualities, Toxapex is able to fit on numerous balance and stall teams as a defensive pivot. Its high number of utility options allow Toxapex to wear down and cripple many of the metagame's top threats such as Mandibuzz, Ferrothorn, and Heatran, making it a hard Pokemon to switch into despite being a defensive Pokemon. Toxapex unfortunately has trouble exerting offensive pressure due to its underwhelming offensive stats; therefore, its only ways of making progress will be spreading status such as poison and burn and removing items with Knock Off.

[SET]
name: The Pex
move 1: Scald / Knock Off
move 2: Recover
move 3: Haze
move 4: Knock Off / Toxic / Toxic Spikes / Baneful Bunker
item: Rocky Helmet / Black Sludge
ability: Regenerator
nature: Bold / Impish
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Scald allows Toxapex to heavily damage Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Nidoking and potentially burn and cripple foes such as Garchomp and Ferrothorn, while Knock Off allows Toxapex to cripple Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers users such as Zapdos, Tornadus-T, and Heatran that may switch into it. Haze prevents Toxapex from being used as setup fodder by Pokemon like Magearna, Calm Mind Clefable, Volcarona, and Suicune. Toxic is great for putting Pokemon such as Slowbro, Tornadus-T, Hydreigon, and Mandibuzz on a timer, allowing Toxapex's offensive teammates to overwhelm them, while Toxic Spikes is an option for wearing down grounded Pokemon like Garchomp, Rillaboom, Spectrier, and Tapu Fini as well as defensive Pokemon like Tyranitar and Tangrowth; unfortunately, it can easily be removed, cannot target vital non-grounded Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hydreigon, and is often absorbed by Poison-types such as opposing Toxapex and Galarian Slowking, which makes it inconsistent at spreading status. Lastly, Baneful Bunker is great for crippling Pokemon such as Cinderace and Rillaboom attempting to pivot against Toxapex and scouting Choice-locked Pokemon such as Magearna, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Tapu Lele, as well as potentially racking up additional Black Sludge recovery. Rocky Helmet allows Toxapex to punish Pokemon such as Cinderace, Rillaboom, and Kartana while also punishing U-turn attempts from Pokemon such as Cinderace, Corviknight, and Dragapult. Black Sludge can be used as an alternative item to gain additional recovery at the end of each turn while also helping Toxapex in Trick scenarios by crippling the Trick user. A Bold nature is generally preferred; however, an Impish can be used if Toxapex uses Knock Off over Scald.

Teammates like Cinderace, Spectrier, and Rillaboom appreciate Toxapex's ability to spread poison and remove Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers from Pokemon like Moltres, Mandibuzz, and Hydreigon. Bulky Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn can be very useful for Toxapex; Heatran hard checks most of the Psychic-types in the tier, as well as being able to potentially trap and remove them with Magma Storm, whereas Ferrothorn covers Toxapex's Psychic- and Electric-type weakness and appreciates Toxapex covering its Fire- and Fighting-type weakness; in return, and run Knock Off to free up a moveslot on Toxapex for another utility option. Dark-types such as Obstagoon, Hydreigon, and Mandibuzz can be very useful, as they can cover Toxapex's Future Sight weakness, making it less prone to being overwhelmed by it. Setup sweepers such as Suicune and Spectrier are very weak to Toxic Spikes, so they appreciate Toxapex's ability to absorb them.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Poison Jab allows Toxapex to hit Tapu Fini for consistent damage, which would potentially beat Toxapex with a Calm Mind set otherwise. Shed Shell can be used to prevent being trapped by Magma Storm Heatran, which would otherwise beat Toxapex due to the combination of Magma Storm, Earth Power, and Taunt. Block can be used alongside Spite to both trap PP stall opposing Toxapex, crippling them significantly throughout the course of the game. Toxapex can use an alternative spread of 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD to take hits from Magearna and Tornadus-T much better while avoiding the OHKO from Timid Nidoking's Earth Power. It can use a Relaxed nature in order if it's using both Scald and Knock Off on the same set.

Checks and Counters
====

**Psychic-types**: Latios and Tapu Lele can threaten out and overwhelm Toxapex with their STAB moves; however, none of them want to switch into a Toxic, Scald, or Knock Off.

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko and Zapdos are examples of Pokemon that can threaten to OHKO Toxapex or deal serious damage to it. Zapdos in particular can remove Toxapex's Toxic Spikes; however, both need to be cautious of being heavily crippled by status effects or item removal.

**Ground-types**: Ground-type Pokemon such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Nidoking can deal heavy damage against it with their STAB moves; however, all of them can be worn down with Scald, and the former two can be potentially crippled by a burn, which can make them much less effective throughout the course of the game.

**Taunt**: Taunt is very detrimental to Toxapex, as it can be effectively shut down; Taunt users such as Tapu Fini and Heatran can render Toxapex useless and easily take advantage of it by using it as setup fodder in Tapu Fini's case or outright eliminate it through trapping in Heatran's case.

**Future Sight**: Future Sight can be troublesome for Toxapex. Slowbro, Slowking, and Galarian Slowking can open the door for wallbreakers such as Magearna and Cinderace with a Future Sight, as Toxapex will be overwhelmed by the combination of Future Sight damage and their attacks.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Toxapex is one of the best defensive Pokemon in the OU metagame.
  • With its amazing defenses, support movepool, reliable recovery and Regenerator, Toxapex is very hard to consistent wear down. Due to these qualities, Toxapex is able to fit on numerous balance teams and stall teams as a defensive pivot. Its defensive typing is also very important and a major reason toward why it's so difficult to take down; please highlight this as well!
  • Its high amount of utility options allow Toxapex to wear down and cripple many of the metagames top threats, such as Melmetal, Landorus-T and Cinderace, making it a hard Pokemon to switch into despite being a defensive Pokemon. These are decent mentions of Pokemon it can check with its options outside of Landorus-T, but your examples imply that they will be hard switching into Toxapex which they realistically will never do.
  • Toxapex unfortunately has to rely on status to consistently make progress against the opposing team, making it somewhat passive if it doesn't spread status. In general Toxapex is a passive Pokemon regardless of if it statuses the foe or not, so I think this sentence needs to be reworded to focus on that and how it has difficulty in dishing out offensive pressure unlike other walls in the tier.

[SET COMMENTS]

  • Knock Off allows Toxapex to cripple Pokemon such as Zapdos, Cinderace and Heatran that may switch into Toxapex by removing their Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers.
  • Haze prevents it from used as setup fodder by Pokemon like Magearna, Calm Mind Clefable, and Volcarona.
  • Toxic is great for crippling Pokemon such as Slowbro, Tornadus-T, Moltres and Mandibuzz by putting them on a timer, allowing its offensive teammates to overwhelm them.
  • Toxic Spikes is good for wearing down grounded Pokemon like Garchomp, Rillaboom and Spectrier. I think the focus here is a bit off. It's good for pressuring offensive Pokemon that want to find breaking opportunities, but it's also pretty good at pressuring walls that want to come in too. I think this point needs to be mentioned. Additionally, I feel this can possibly blended into the above bullet point since both Toxic and Toxic Spikes perform similarly but have different opportunity costs, such as the latter not being able to poison airborne Pokemon and being reliant on switch-ins, versus the former forcing Toxapex to be on the field to spread status toward its desired targets.
  • Toxapex can use an alternative spread of 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD to take hits from Choice Specs Magearna and Tornadus-T much better while preventing it from being KOd by Earth Power from Timid Nidoking. This goes into Other Options.
  • Offensive Pokemon that enjoy Toxapex's utility make for great teammates. Cinderace, Spectrier and Rillaboom appreciate its ability to remove items and spread status on Pokemon like Moltres, Mandibuzz and Hydreigon. Can these Pokemon eliminate or pressure any offensive Pokemon that trouble Toxapex defensively? Additionally, how do these Pokemon make use of Toxapex's utility?
  • Tangrowth works as a great partner for Toxapex; it covers its weakness to Electric- and Ground-type attacks whereas Toxapex covers Tangrowth's weakness to Fire-type and Ice-type attacks while also forming a potent Regenerator core. Furthermore, Tangrowth highly appreciates Toxapex's ability to absorb Toxic Spikes for it. Might be worth mentioning that Tangrowth can also run Knock Off and allow Toxapex to slot in a different utility option.
You don't address its item slot; please do so. I think you should also make a few more teammate mentions, particularly a couple more defensive partners that it can pair with. Tangrowth as your main defensive partner mention doesn't really rub me the right way when there are options like Ferrothorn, Heatran, Blissey, and Landorus-T that pair pretty well with it too.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

  • Baneful Bunker is great for giving Toxapex additional Black Sludge recovery if holding the item while also crippling Pokemon such as Cinderace and Rillaboom. Mention U-turn here since these Pokemon tend to want to pivot around Toxapex when it comes in, which can be a pretty consistent way to punish attempts at pivoting.
  • Shed Shell can be used to prevent it from being trapped by Magma Storm Heatran, which would otherwise beat Toxapex due to the combination of Magma Storm, Earth Power and Taunt.
  • Block can be used alongside Spite to both trap and drain the PP of the opposing Toxapex, making them significantly crippled throughout the course of the game.

A very relevant thing it hates dealing with that you don't at all mention though is Taunt, which completely shuts it down in most scenarios.

This is good, but it should also explicitly mention how it can act as a sturdy check to Cinderace and Magearna, as that's a huge part of Toxapex's appeal.

Knock Off allows Toxapex to cripple Pokemon such as Zapdos, Cinderace and Heatran that may switch into Toxapex by removing their Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers. Haze prevents it from used as setup fodder by Pokemon like Magearna, Calm Mind Clefable, and Volcarona and Suicune. Toxic is great for crippling Pokemon such as Slowbro, Tornadus-T, Moltres Hydreigon and Mandibuzz by putting them on a timer, allowing its offensive teammates to overwhelm them. Moltres should rarely stay in on Toxapex anyway due to the risk of Knock Off, Hydreigon is a better mention here. Whereas,Toxic Spikes is used for wearing down grounded Pokemon like Garchomp, Rillaboom and Spectrier and Tapu Fini, as well as defensive Pokemon like Tyranitar and Tangrowth; unfortunately, it can easily be removed which makes it inconsistent at spreading status as it cannot target vital airborne Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hydreigon. Explicitly mention opposing Poison-types like Slowking-Galar and Toxapex absorbing it. Talk about Baneful Bunker here. Rocky Helmet allows Toxapex to punish Pokemon such as Cinderace, Rillaboom and Kartana, while also punishing U-turn attempts from Pokemon such as the aforementioned Cinderace, Tornadus-T and Dragapult. It doesn't really punish Tornadus-T's U-turn significantly due to Regenerator. Black Sludge can be used as an alternative however as additional recovery after the end of each turn. Add that Black Sludge is better for Trick scenarios too. Mention how Bold is to be used with Scald, Impish with Knock Off, and Relaxed with both.

^Make sure to reorder this in accordance to the new slashed moves order.

Offensive Pokemon that enjoy Toxapex's utility make for great teammates. Cinderace, Spectrier and Rillaboom appreciate its ability spread poison and remove the Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers off Pokemon like Moltres, Mandibuzz and Hydreigon. Tangrowth works as a great partner for Toxapex; it covers its weakness to Electric- and Ground-type attacks whereas Toxapex covers Tangrowth's weakness to Fire-type and Ice-type attacks while also forming a potent Regenerator core. Furthermore, Tangrowth highly appreciates Toxapex's ability to absorb Toxic Spikes for it. Tangrowth can also run Knock Off, allowing Toxapex to run another utility option such as Toxic Spikes and Toxic. Heatran also pairs very well with Toxapex, as it hard checks most of the Psychic-types in the tier as well as being able to potentially remove them by trapping them Magma Storm. Ferrothorn is a great partner for Toxapex as it covers its Psychic- and Electric-type weakness while Toxapex helps with its Fire- and Fighting-type weakness, and much like Tangrowth it can run Knock Off, allowing Toxapex to free a moveslot for another utility option. You can expand this to bulky Steel-types in general being good partners to Toxapex thanks to their ability to check Psychic-types like Tapu Lele and Latios.

Dark-types like Hydreigon and Mandibuzz should be discussed in this paragraph for Future Sight counterplay. It should also include how Toxapex pairs well with setup sweepers like Spectrier and Suicune as it can absorb Toxic Spikes for them. Hex users like Spectrier and Dragapult also benefit from Toxapex spreading burns and poison. Tangrowth shouldn't be half of this paragraph, it doesn't see that much OU usage. Also, don't put too much emphasis on type weaknesses, covering specific matchups is more important.

Baneful Bunker is great for giving Toxapex additional Black Sludge recovery if holding the item while also crippling Pokemon such as Cinderace and Rillaboom, which can also be punished for pivoting attempts against Toxapex. Add how it allows you to scout Choice item users like Magearna and Tapu Lele as well, and move this up to set comments. Shed Shell can be used to prevent it from being trapped by Magma Storm Heatran, which would otherwise beat Toxapex due to the combination of Magma Storm, Earth Power and Taunt. Block can be used alongside Spite to both trap and drain the PP of the opposing Toxapex, making them significantly crippled throughout the course of the game. Toxapex can use an alternative spread of 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD to take hits from Choice Specs Magearna and Tornadus-T much better while preventing it from being KOd by Earth Power from Timid Nidoking. Up to full Special Defense is viable I'd say.

**Psychic-types**: Latios, Tapu Lele and to a lesser extent Slowbro can threaten out and overwhelm Toxapex with their STAB moves, however none of them want to switch into a Toxic, Scald or Knock Off.

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko and Zapdos are examples of Pokemon that can threaten to OHKO Toxapex or deal serious damage to it, Zapdos in particular can remove Toxapex's Toxic Spikes, however both need to be cautious of being heavily crippled by status or item removal.

**Ground-types**: Ground-type Pokemon such as Garchomp, Landorus-T and Hippowdon can dish out heavily damage against it with their STAB moves, however all of them can be crippled by a Scald burn, which can make them much less effective throughout the course of the game. I don't consider Hippowdon a Toxapex check, it's much more likely to be burned or poisoned than to take out Toxapex. Talk about Nidoking here instead.

**Taunt**: Taunt is very detrimental to Toxapex, as it can be effectively shut down; Taunt users such as Tapu Fini and Heatran can render Toxapex useless and easily take advantage of it by either using it as setup fodder in Tapu Fini's case, or outright eliminate it through trapping in Heatran's case.

Add a Future Sight section for Slowbro and Slowking(-Galar) and elaborate on how it can enable threats like Cinderace and Magearna vs Toxapex.

[SET COMMENTS]

You should talk about Scald and its burn capacity here since it's slashed with Knock Off.
Knock Off allows Toxapex to cripple Pokemon such as Zapdos, Cinderace Tornadus-T, and Heatran that may switch into Toxapex by removing their Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers. It doesn't really make sense for Cinderace to switch into Toxapex under normal circumstances. Haze prevents it from used as setup fodder by Pokemon like Magearna, Calm Mind Clefable, Volcarona, and Suicune. Toxic is great for crippling Pokemon such as Slowbro, Tornadus-T, Hydreigon and Mandibuzz by putting them on a timer, allowing its offensive teammates to overwhelm them. Whereas Toxic Spikes is used for wearing down grounded Pokemon like Garchomp, Rillaboom, Spectrier, and Tapu Fini, as well as defensive Pokemon like Tyranitar and Tangrowth; unfortunately, it can easily be removed which makes it inconsistent at spreading status as it cannot target vital airborne Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hydreigon and is often absorbed by Poison-types such as opposing Toxapex and Galarian Slowking. Baneful Bunker is great for giving Toxapex additional Black Sludge recovery if holding the item while also crippling Pokemon such as Cinderace and Rillaboom, which can also be punished for pivoting attempts against Toxapex while also scouting Choice-locked Pokemon such as Magearna and Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Tapu Lele. Tapu Lele is an important mention here as it is often used to force out Toxapex, and Baneful Bunker scouting what move it goes for makes it much easier to deal with defensively. Rocky Helmet allows Toxapex to punish Pokemon such as Cinderace, Rillaboom, and Kartana, while also punishing U-turn attempts from Pokemon such as the aforementioned Cinderace, Corviknight, and Dragapult. Black Sludge can be used as an alternative however as additional recovery after the end of each turn while also helping Toxapex in Trick scenarios. Should probably elaborate that it doesn't help Toxapex directly but rather cripples the Trick user. A Bold nature is generally the preferred nature of choice, however Impish can be used over Bold if Toxapex uses Knock Off over Scald, and a Relaxed nature can be used over both if Toxapex is using both Scald and Knock Off.

Offensive Pokemon that enjoy Toxapex's utility make for great teammates. This as the first line makes the reader think Toxapex mainly fits on offensive teams, so I'd just leave it out. Teammates like Cinderace, Spectrier and Rillaboom appreciate its ability spread poison and remove the Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers off Pokemon like Moltres, Mandibuzz and Hydreigon. Bulky Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn can be very useful for Toxapex, Heatran hard checks most of the Psychic-types in the tier as well as being able to potentially remove them by trapping them Magma Storm, whereas Ferrothorn is a great partner for Toxapex as it covers its Psychic- and Electric-type weakness while Toxapex helps with its Fire- and Fighting-type weakness, and much like Tangrowth it can run Knock Off, allowing Toxapex to free a moveslot for another utility option. You say "much like Tangrowth" but haven't mentioned Tangrowth in this paragraph before. You can definitely have a line about Tangrowth here, just not three like before. Dark-types such as Obstagoon, Hydreigon and Mandibuzz can be very useful alongside it as they can cover Toxapex's Future Sight weakness, making it less prone to being overwhelmed by it. Setup sweepers such as Suicune and Spectrier are very weak to Toxic Spikes, so they appreciate Toxapex's ability to absorb.

Forgot to mention this in my previous check, but Poison Jab, mostly for Tapu Fini, should be here too.
Toxapex can use an alternative spread of 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD or more Special Defense to take hits from Choice Specs (it helps vs any Magearna) Magearna and Tornadus-T much better while preventing it from being KOd by Earth Power from Timid Nidoking.

Checks and Counters
====

**Psychic-types**: Latios, Tapu Lele and to a lesser extent Slowbro can threaten out and overwhelm Toxapex with their STAB moves, however none of them want to switch into a Toxic, Scald or Knock Off. Slowbro is covered in the Future Sight section now.

**Ground-types**: Ground-type Pokemon such as Garchomp, Landorus-T and Nidoking can dish out heavily damage against it with their STAB moves, however all of them can be crippled by a Scald burn, which can make them much less effective throughout the course of the game. Maybe a bit pedantic, but Nidoking cares more about Scald's damage or Knock Off removing its Life Orb than Scald's burn effect.

**Future Sight**: Future Sight can be troublesome for Toxapex. Slowbro, Slowking and Galarian Slowking can heavily enable wallbreakers such as Magearna and Cinderace with a Future Sight set up, as Toxapex will be overwhelmed by the combination of Future Sight damage and their attacks.

[OVERVIEW]

Toxapex is one of the best defensive Pokemon in the OU metagame. With its amazing defenses, great defensive typing, support movepool, reliable recovery,(AC) and Regenerator, Toxapex is both very hard to wear down and able to check common metagame threats such as Cinderace and Magearna. Due Thanks to these qualities, Toxapex is able to fit on numerous balance teams and stall teams as a defensive pivot. Its high amount number of utility options allow Toxapex to wear down and cripple many of the metagames top threats,(RC) such as Mandibuzz, Ferrothorn, and Heatran, making it a hard Pokemon to switch into despite being a defensive Pokemon. Toxapex unfortunately has trouble dishing out offensive pressure due to its underwhelming offensive stats,(RC) thus to make progress it will either spread status with poisons or burns or it will remove items with Knock Off ;(ASC) therefore,(AC) its only way of making progress will be by either spreading status such as poison and burn or removing items with Knock Off.

Scald allows it to heavily damage Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Nidoking and being able to potentially burn and cripple Pokemon such as Garchomp and Ferrothorn. Knock Off allows Toxapex to cripple Pokemon such as Zapdos, Torndaus Tornadus-T,(AC) and Heatran that may switch into Toxapex by removing their Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers,(AC) respectively. Haze prevents it from being used as setup fodder by Pokemon like Magearna, Calm Mind Clefable, Volcarona, and Suicune. Toxic is great for crippling Pokemon such as Slowbro, Tornadus-T, Hydreigon,(AC) and Mandibuzz by putting them on a timer, allowing its offensive teammates to overwhelm them. Whereas Toxic Spikes is used for wearing down grounded Pokemon like Garchomp, Rillaboom, Spectrier, and Tapu Fini, as well as defensive Pokemon like Tyranitar and Tangrowth; unfortunately, it can easily be removed,(AC) which makes it inconsistent at spreading status,(AC) as it cannot target vital airborne non-grounded Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hydreigon and is often absorbed by Poison-types such as opposing Toxapex and Galarian Slowking. Baneful Bunker is great for giving Toxapex additional Black Sludge recovery if holding the item while also crippling Pokemon such as Cinderace and Rillaboom,(RC) which can also be punished for pivoting attempts attempting to pivot against Toxapex while also and scouting Choice-locked Pokemon such as Magearna, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Tapu Lele. Rocky Helmet allows Toxapex to punish Pokemon such as Cinderace, Rillaboom, and Kartana,(RC) while also punishing U-turn attempts from Pokemon such as the aforementioned Cinderace, Corviknight, and Dragapult. Black Sludge can be used as an alternative however as item to gain additional recovery after at the end of each turn while also helping Toxapex in Trick scenarios by crippling the Trick user. A Bold nature is generally the preferred nature of choice,(RC) ;(ASC) however,(AC) Impish can be used over Bold if Toxapex uses Knock Off over Scald, and a Relaxed nature can be used over both if Toxapex is using both Scald and Knock Off.

Teammates like Cinderace, Spectrier,(AC) and Rillaboom appreciate its ability to spread poison and remove the Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers off from Pokemon like Moltres, Mandibuzz,(AC) and Hydreigon. Bulky Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn can be very useful for Toxapex,(RC) ;(ASC) Heatran hard checks most of the Psychic-types in the tier,(AC) as well as being able to potentially trap and remove them by trapping them with Magma Storm, whereas Ferrothorn is a great partner for Toxapex as it covers its Toxapex's Psychic- and Electric-type weakness while Toxapex helps with ,(AC) it appreciates Toxapex covering its Fire- and Fighting-type weakness, and,(AC) much like Tangrowth,(AC) it can run Knock Off, allowing Toxapex to free freeing up a moveslot on Toxapex for another utility option. Dark-types such as Obstagoon, Hydreigon,(AC) and Mandibuzz can be very useful alongside it ,(AC) as they can cover Toxapex's Future Sight weakness, making it less prone to being overwhelmed by it. Setup sweepers such as Suicune and Spectrier are very weak to Toxic Spikes, so they appreciate Toxapex's ability to absorb them.

Other Options

Poison Jab allows it to hit Tapu Fini for consistent damage, which would potentially beat Toxapex if it is with a Calm Mind set. Shed Shell can be used to prevent it from being trapped by Magma Storm Heatran, which would otherwise beat Toxapex due to the combination of Magma Storm, Earth Power,(AC) and Taunt. Block can be used alongside Spite to both trap and drain the PP of the stall opposing Toxapex, making them significantly crippled throughout the course of the game. Toxapex can use an alternative spread of 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD or more special defense (this isn't very specific, either mention the alternative SpDef spread or simply remove this) to take hits from Magearna and Tornadus-T much better while preventing it from being KOd by Earth Power avoiding the OHKO from Timid Nidoking's Earth Power.

Checks and Counters

**Psychic-types**: Latios and Tapu Lele can threaten out and overwhelm Toxapex with their STAB moves,(RC) ;(ASC) however,(AC) none of them want to switch into a Toxic, Scald,(AC) or Knock Off.

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko and Zapdos are examples of Pokemon that can threaten to OHKO Toxapex or deal serious damage to it,(RC) .(AP) Zapdos in particular can remove Toxapex's Toxic Spikes,(RC) ;(ASC) however,(AC) both need to be cautious of being heavily crippled by status effects or item removal.

**Ground-types**: Ground-type Pokemon such as Garchomp, Landorus-T,(AC) and Nidoking can dish out heavily deal heavy damage against it with their STAB moves,(RC) ;(ASC) however,(AC) all of them can be worn down with Scald, and the former 2 especially as they can be can potentially be burned by it two can be potentially crippled by a burn, which can make them much less effective throughout the course of the game.

Scald allows it Toxapex to heavily damage Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Nidoking and potentially burn and cripple Pokemon foes (repetition) such as Garchomp and Ferrothorn, (comma) while Knock Off allows Toxapex to cripple Pokemon Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers users such as Zapdos, Tornadus-T, and Heatran that may switch into Toxapex by removing their Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers, respectively it. Haze prevents it Toxapex from being used as setup fodder by Pokemon like Magearna, Calm Mind Clefable, Volcarona, and Suicune. Toxic is great for crippling putting Pokemon such as Slowbro, Tornadus-T, Hydreigon, and Mandibuzz by putting them on a timer, allowing its Toxapex's offensive teammates to overwhelm them, (comma) while Toxic Spikes is used an option for wearing down grounded Pokemon like Garchomp, Rillaboom, Spectrier, and Tapu Fini (RC) as well as defensive Pokemon like Tyranitar and Tangrowth; unfortunately, it can easily be removed, which makes it inconsistent at spreading status, as it cannot target vital non-grounded Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hydreigon, (AC) and is often absorbed by Poison-types such as opposing Toxapex and Galarian Slowking, which makes it inconsistent at spreading status. Lastly, Baneful Bunker is great for giving Toxapex additional Black Sludge recovery while also crippling Pokemon such as Cinderace and Rillaboom attempting to pivot against Toxapex and scouting Choice-locked Pokemon such as Magearna, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Tapu Lele, as well as potentially racking up additional Black Sludge recovery. A Bold nature is generally preferred; however, Impish can be used if Toxapex uses Knock Off over Scald, and a Relaxed nature can be used over both if Toxapex is using both Scald and Knock Off.

(slashing is kinda whack, having knock off as a slash after scald and also as a primary option reads super unintuitive, and you also have bold as the primary nature slash as well as knock off as a main slash. which is fine tbh since i don't suppose you're using knock off as a damaging tool, but at that point also better to remove the relaxed slash since context suggests it's not a very important option)

Teammates like Cinderace, Spectrier, and Rillaboom appreciate its Toxapex's ability to spread poison and remove Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers from Pokemon like Moltres, Mandibuzz, and Hydreigon. Bulky Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn can be very useful for Toxapex; Heatran hard checks most of the Psychic-types in the tier, as well as being able to potentially trap and remove them with Magma Storm, whereas Ferrothorn covers Toxapex's Psychic- and Electric-type weakness, it and appreciates Toxapex covering its Fire- and Fighting-type weakness; in return and, much like Tangrowth, (not mentioned anywhere else?) it can run Knock Off, freeing to free up a moveslot on Toxapex for another utility option.
