Trapinch @ Eviolite
Ability: Arena Trap
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 196 Atk / 156 Def / 76 SpD / 36 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Feint
- First Impression
Trapinch, with its monstrous Attack stat and decent bulk, establishes itself as a fearsome trapper in Little Cup. It loves trapping and OHKOing foes like Stunky, Elekid, Glimmet, and Hisuian Growlithe with Earthquake; this aids offensive teammates that otherwise struggle with them, such as Vullaby, Wingull, and Shellder. Stone Edge enables it to hit Flying-types like Vullaby and Wingull. Feint is another form of priority in addition to First Impression that allows Trapinch to pick off weakened foes and bypass Protect from Pokemon like Shellder. Tera Bug powers up First Impression to get vital KOs on Toedscool and Gothita, although it leaves Trapinch vulnerable to Stealth Rock afterward. Trapinch is best paired with Pokemon that have access to pivoting moves like U-turn that allow it to switch in and trap the target with ease.
