These are Seán and Eibhlín Cinnsealach; a middle-aged couple she has never met. #Soft Flex
Film:
Role Models
Genre: Comedy
Description: After years of unhappiness reach a boiling point, a reckless stunt puts a man and his friend/co-worker on the hook for prison time unless they complete mandatory community service in the form of a big brother program to a pair of awkward/troubled youth.

Recently rewatched it and re-realized just how underrated this comedy is. Everyone kills it in their role, the jokes still hold up and it doesn't suffer from the classic comedy film dilemma of having a very strong, front-loaded joke flurry while the rest of the film drags just to tie up story threads.

@ The Benz Mafia
Film:
The Sunshine Boys (1975)
Genre: Comedy
IMDb Synopsis: A vaudeville duo agree to reunite for a television special, but it turns out that they can't stand each other.

Show:
Among Us
Genre: Animation, Comedy, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller
IMDb Synopsis: Eccentric, monochromatic crewmates of a ship transporting junk across the galaxy must root out an impostor in their midst before they fall victim to its villainous designs.

Zip's Zaps: I promise you this show is actually better than you think it is. The mystery is well constructed and it is fairly short as well - not a huge time investment. This is worth checking out even if you only loosely know the source material.

%ParkerMayCry
Show:
Black Bird
Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller
IMDb Synopsis: Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison but he cuts a deal with the FBI to befriend a suspected serial killer. Keene has to elicit a confession from Larry Hall to find the bodies of as many as eighteen women.

Obsession
Genre: Psychological Horror/Thriller
IMDb Synopsis: Baron "Bear" Bailey breaks a novelty charm to force his co-worker Nikki Freeman to love him, but the supernatural compulsion warps her mind into violent obsession, trapping him in a nightmare he cannot wish away.

Parker's Point: This entire movie could have been prevented with, like many films, communication. That being said, this was better than I thought it would be and I think Texas Chainsaw is in very safe hands with Mr. Barker (no relation to Clive).

Television

#Soft Flex
Film:
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Description: If I'm being honest, this adaptation is complete buns. The title takes its name from the first of many amazing books within the Dragonlance/D&D franchise by the author duo of Weis/Hickman, but they really took the charm out of it when they boiled the story down to its absolute bare bones. And this was 5-6 years or so after I picked up the series on a whim, and was really looking forward to it.

So why recommend it if it failed to meet any expectations? Well, because the same thing is possibly about to happen to another beloved franchise of mine in the form of a Golden Axe animated series coming to Paramount next month, which has been transformed from the side-scrolling beat 'em up games of my younger years to a goofy meta comedy set in the same universe. There is still potential, but yeesh. My recommendation this week is to temper your expectations. The trailer dropped today, so take a peek and draw your own conclusions!

Film:
Mortal Kombat II
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Description: I finally got around to checking out the sequel to the 2021 reboot that released earlier this year, and I was quite satisfied with the result. I've given up hoping for a new film to recapture the perfect balance of fun, action-packed, campy, stylish and rewatchable that the 1995 film had, and I can settle for action-packed and rewatchable. This movie sets a faster pace than its predecessor and foregoes heavy exposition dumps for more fights, with locations ripped straight out of the video games. They also introduced several characters for the first time in this iteration, that I won't spoil here. Very fun - go watch!
