As silly as Food is, it makes perfect sense. Pokémon get silly all the time, so it's not like that's an argument anyways. A Food-type would be fun to work with.

Typing: The Mod {Slate #9 (Food Type) - Submission phase}
Congrats to Tuthur1 for winning this phase with his food type! We're heading toward the next submission phase, but as I have mentioned over and over this last few weeks, things will be slightly differently. Please read the rules, especially the ones in red
In submission phase, you can submit for any of these:
- Matchups (complete list, one per user)
- New abilities
- New items
- Modification on older of those things
- Pokemon modifications (you have to give the healer type to the pokemon you modify, but you can modify other things as well if you want the pokemon to be usable in upper tiers)
When doing modification on pre-existing stuff, or when creating a new ability or item, be sure to have a maximum of explication so we can clearly understand how it is linked to the new type. It will be refused if it's not relevant enough.
Also, remember that distribution for custom moves and abilities will be discussed in the distribution phase next week, but feel free to post examples.
Additionally, in this slate, you may not submit moves. We will have another phase dedicated to that later. The reasoning for this is 1- to keep my mental sanity 2- since we're probably going to go over the top with the moves, I prefer that we have an actual phase where we can discuss about all of that.
Finally, this is not so much a rule than a recommandation, but for god's sake, when submitting pokemon retypings, please make sure you're the first person to submit this exact retyping. I don't mind if two or three pokemons get submitted multiple times by mistake, but it's annoying seeing the same walls of suggestions over and over. It's getting almost impossible to have everything in one single post. If you want to submit a modification, just make sure you submit with a different typing and/or give other modifiactions.

New Abilities:
Sugar Rush: On every odd turn, the user gains +2 stages in Speed. On every even turn, the user gains -2 stages in Speed. Before applying the stat
change, the user's Speed stat changes will be reset first. (Sugar rushes will make you hyper then super tired afterwards)
Starvation: When the user is hit by a Food-type move, the user will take no damage and gains 50% HP. (Water Absorb/Volt Absorb/whatever else there is clone)
Food Poisoning: The user's Food-type moves all have a 30% chance of poisoning the target. (I don't think this one needs too much explaining)
Well Done: If the user is hit by a Fire-type move, the user will gain +1 stage in Defense and Special Defense and will take no damage. (Well done meat such as steak is really hard, so its durability is higher I guess lol, also who eats steak well done lmao)
Exotic: The user's moves that aren't the same type as the user do 30% more damage. Moves that are the same type as the user do 50% less damage. (When you try exotic foods it's often that you're trying something new, so you're trying something new in giving the STAB boost too "exotic" moves instead of the moves of the same type as the user) Edit: Nerfed the 50% more damage to 30% as it might easily get out of hand.
New Items:

Foodium Z: Standard Z-Crystal. (The name is so funny to me lol)
Hunger Plate/Food Memory: Standard Plate/Memory.
Second Serving: When hit by a Food-type move, the user uses the move back onto the opponent. Consumed, but can be recovered. (Kind of going for a Mirror Move type item here, thought it would be cool)
Food Basket: When equipped on a Food-type user, grants the user 1/16th HP each turn. (A crappy Leftovers clone? You'll see why in a second)

To explain: Water tends to be absorbed by food, such as breads and vegetation, hence the SE and Immunity factor. If you feed a ghost who is like a sheet, he gonna get fat. And heart? It may be more the arteries, but your heart doesn't want the clog!
Grasses and vegetation are practically food thus it resists food (but there's no way in hell you're dragging up an eighth type to resist poor grass.)
Ice is the fridge, it tends to put food in stasis, and Bugs tend to eat food. Normies love food! Seriously, Ratatta? They love scavenging? The normal birds? They'll pick at what they can! Bidoof? He can gnaw through any meal thrown at him!

Farfetch'd is based on a Japanese saying that is something along the lines of "a duck appears bearing green onions". The significance is that duck is often cooked with green onions in Japan, so it's used as a metaphor for events that are surprising yet convenient. Farfetch'd being a duck holding green onions thus essentially represents an easy meal, hence the Food type.
Miltank produces milk, and is a domesticated farm animal that feeds millions. Pretty simple.
I wouldn't just make any mushroom a food type, but Shiinotic is based on a shiitake, which is one of the most popular edible mushrooms. Food / Light may seem like an awkward type but its coloration is actually great for it.
Abilities:
Insatiable: This pokemon is immune to Food-type attacks. When hit by one, its Food-type attacks become stronger.
Strong Stomach: This pokemon takes 50% from Poison- and Food-type moves.
Sampler: When this pokemon lands a biting or draining move, it gains a 50% bonus to biting and draining moves against enemies who share a type with the defending pokemon. Upon activating, it will say "[pokemon] has acquired a taste for [type] types!". The effect ends upon switching out.
Burnt Ends: This pokemon regains 1/6 of its HP at the end of each turn if it is burned.
Irresistible: This pokemon's SpD is increased by 50% but it takes double damage from biting and draining moves.

Food / Psychic, Food / Dark, and Food / Ice are good coverage combos that many proposed Food types will have access to. Although it has a lot of weaknesses, none of them should be particularly bad ones, and its few resists are pretty nice.

Intended Buff: Allows Hariyama to take advantage of its high HP with better Special Defense and slightly better Defense.

Base Stats (Wailord): 170 HP / 110 Atk / 80 Def / 90 SpA / 50 SpD / 60 Spe
Intended Buff: Help Wailord to become more useful Trick Room Offensive member with better Attack and a bit more tolerable Defense.
Tropius
Base Stats: 99 HP / 113 Atk / 83 Def / 102 SpA / 92 SpD / 51 Spe
Intended Buff: Allows Tropius to use its Abilities better, especially Solar Power (if it keeps it).
Gulpin and Swalot
Base Stats (Swalot): 100 HP / 113 Atk / 83 Def / 113 SpA / 83 SpD / 55 Spe
Intended Buff: Another potential useful member of a Trick Room team. Swalot lacked Recover or other viable recovery moves, so it stats focuses on its unorthodox (even for a Poison-type) move learnset while being able to abuse Curse, especially useful in such Trick Room team, and have its own Earthquake and Fire Punch to penetrate Steel-types. Glutonny and a potential new Food move will help it recover.
Gourmandize
Function(s): Turn Normal-type moves into Food-type and their power are boosted by 20%.
Intended Use(s): A standard -ize Ability with a classy name (the French words "gourmandise".)
Berry Lover
Function(s): Consuming a Berry will give a boost to the user's higher Attack or Special Attack by 1 stage.
Intended Use(s): Encourage use of Sitrus Berry and other consumable berries that don't see much uses.
Function(s): Turn Normal-type moves into Food-type and their power are boosted by 20%.
Intended Use(s): A standard -ize Ability with a classy name (the French words "gourmandise".)

Spitballing some food-related abilities here, trying not to copy abilities other have already suggested:
