Uber Manaphy Rainsweep(with a side salad)

Keep in mind this is my first uber team and one of the few teams I've made, considering I'm still a beginner. It's had varying degrees of success, but with a little work, it could really be good.

255 Base FTW (Kyogre) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder

Rain set up and good special sweeper. Other than that, basic Scarfogre. Speed comes out to 688 which is good enough to outspeed anything. Water Spout really holds this set together, with the ability to OHKO a lot of things with it's 255 Base Power mixed with pwnsome speed(hence the nickname 255 Base FTW.)

What are we doing here? (Mew) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Rock Polish
- Substitute
- Hypnosis
- Baton Pass

Pure speed passer. Bring this in on something slow, put it to sleep, Substitute on the switch and Rock Polish. If I can, Rock Polish twice to outspeed anything(mostly). Then, pass to Manaphy for the link that holds this team together. The only reason he is on this team is that Manaphy is suspectable to fast Thunders. If anyone has a way to fix that, tell me.

I'm pwning in the rain. I'm pwning in the rain. What a wonderful feeling, I'm pwning again. (Palkia) @ Lustrous Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 6 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Aqua Tail
- Surf
- Thunder
- Spacial Rend

Big dragon thing.... It can sweep anything and everything considering it's mixed nature. Plus STAB from 3 of the 4 moves as well as a Lustrious Orb bonus. All around awsome Pokemon.

You didn't... (Kabutops) (M) @ Muscle Band
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 24 HP/252 Atk/232 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Aerial Ace

Physical sweeper who takes advantage of the rain. Usually comes out after Palkia. Can't say much more about him. He works like a sweeper.

Bird Dragon Thing (Lugia) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/52 Def/204 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roost
- Reflect
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave

A really great Pokemon to ward off those physical bad guys(Groudon and DDQuaza). Just set up Reflect and stop them as much as possible! Once again, pretty standard...

Where did I come from, exactly? (Deoxys-f) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Superpower
- Thunder
- Shadow Ball
- Ice Beam

Lati counter/revenge killer. This guy really can dent a lot. Only problem is that he's fragile and I need to switch into him on a kill. But, he solves my Lati problem and many more. Great guy.

Well, there you have it. If anyone has another idea for a Lati counter, I'm glad to take it. Constructive critisism only please. And Mods(or whatever they're called here) my old team thread I asked to be locked. So don't lock this one please.

I am new to uber play so some of my suggestions might not help too much, but I might as well throw them out there.

1. The number of scarf Kyogre leads is ridiculous. If you switch it to a specs Kyogre, you will be able to survive thunder coming from a choice scarf Kyogre and OHKO it with a choice specs Kyogre.

2. You may also consider Electivire. With your team's (and main sweeper's) electricity weakness and thunder flying around everywhere, getting in a speed boost might not be too hard. You could switch it out for Kabutops.

3. A Groudon can come in after Kyogre is down and ruin Manaphy and Kabutops for the most part. Without hydration being active and surf having a decreased power, you won't be sweeping too much.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that ScarfOgre can reach 688 speed... it maxes out at 306, thus hitting 459 with a Scarf.

Anyways, Manaphy really just sweeps too slow. 100 base speed is adequate, but not when you are using set up moves. Despite not having Tail Glow, Palkia is a superior water in Ubers. It 2HKOs everything in the game and its best counter is Latias, who can sometimes be OHKOed by Spacial Rend on the switch, and always OHKOed by Draco Meteor. With a Lustrous Orb, Palkia can rampage without hurting itself, with still a great boost to 3/4 of its moves, including Aqua Tail, Surf, and Spacial Rend/Draco Meteor. With 150 base special attack, 120 base attack, and 100 base speed, why settle for the immediately less powerful Manaphy in a tier where a single move can lose you the battle?

As muna said above, Electivire could be an excellent choice with all the Thunders running about. With a STAB Thunder of its own to work with, and Cross Chop to fend off Tyranitar and Blissey, 'Vire could wreck havoc.

Choice Specs Kyogre is probably one of the best leads out there, however I do not think it is necessary on this team. SpecsOgre would be useful on a team with a Groudon waiting, and some Chlorophyllers. This way, you take out their Kyogre by surprise, then you have the decision to bring the rain back or not.

That Bronzong is just a waste of a slot IMO. With most Darkrai packing Taunt, Sleep Talkers aren't cut out to counter him. You would be better off switching him in just to activate sleep clause, then switch out to something who can counter Darkrai. It doesn't seem like anything on this team can do so tho, but Kyogre could revenge kill it if you don't get smacked by Thunder.

Manaphy is a poor uber sweeper, a much better alternative would be Palkia. Palkia is the same speed as Manaphy, true, but it has better Special Defense and much more attack, as well as having a great attacking combo. It is also not destroyed by a well predicted weather changer (Groudon, Rayquaza, Ttar).

I'm also going to take the liberty of recommending Bronzong change to a Banded U-turning Scizor for a better Lati counter than the Deoxys you use, as it can't come in.

That's all for now.

If you want a REALLY cheap way to get rid of ScarfOgres, use a Palkia starter. I would suggest giving it a Lum Berry for Darkrai starters as well. Afterwards, give it Draco Meteor and Surf for general STAB. Give it Focus Punch to stop Blissey, and Fire Blast for opposing steels. wait: how does this stop ScarfOgre!

Another member of the team you should use is Dugtrio! Once you know your opponent is locked into Thunder, simply switch in Dugtrio. BAM! easy kill.

To help things further, try using a SubLiechi. that way you can even feel the opposing Kyogre feel even more useless as you set up a barrier. this makes it ideal to abuse Sucker Punch, as you can easily set up a sub while threatening to kill. The last move should be Toxic: call me crazy, but it neuters those Lati@s and Lugias who think they can set up on you.

So it would be:

Dugtrio @ Liechi Berry
Arena Trap: Jolly
252 Attack, 4 Defense, 252 Speed
Earthquake
Substitute
Sucker Punch
Toxic

You have a big problem with Jolly, DD Rayquaza. It can easily set up on Manaphy, especially if it comes in on a Rest. From there, Outrage will OHKO everything (2HKO on Bronzong) and can easily Extreme Speed your Deoxys-f. Further more Rock Polish Groudon, or really most sets will give you trouble as your team is very dependent on the Rain. Groudon can also easily come in on Bronzong and Kabutops, also giving it a free turn of setup. These two offensive threats are also made more dangerous as you lack a Physical Wall.

I'd reccommend a Lugia with Thunder Wave support if you really need to slow certain things down. The standard Great Wall set from the analysis should fare well.

I see what you are saying about Manaphy being weak compared to Palkia. He's coming out right now for a standard Palkia set(Mixed with Lustrious Orb).

I was considering a Lugia, but I already had 3 Electric Weak on my team, so I opted for Bronzong. Now that Palkia is in, I'm going to use Lugia, now that my weakness is less.

So, edit!

I'm going to test the team without Electivire for now. If it seems like I need it, I will put it in.
