Welcome to the Ubers Retro Cup IV! This tournament will have you exploring metagames of an age long gone, those of classics and nostalgia. Many seasoned champions and newer but fiery trainers will gather to stake their claim as the best. Can you alone master the legends of these iconic generations of long ago?

2025 Ubers Circuit information can be found here. This tournament is part of the 2025 Ubers Old Gen Circuit.
This tournament will be Single Elimination.
This tournament will feature a Best of 3 of RBY Ubers, GSC Ubers, and ADV Ubers. No generation may be repeated in a series.
The metagame that is first played is not fixed or decided by the host. You may gentleman to play a specific tier first, or use the !pick command in private Showdown messaging with your opponent.
Replays are mandatory from quarterfinals (top 16) onwards.
Other important information
Identity
Playing on alts
You may use a Showdown username that does not match your Smogon username. However, if your opponent wishes to confirm your identity, you must oblige, either by posting on their wall by telling them the Showdown account you are on, or by logging into your main Showdown account to prove your identity. This is to prevent people from pretending to be who they're not.
Playing on different servers
Matches must be played on either the Smogtours server or the Main PS! server. Other servers are not sanctioned by the host(s) and playing in them will result in your game not counting.
Smogtours is the default and is recommended by the host for a variety of reasons, but both players may gentleman to play on the Main PS! server if they so desire.
Scouting
Scouting opponents
Scouting, or going through your opponents replays of tournament and ladder games, is allowed: as long as a game is public, there is nothing preventing you from watching it. The exception to this rule is abusing Smogon / PS! staff powers to gain access to information a normal user wouldn't have access to - this is strictly forbidden.
Leaking teams
Divulging private information about someone's preparations and potential teams to their opponent is disallowed, and will be heavily sanctioned. Requesting that such information be divulged is also grounds for punishment. As a general rule of thumb, keep your scouting to publicly available information, and you'll be fine.
Scheduling
Please use public Smogon wall messages to schedule with your opponent. This makes it easier for me to track activity calls when needed. Any other methods used to schedule will be ignored in activity decisions. Please use this guide to scheduling to ensure you don't lose via activity or coinflip.
Extensions for those with time conflicts will only be given when proof is provided of scheduling with their opponent in the beginning of the round, so do not schedule last minute expecting to be compensated in case of timezone conflicts or be given an activity win over your opponent. Extensions will not be given if there is no scheduled time / sufficient scheduling.
