Introduction

Heyo, and welcome to the first Ubers Teambuilding Competition of SM! To those of you who are new to these sort of competitions, allow me to give a brief desciption of how they work. Every round I shall post a concept that you are to build a team around. The concept could be one specific Pokemon or a core of Pokemon that have been proven to work well together. This will take place in the building phase which will go on from the Monday which it is posted to Friday. It will be followed by a voting phase, in which the community will vote for the team that they feel is most effective. The winner will be rewarded with a spot in the Team Archive. If you win 3 times you are entered into the Hall of Fame! You are not required to post a team in order to participate in the voting phase. Now let's get into the more technical rules of the thread.

Rules

1. Submitting a Team:

There are a few things that should be included when posting a team in this thread. Please make sure you have:

-An importable of the team in a hide tag
-A brief description of how the team was built

*Replays and pictures can be included but are not required

2. Copying Teams / Other Disputes:

Seeing as this an open forum for posting teams, there is the potential for disputes regarding people stealing/copying a team from another. This is considered against the overall spirit of the thread and is strictly forbidden. If you are found to have copied someone's team, you will be disqualified from that round. If you suspect someone of stealing or copying a team, please PM me and I will look further into it. Please do not be that person.

3. Critique of Submitted Teams

This is not an RMT thread. Criticism of teams are welcome but keep it to a minimum. Basically, if you want to suggest an obvious change or error someone makes like a nature (Modest->Timid on a Gengar) or having the same move twice on a moveset. To prevent from thread from derailing, please keep all lengthy conversations about teams in private messages. Don't feel like doing that? Then just don't vote for that team. I reserve the right to disqualify people from participating the competition if they knowingly post gimmicky, bad teams or create overly-lengthy RMT-like posts.

4. No Bandwagoning

Vote for the team, not the user. If you geniuely think the guy with 1 post has a better team, then vote for him! Really look at the teams when voting rather than just selecting the team from the user you recognize. It'll be very hard to enforce this, but use your brain :P.

5. Use common sense:

Not that hard. Use the mon/core/idea I post; if you don't you will be disqualified. If you have an idea for a concept for a week, pm me and I will consider using it. Reminder, forum wide rules apply here too.

Happy building!

This team takes advantage of Zekrom's role as a Primal Groudon lure. After a Hone Claws it can OHKO the opponent's Pdon with a ridiculously strong Z-Outrage. I paired him with two special sweepers that greatly appreciate Pdon removal, Primal Kyogre and Xerneas. I added my own Primal Groudon since it's the best Pokemon in the tier, sets rocks and checks Fairy types that Zekrom struggles with. Giratina-O rids opposing hazards and is good backup against opposing Pdon. Lastly, Extreme Killer Arceus serves as a late game sweeper and gives the team some solid priority.

Figured most people would build teams with Hone Claws/Tailwind sets so I figured I would try something off the beaten path with an old classic: Scarf Zekrom. Normally this set is hard to make work because of Primal Groudon, which is what the MScizor + Dugtrio combo is for, baiting in and destroying PDon so Zekrom is free to Bolt Strike stuff. That being said, PDon isn't the only Ground-type in town, which is what Special RP PDon is for: as bait to Zygarde and Arceus-Ground, luring and smashing them both up so Zekrom can have a clean shot at sweeping lategame with Bolt Strike. As a bonus, SD MScizor + special PGroudon provides sufficient Fairy coverage while giving you multiple ways to abuse Ferrothorn. The remaining slots are mostly dedicated to checking stuff: Giratina-O provides a switch-in for most Ground mons/EKiller and Calm Mind Arceus-Dark provides the necessary Ghost and Dark resists and an alternate wincon, with Roar to allow it to check opposing CM Arceus-Dark. You can use Refresh instead of Roar if you're concerned about the stall matchup, against such a team you want to use Dugtrio against their Clefable/Magearna/Snatch Blissey or what have you. Thunder can also work if you're scared of Ho-Oh, which the team is a bit soft against.

This team is built around so that Gengar may clean at end with Hex. Zekrom is the mandatory addition and Z-Outrage is a nuke and Zekrom lures Primal Groudon in general. Primal Kyogre was added as it benefits for Zekrom's ability to remove or weaken Primal Groudon. It also spreads status with Scald and Toxic for the team to function. Xerneas gives me reliable setup sweeper and it also benefits from Primal Groudon being removed. Arometherapy on Xerneas helps the team against status. Giratina-O can help deal with any Ground-types that Zekrom may struggle against and also help against Extreme Killer Arceus. It also gives the team hazard removal so that my Pokemons don't get worn down by pivoting. Hex is there to take advantage of the status this team spreads. Primal Groudon is a mandatory addition to any serious Ubers team, and this one is no differant. Primal Groudon can check Xerneas, threaten Ferrothorn, and help against Primal Kyogre for Zekrom while also providing Stealth Rock to help Zekrom break down the enemy team. It also can spread status with Lava Plume having a 30% chance of a burn. Gengar is the mega of the team, and it is what the team functions around. Mega Gengar can also trap and remove Ferrothorn for Zekrom and also deal with Fairy-types such as Arceus-Fairy that may get in Zekrom's way of using Z-Outrage freely. I know this team can sound like a gimmick but it really isn't.

Hello Ubers comunity, this is my build for this round, Im interested on Zekrom because it is an old Pokemon and have a really low usage %, thats why I decided to build this Hyper Offense, featuring Choice Scarf
Zekrom, to be honest I stole the idea from Fireburn, Not because he's a good and experienced player, It is because Zekrom Scarfed have good utility, with Choice Scarf it can Outspeed and Revenge Kill threats like Salamence Mega, Giratina-Origin, Rayquaza and stuff, Using Adamant Nature still let u Outspeed 394 Speed, Max Speed with Adamant Nature its 418 (Choice Scarf), so thats why I give a try to this fabulous and Bad Funny Pokemon,
The team Building process was Simple and clean, Zekrom its an Offensive Pokemon so Hyper Offense was the perfect idea, I started using Excadrill as a lead, because Deoxys-Speed can't beat it and can Rapid Spin hazzards, Excadrill can pressure Arceus and hard stuff with Toxic too, so Excadrill was perfect, the second choice was Primal Groudon, every team needs Primal-Groudon, specially HO, to be honest I had a lot of troubles choosing the perfect Moveset for that Pokemon, but Rock Polish Mixed worked out pretty good, Fire Blast hit hard Arceus-Groudon, the main threat but don't KO it, I had in mind Overheat because that OHKO Arceus-Ground, Dragon Pulse clean the game from Dragon types and Precipice Blades hits hard Blissey and opposing Groudon-Primal, Zekrom Scarfed have Volt Switch to maintain momentum and have an escape way, Adamant does 46%-56% to Support Arceus and 2HKO most Groudons with Outrage, Draco Meteor kills Giratina-Origin and Salamence Bulky, Also Zekrom can switch in vs Most Ho-Oh, Gengar Mega its helpful vs Fairy types, and give a good match up vs Stall teams, because Taunt + Shadow Tag, Dual STAB works better for me, because for me in HO u just need hit hard and Win Fast, Destiny Bond cleans the field from Uncontrolable Threats, Like Arceus after Swords Dance or stuff, Rayquaza is my Groudon Primal Switch-In and a priority abuser with Ekiller, Arceus LO Ice Beam its good now because Salamence Mega again, and Zygarde, Extreme Speed its for clean stuff and the sweeper move of course lol, and Shadow Claw for Ghost Types, I found Zekrom is fun to use, but hard to build, because on this metagame exist a lot of Checks and Counters to stop Zekrom, Xerneas its dangerous, RP Primal Groudon and a lot of stuff, but this team have check to most of these stuff, u just need to pressure with Rocks and play very aggresive, have fun using and testing this team, excuse me for my bad english and Have a good night n.n

Zekrom is rather a difficult one for myself to build around due to its weakness to types from common threats and coverage. Substitute used on the Hone Claws Zekrom set rather than a secondary Dragon type attack helps bypass Ferrothorn, status and can be used when predicting the incoming Primal Groudon then heavily damaging it with Devastating Drake. PDon is our Stealth Rocker and prefered the defensive one to provide better switch-ins to threats like Fairies and Primal Kyogre. Pogre and Zekrom works together like BF & GF to exert pressure on both side of the spectrum, also Zekrom can lure PDon in with a double switch for Pogre to come in, Sleep Talk instead of Calm Mind can be used if you need a sleep fodder despite the Dark Void nerf. Mega Salamence and Geomancy Xerneas are the 2 badass sweepers on this team - Mega Mence provides the team with Ground immunity and Substitute GeoXern avoids being inflicted by status particularly the pesky Blobs, I prefer HP Fire over other possible coverage options to roast Steel types, although it doesn't threaten Ho-Oh but it's no problem since this team have a good match-up against Ho-Oh thanks to Zekrom, Pogre and Mega Mence. Lastly E-Killer bypasses speed tiers and revenges weaken mon with Extreme Speed and Shadow Claw for Ghost coverage is need for Giratina and Lunala. Thank you for people who've voted!

This is sort of similar to Fireburn's scarf offense squad but differs in that it also aims to get electric terrain under zekrom for a sweep.

Terrain lets zekrom get loads more power which lets you sweep earlier, something I found useful for a team with almost no sustain.

Here are some cool kills you steal with terrain:

252+ Atk Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 184 HP / 28 Def Xerneas in Electric Terrain: 394-465 (89.7 - 105.9%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Solgaleo in Electric Terrain: 367-433 (88.4 - 104.3%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO

What's popping ubers community, Here's my entry for the teambuilding competition here, I have a team where I have built with my brother! n_n
My idea behind the build was "hey I'm bring back Sub Hone claws Zek, being capable of setting up the sub vs so many threats while also scaring out mons and luring in mons, such as ferro, Pdon, Magearna..etc, So partnering with Dugtrio allows you to easily remove Zek answers like Pdon, bulky steels, also poisoning several mons such as Arceus-Ground (which is a borderline threat to this and should be played around by either weakening with Pdon, and then allowing mence to clean up later, depending on the variant and situation).
Back to the team, Magearna was added for threats such as Yveltal, Geo Xerneas, I pack the Reflect for futher supporting the set up sweepers in the back, not to mention Duggy can click memento, free switch for a set up sweeper, set up and then souls = claimed.
I slapped on the most powerful HO Core in the game in the form of, Mence, mixed Don, and Ghosteus.
----
I pack dual Z-moves due to the situation, let's say I sack Duggy and want to save the free Z-Shadow Force for a mon in the back.
look at your opponent's weaknesses and play accordingly, keep constant pressure and you should be good.
Amir out :]

Fireburn team seems solid, I dont rly like too much Tapu Koko + Zekrom because Groudon can set up Rock Polish into Tapu and sweep most of the teams, so I vote for Firburn team :]

fireburn because every other team is stupidly weak to something
also why are u darkceus wtf do u wanna get 6-0d by luke and ho-oh (scarf zek is not a check)
fire blast waterceus can be good on that team

The strategy is luring opposing Primal Groudon with Mega Scizor and proceed to trap it with Duggy.
128+ Atk Scizor-Mega U-turn vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Groudon-Primal: 42-51 (10.4 - 12.6%)
252+ Atk Dugtrio Tectonic Rage (180 BP) vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Groudon-Primal: 356-420 (88.3 - 104.2%)

Voting for Fireburn's team.
thx, forgot to put U turn on the table.

Fireburns team. Even though the counterplays to RP mixed Pdon are shaky and easy to chip I feel it was conceptualized a bit better than the others. +1 to gunners point. I actually had time to use jhonxs team to and while its nice and works kind of fluidly against typical ladder trends it has a difficult time with certain bulky offensive / more defensively inclined builds especially those utilizing arceus ground and or yveltal. The life orb ekiller is kind of off on this build as well, it didnt feel right to me personally. However if you cleaned up the team a bit like changing zekrom out, yes i know its part of this round but in general I think you have something going. Also use fire blast on pdon the other slashes you have dont work on a team like yours and builders shouldnt be slashing sets but suggesting potential changes in descriptions personally.

Voting for Fireburn
I can't really leave many comments cause I don't understand a lot about this tier yet, but his team has the most fun idea going for it IMO.
