Congrats to HydreigonTheChild and thanks for the submissions! Next up, we have an archetype rather than a Pokemon:

Hazard Stacking

Hazard Stacking refers to setting up multiple layers of entry hazards to make switching in extremely painful for opposing Pokemon. This can be done with Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and/or Stealth Rock, and UU has many viable users of these moves to choose from. Hazard stacking is particularly strong now with Skarmory at an all-time high in UU, so I expect to see lots of Skarms, but hopefully some more interesting users such as Roserade and Heracross can be seen too. Have fun!

Teambuilding Restrictions:
  • The team should be built in the Sword and Shield UnderUsed format.
  • The team must include at least 2 types of damaging hazard moves (Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and/or Stealth Rock).
Submission Deadline: Sunday, June 5, 2022 @ 11:59 PM EST (GMT-4).

:jellicent::skarmory::thundurus-therian::azelf::hydreigon::excadrill:

The Spikes user on this team is Skarmory and I am able to fit a Spinblocker to help maintain hazards. Jellicent also abuses hazards itself well as it forces defensive Pokemon to switch after Taunt. The rest of the team is relatively fast and offensive to use hazards better and includes an offensive Volt Turn core in Azelf/Thundurus/Hydreigon which become bigger threats when Spikes are up. Excadrill is selected as the SR user to help check Substitute Aegislash and provide hazard control through Rapid Spin (not Defog) so I can keep my Spikes.

I made this team in 2 minutes and went like 10-2 so it must be broken. Decided to take the Hyper Offense route with hazard stacking this time. Scolipede is the best spikes lead imo due to Endeavor and having actual offensive potential. I'm not a fan of Krook but it fits best on these teams where Intimidate to weaken attack stats and Taunt to keep up rocks is very beneficial. Tornadus was a cool option that could work as a Defog deterrent and natural Speed and worked out nicely, especially since Aegislash's Kings Shield gives it an attack boost. Rest of the team is standard, Celesteela and Nihilego are the double Meteor Beam sweepers that almost always pave the way for the other to sweep, and Scizor rounds the team out with double priority to clean late-game.

This team is built around Keldeo and Toxtricity specs. They appreciate spikes wearing down checks like Tangrowth. I run Flip turn on Keldeo for bringing Toxtricity on Slowking or Primarina. Skarmory and Swampert form the stacking hazards core and Dhelmise can remove hazard with rapid spin and check Zygarde. Hydeigon scarf is here for speed control and can also bring Keldeo or Toxtricity with U-turn.

This team is basically hazard stack and mamoswine is a great member on this team as it is able to apply so much pressure to the foggers. Skarmory + exca is used as a core since they can hazard stack well and mamoswine can come in on many foggers who attempt to get rid of hazards so mamo can go ham and weaken teams. Noivern is used here to get in mamo safely a lot of the times against pokemon such as hippo, av tang, amoonguss, and some more. It can also come in on grass types that would want to deal with slowking, and against zarude as well. Slowking + skarm is a very good core that takes on many threats and zarude helps against the ones that it would struggle against such as thundy-t, aegi, hydreigon, and rotom-w.

Congrats to Monky25 and thanks for the submissions! Next up, we have:

Chandelure
b87ded827c88127fed649558d7e920aa-gif.312211

With Aegislash leaving the tier, Chandelure no longer faces competition for the premiere Ghost-type of UU, so this week we will be building around it! Chandelure sports a variety of talents, including Flash Fire to absorb Fire-type attacks and make its own Fire moves stronger, the incredibly deadly Fire + Ghost STAB combination (only resisted by Crawdaunt and Hydreigon in UU), and a titanic base 145 Special Attack that mkes switching into Chandelure a nightmarish task. Chandelure doesn't have to go for an all-out-offensive approach, though - it has a wide variety of great boosting, support, and status options, such as Calm Mind, Substitute, Toxic, Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, Trick, and Hex. Finally, Chandelure is a great user of Choice items, which can allow it to either surprise foes with a Choice Scarf or vaporize them with Choice Specs-boosted attacks. Chandelure does have several notable weaknesses to balance out these traits, however. Chandelure is relatively slow for an offensive Pokemon, meaning it is easily preyed upon by other, faster offensive Pokemon. This is also made easier by Chandelure's weaknesses to common attacking types in Water, Dark, Rock, and Ground. Finally, Chandelure is weak to Stealth Rock, limiting the amount of times it can switch in if not uising Heavy-Duty Boots. None of this should stop you from making some great teams with Chandelure, though - I'm looking forward to seeing them!

Teambuilding Restrictions:
  • The team should be built in the Sword and Shield UnderUsed format.
  • The team must include Chandelure.

Chandelure + Tox Steela BO
:cobalion: :chandelure: :rotom-wash: :tangrowth: :diggersby: :celesteela:

Chandelure is back at it again, Ive been aching to use chandy since the aegis ban and I want to share this team. Esta was talking in the uu cord about how Tox Celesteela is a really good hex chandy partner so I decided to give it a try, I make use of will-o-wisp Chandy to overwhelm nihilego much easily and if we manage to burn hippowdon SD Coba can have a field day, talking abt him, I use coba as the rocker to cover for zarude and sd sciz which steela can barely handle, We have a VoltTurn core of Washer + Scarf Diggs which not only compresses removal + speed control but also to bring chandy in targets it likes like Skarmory and Amoonguss. Finally Tangrowth is added to complete the FWG core which chandy fits in nicely and patch holes such as the Primarina and Keldeo matchups.
If you see Conkeldurr with this team you just cry about it, and if you see LO Hydreigon you also just cry about it. Other than that most other matchups should be playable.

:chandelure: :slowking: :zarude-dada: :cobalion: :nidoqueen::noivern:

Chandy is specs on this team.. it takes advatage of hazards and pivot moves wearing the opposing team down. Chandelure with specs is a nuke and can come in after pokemon have been worn down and blast them with specs overheat and shadow balls, something such as hydreigon, mandibuzz, salamence, and some more pokemon can barely take the hits after they were worn down. Cobalion is the SD mon of the tier which allows it to abuse zarude, scizor, and abused choice locked mons, with CC, megahorn, and stone edge it hits a lot of the tier such as slowking, moltres, salamence, tangrowth, gyarados, etc. It also gives us plenty of zarude counteprlay with rocky helmet and the ability to get justified boosts of it and set up on it which chandy appreciates. Zarude gives us ways to deal with primarina and opposing slowking while slowking provides us with ways to port chadelure in. nidoqueen is the volt immune of the team.. it is to prevent the free spam of volt switch and gives counterplay to thundy-t and raikou. It also provides rocks for the team which is very valuabel for noivern and zarude to wear down the opposing team with their pivot moves. Noivern is the speed control, plain and simple it also provides pivoting and can revenge kill many pokemon such as salamence, hydreigon, zygarde-10%, etc and can also help take advantage of many pokemon such as skarm, salamence, and take advantage of pokemon such as chansey, slowking, av tang,sp. def pert, and mandibuzz and rack up damage on them

Chose hydreigon+chande core as Hydreigon provides speed control which the team greatly appreciates due to its capability to eliminating faster threats like Zygarde, Azelf, and +2 celesteela which the core does not struggle against. Gyarados on the other hand pairs extremely well with both scizor and speed boosting nihilegio as nihilegio eliminates mandibuzz which both scizor and gyarados struggle against, while functioning extremely well as a lategame sweeper thanks to meteor beam. Lum berry over hdb on gyarados is perfect for common twave and toxic users in the metagame which would otherwise hinder gyarados's ability to break past certain teams in mid to lategame. Lastly, scizor functions as the team's primary wallbreaker and is also an excellent lategame sweeper. Additionally Scizor eliminates or forces out nihilegio and lycanroc which threatens the team if scizor dies too early. Ultimately Chandelure sets up with ease against Chansey and common grass types like amoongus and tangrowth which improves stall matchups. The set however would struggle against careful WW Hippowdon which the toxic hex set may prove to be optimal.

Choice Specs Chandelure VoltTurn

Been a while since I submitted a team for this, but Chandy is one of my all-time favs so I'm happy to do so for this one! The team is fairly simple, being based around the tried-and-true VoltTurn core of Cobalion, Zarude, Thundrus-Therian, and Slowking. These 4 work together to keep up constant pressure on the opposing team with U-Turn and Volt Switch. Noivern is another, less conventional addition to the squad, but provides momentum with U-Turn and naturally outspeeds basically everything in UU. The constant momentum grabbing of the team allows Choice Specs Chandelure as many opportunities as possible to come in and fire off nuclear special attacks. One change I made to Chandelure's normal Choice Specs set was to give it Hyper Beam, which has a 31.3% chance to OHKO Hydreigon (and will always OHKO after Stealth Rock damage), giving Chandelure room to potentially remove a counter with good prediction. This team does have to be careful in managing its resources around Chansey, as if Cobalion goes down and Chandelure is unable to Trick it, Chansey will sit on the rest of the team. Pivot Azelf could be slotted in over Noivern to improve the Chansey match-up thanks to Knock Off, but you will struggle more with opposing Azelf.

(apologies to HTC I just realized this is basically the same team LOL)

boots chandy + toxic steela balance

Pretty fun one, toxic steela encourages pretty much all defensive walls to end up having to be poisoend like hippo / slowking / moltres / salamence etc, chandy feeds on this nicely. umb pairs well with them, gives u nice typing synergy + wish support to let them go way further, esp in absence of tect on steela. willo on chandy lets u hit nihi which is nice. coba gives u rocks + some speed control against thundy + momeentum, sciz + zarude pivot. washtom gives secondary ground immunity + removal + extra pivoting to support chandy, amoong rounds off team with spore support + prim/keld check.
