[Overview]

With high Attack and an almost-unique a well-placedbase 93 Speed, one would think Unfezant could would be a useful daunting attacker in the NU tier. However, it faces so much stiff competition from its brethren the likes of Swellow, Braviary, and even Dodrio that its renders this bird outclassed in most rolesalmost worthless. However, it Unfezant does have occupies an interesting and specific niche in its access to Hypnosis and Super Luck [You say Hypnosis and Taunt later...please keep consistent]. While the pigeon's attacking movepool may be lacking, missing out on Brave Bird and Drill Peck, it has a few key moves in the support department, just enough to take advantage of.it has the right moves as a support Pokemon to warrant it consideration for a place on a team.

[Set Comments][SET COMMENTS]

This set aims to use what Unfezant has that others like it don'tThis set aims to use the unique qualities that only Unfezant possesses, the combination of Hypnosis and Taunt, the combination of Hypnosis, good support moves, a great ability [only adding because of your previous comment] and a high speed to drive it all homeboosted even further through high Speed. Even though Hypnosis has horrid questionable accuracy, it will completely disable anything incapacitate an opponent's Pokemon when it hitsdoes hit, giving you an opportunity to get a free switch. Taunt is another trick up this pigeon's sleeve, allowing it to cripple walls and stop attempts to set up when things like Gorebyss think they will get a free Shell Smashdeny possible set-up attempts. Unfezant's Return does not hit amazingly hard coming off of only 247 Attackas hard as some other birds' in the tier, but serves the purpose of savingsaves Unfezant from becoming complete Taunt bait. Roost is ever-amazingfor recovery, keeping Unfezant alive until it gets its job done and puts something to sleepdramatically elongating Unfezant's lifespan and usefulness in battle.

[Additional Comments]

Unfezant has a tiny case of is afflicted with the epidemic known as Four Moveslot Syndrome. A set like this would appreciate Toxic to get residual damage off, but the moves listed are usually more important for than it. Toxic also conflicts is also largely redundant with the main move of the set selling point of Unfezant, Hypnosis. Unfezant has another STAB option in Pluck, but Berries are so rare in the current meta that it is almost pointless to run it over Return. Even though it has a low 182 HP Wish, it may seem usable, but loses almost all value taking into account the fact that Wish is illegal with Hypnosis. Wish, though an excellent support move, is illegal with Hypnosis and is by far an inferior option on this Pokemon.

[Other Options]

Looking at Unfezant's stats, the first thing to come to mind would probably be a Choice Band set seems to be the most conspicuous option. Unfortunately for our little pigeon, there is almost no point in it with competition from the likes of Swellow, Braviary, and Dodrio such a set would be better off run on Swellow, Braviary or Dodrio. Unfezant also has access to Rain Dance and Sunny Day, allowing Gorebyss and Victreebel (respectively) to have easier sweeps enabling sweeps from Pokemon such as Gorebyss or Victreebel respectively.. Unfezant also has access to the somewhat gimmicky Tailwind, but it is very hard to utilize. As mentioned before, Unfezant can use Wish, but it is an inferior option, as it is illegal with Hypnosis, the only reason you should be using Unfezant in the first placeA Wish set is unfeasible considering that it renders the bird unable to use hypnosis, which is by far the biggest incentive to use Unfezant.

[Checks and Counters]

As a support Pokémon, its main fear is Taunt, of course Taunt is always a large threat. Thankfully, due to Unfezant's high base Speed, it is hard to actually get a Taunt off unless Unfezant switches in to one surprisingly difficult to Taunt it before being Taunted yourself. However, even if it is not Taunted, its effect quickly ends. Once something is put to sleep, practically anything can come in and take you out, regardless of whether they have to set up or not. However, its weak defenses means that it is forced out by almost everything once Sleep Clause is induced. While being immune to Toxic Spikes due to its Flying typing Although Unfezant is granted immunity from Toxic Spikes, Toxic is an absolute curse for severely hampers the performance of the bird. Its Flying typing also brings the wing-clipping weakness to Stealth Rock, and the fact that there are so few rarity of rapid-spinners in NU doesn't help its cause.
