So, did anybody ever figure out why the enemy fusions in Mad Science Mixups are named what they are? Both the letter and the number were chosen with intent.
No clue what the naming scheme is, but here are the Pokemon

Slot 1
E-26: Bronzong + Toedscruel
P-20: Thundurus-Therian + Drapion
V-30: Corviknight + Grafaiai
Slot 2
C-09: Obstagoon + Excadrill
A-27: Infernape + Cyclizar
S-25: Darmanitan + Golurk
Slot 3
P-24: Mimikyu + Roaring Moon
A-16: Pheromosa + Sigilyph

To be fully honest all my thoughts towards it have been that they're horrible. I can't remember which is P-20, which is P-24 and etc. They're horribly confusing and with my teammate I just started refering to them as "the one with high HP", "the one with low HP" and "the one in the back". They're incredibly confusing and a big pain point in playing the event
*sigh*

We expected that people would figure out the reasons for the names, at which point they would become much easier to remember.

They look like initial letters of certain cap mons now that I think about it.
There's Pajantom, Astrolotl, Saharaja, Cyclohm, Equilibra
(trying to find relation with Cars Liss)

Grandmas Yache Berry Stew you're a genius! I figured out the other CAPs as well :^)

Slot 1
Equilibra-26: Bronzong + Toedscruel
Plasmanta-20: Thundurus-Therian + Drapion
Venomicon-30: Corviknight + Grafaiai
Slot 2
Colossoil-09: Obstagoon + Excadrill
Astrolotl-27: Infernape + Cyclizar
Smokomodo-25: Darmanitan + Golurk
Slot 3
Pajantom-24: Mimikyu + Roaring Moon
Aurumoth-16: Pheromosa + Sigilyph

Now that the riddle is solved can we rename them to be smthin like Proto-Colossoil or Proto-Pajantom n stuff in the past monthly event hub so it's more easy to keep track of who's who?

Why didn’t I just fade….
I am quitting bbp. I know I am not memorable at all, but I wanted to make this announcement just because I tried. There are four main reasons why I quit.

1. JC. Instead of being an incentive to reff, it becomes an incentive to not play the game. Reffing takes so long, and I have limited time each day. I really shouldn’t have made this point, because everyone can ref but me, but I wanted to bring up the effect. With your 20 jc you can play flower park yay and participate in a b5p3, but then your at a stand still. So unless I’m gonna somehow either make a jc living writing flavor text, or ppl start writing jc checks for me, I’m going to withdraw and lurk.

2. The overrealance on discord. I don’t have it. With most reffing tools being on discord, it makes it Very difficult to try to ref.
It becomes more enticing to decide the outcomes yourself instead of rolling.

3. The new player experience is horrible. You HAVE TO make your first safari count, and if you fail, welp, your carreer is over. With your three Pokémon, you have them to either be starters, or strong ones, and you can sometimes tack on a weak one, but it is actually a detriment to your career. It takes forever to even get enough Pokémon to bring 5 Pokémon to a b5b3.

4. (More personal) I don’t feel like a useful part of the community. Most of the community is on discord, which I don’t have, I feel like a random person being to stubborn to ref, unable to earn jc. I was pressured out of my flavor text writing by some irl friends, and it’s not like I can participate in any beggener battles…..

four paragraph rant? It’s not fazzie, but it sums up why I am leaving.

This is true. People who don't use Discord should be using this thread to drive discussion and ask questions.

I always wanted players to use this thread working much like the OU Discussion Thread; where people would just share sets they found or trends that are on their mind. Our footprint is a little small for that, though.

I was pressured out of my flavor text writing by some irl friends
That's awful. I hope they stop doing that.

Anybody can play in Beginner Battles, as long as you follow the Level and backpack limits.

You might have seen that many players just roll 20d600, screenshot that, and use the rolls in their reffing. You can do the same thing using random.org instead

PSA stop putting your primary orders in your main orders. People keep losing to action disruption and you are going to get disable nerfed which will make me sad. I swear if as a community we start refering to them as "back up orders" instead of "main orders" people would get blown out way less when first ordering.

Instead of
x ~ x ~ x
sub: If y state clause is true, use z.

write
z ~ z ~ z
sub: If y state clause is NOT true, use x.

fallback order: Low Kick x 3
4th sub: At the start of my turn, if Zekrom is NOT Hovering, THEN use bone rush

1733468081216.png

fall back order: scale shot x 3
4th sub: If Smokomodo does NOT have a decoy use tailwind the first time, hidden power the second time and hidden power + focus blast the third time.

fallback order: fusion flare x 3
4th sub: if my opponent does NOT have a decoy THEN use hyper beam + ice beam the second time and glaciate otherwise.

Bonus
"I have 5 minutes to order and have not even read my opponents move pool, I am going to get blown out and this is lame"
The vast vast majority of second order blow outs in this game are action disruption, counter type moves and evasives.

Fallback Order: Decoy breaking attack x 3

At the start of my turn, if my opponent is evasive, use negative priority attack.
At the start of my turn, if my opponent is to use a physical/special returning move (depending on your primary attack) then use an other category action.
At the start of my turn, use a move that beats the one thing I can remember my opponents pokemon doing.
At the start of my turn, if my opponent does not have a decoy, use primary attack.

There you go, this template is less likely to get blown out than a large number of orders people are writing.

When I started playing people talked a lot about ursaluna, gallade and dragonite as the best (non tech) mon in the game.

What do people think nowadays for top 5-10 non tech bbp mon?
A lot of mon seem cool within their niche so I hesitate to say which ones are the strongest in the game, but to get things started here are some I might consider.

Kyurem-white/black (pending bug fix to stop them costing 0 tech)
Archaludon
Weavile
Colossoil
Braviary-h
Samurott-h
Spinda
Metagross (or maybe that is only mega?)
Ursaluna
Gallade
Shuckle
Miasmaw
Kleavor
Gigalith
Gengar
Raichu/Raichu-A
Fidgit
