Updated RMT

With continued playing I have an updated RMT from about 2 weeks ago.

Jirachi
Choice Scarf
252 Att
252 Speed
4 HP
Jolly

Trick
Iron Head
Stealth Rock
U-Turn

Fairly standard lead. Trick cripples many leads who choose to just set up rocks and who don't have a trick blocker. Stealth Rock needs no explanation, while I use Iron Head just for damage and if my trick is blocked I can use him for a late game psuedo sweep. U-Turn is just to get some damage on the opposing Poke if I have an unfavorable matchup.

251.png

Celebi
Life Orb

232 HP
34 Speed
242 SpA
Modest

T-Wave
Recover
Psychic
Leaf Storm

My Machamp and bulky water counter. This little guy is great and packs a huge punch. I t-wave whenever I anticipate a switch and recovery gives me some survivability if I'm in a situation where I'm depending on hacks to gain the upper hand. Psychic for STAB and Leaf Storm just destroys anything that is weak to it and a lot of things that arent.

Heatran
Life Orb

252 SpA
252 Speed
4 HP
Timid

Substitute
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Explosion

The enigma on my team. Heatran is one of the most commonly used pokemon, but with good reason, it is just so useful. My main Jirachi and Scizor (depending on what it is locked in on) counter. Sub on the predicted switch and then hit what you can with a fireblast. If Blissey comes in hit it again with fireblast to get it to Explosion kill range with hovers around 75%. Part of the F/W/G core that seems a necessity these days.

245.png

Suicune
Chesto Berry

252 Speed
252 SpA
4 Def
Timid

Rest
Surf
HP-Electric
Ice Beam

Resto-chesto Offensive Cune, I've never seen it before but I am sure glad I made it. Surf, HP-Electric and Ice beam gives great coverage. For some reason people only expect cro-cune and don't switch out gyra or other slower poke's which nets me a ton of easy kills. One of his best uses which I have realized is to counter Breloom. With the given speed he is faster and chesto gets rid of spore and lets me revenge kill with Ice Beam which is truly fantastic. Rest just gives me so many options to hit a reset and without calm mind I don't feel the urge to set up early and the extra damage, even if resisted it usually helps.

143.png

Snorlax @ leftovers
252 attack, 252 SpecDef, 6 HP
Adamant
Body Slam
Crunch
Earthquake
Self Destruct

This guy is a tank, he soaks up all the special hits from guys that gave me trouble in the past, starmie, heatran, jolteon, all of them are forced to switch or take a KO. He also works well against gengar, taking a focus blast and firing back with crunch. All around great bulky Poke. I typically do not get a chance to use Self Destruct so any other options would be considered, the EV's though are necessary for me to have some sort of special sponge on the team.

448.png

Lucario
Life Orb

252 Att
252 Speed
4Hp
Adamant

Swords Dance
Close Combat
Extreme Speed
Bullet Punch

My pride and joy, Lucario is (IMO) one of the most powerful sweepers out there. With SD up the only thing that can consistently counter me is Rotom. Everything else is either wiped out by CC or hit by double priority. He is central to my team and one of my most consistant Pokes. Double priority just hits too many things and CC is just too powerful to get rid of.

Main Counters:

Fast Fighting, Ground, and Fire Types

Too many times I get swept by tricking a bad poke a scarf on a random switch and get completely decimated by a Close Combat or Earthquake. With fighting weakness's shared by 4 members, Ground by 3 and Fire by 3, once my counter to any one of those types is gone I'm completely swept.

Magnezone

Nothing really I can do about it other then send snorlax in after it takes out one of my steels.

Summary:

While the team normally wins upwards of 75% of its matches, I just feel I am too consistantly beaten by the same pokes and I know that someone out there probably has a good idea on how to improve this team. I'm not a fan of stall and choice items are Ehh for me so I tend to shy away.

One option that I may consider is Trick/Choice Scarf Rotom (water or fire form) over Heatran. Gives me a much needed ground/fighting immunity and is able to revenge a decent number of poke's. Though, unless I am able to get a trick off, Blissey would be able to wall the team better, as well as vappy.

All in all, my Cune/Lucario/Celebi are the most reliable members of the team. Jirachi normally works well unless I get a trick predicted and choice something which can benefit from it. Heatran works well, but I'm not sure if he fits. Snorlax works pretty damn well except when it gets burned, but not much I can do about that.

I really just need some way to counter the huge ground/fighting weakness on my team and I'm thinking heatran would be the best Poke' to be sacrifced so that I dont get swept anymore.

I look forward to your help.

A few quick notes...

1. 3 pokemon with lifeorb with only one of them having a way to recover hp? You might be able to get decent damage off, but if the other team manages to soak it up you will be left with a bunch of things at low health.

2. If you intend to use explosion on heatran id recomend a naive or hasty nature so that your attack isnt lowered.

Hi there, this seems like a solid team you have here, although there are a couple of minor changes I would recommend be tested. First of all, I highly suggest testing the standard offensive calm mind Suicune over your current variant; although the current chesto-rest one does have its merits, I think that the more offensively inclined calm mind Suicune may prove to be more beneficial for this specific team. Also, seeing as this team seems to be quite offensive and speedy, I suggest replacing your Snorlax which performs much better on balanced or stall team, with a bulky dragon dance Gyarados. Not only will this change help punch holes in the opposing team for Lucario to clean up, it will also help the synergy of the team as Gyarados resists your team's most concerned attacks - fire-, fighting- ground-type attacks. Finally, I highly recommend trying out the standard swords dance Lucario variant; sure its great to have two forms of priority on one Pokemon, but in most cases, the added move coverage attained from the standard SD set is much more valuable than double priority.

Also, there are a couple of Pokemon which may prove to be a concern for this team. Mixed Infernape, swords dance/ agility Lucario, and Agility Metagross all are threats to this team, while other Pokemon like sub charge Rotom-W and dragon dance Tyranitar can also present slight concerns. All of these Pokemon, if given the chance to set up, can easily inflict huge amounts of damage to all of the Pokemon in your team, seeing as you don't really have a decent check or revenge killer to help defeat the aforementioned threats. But luckily, only one small change can possible help deal with all of these concerns while also helping improve the overall synergy your team has; I recommend trying out a scarf Rotom-h in the place of your Heatran (the set is shown below for easy reference).

Rotom-h @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SpAtk/4 SpDef
Timid nature (+Spd,-Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Trick[/box]
Not only can scarf Rotom-h revenge kill the likes of Metagross and swords Lucario as well as mixed Infernape and inflict massive amounts of damage with either Shadow Ball, or Overheat, it also provides your team with a decent dragon dance Gyarados check as Rotom-h will out speed even after a DD and KO even the bulky variant with Thunderbolt. Along with that, it provides a decent check to Blissey which is rippled with Trick allowing both your Celebi and Suicune do their thing without worrying about being stalled out by Blissey; also since this Pokemon lures in the likes of choice Scizor and Tyranitar, it can often also help Lucario find opportunities to switch-in and start to set-up and start to sweep. Lastly, thing change will help your team's synergy as Rotom is immune to Fighting and Ground Type attacks which seem to be problematic for your team. I hope this rate helped and good luck!

When using snorlax, you NEED a ghost. This is because any fighting attacker can switch in and you need to have that immunity. Right not, half of your team is weak to fighting, and crunch luke can beat everyone except jirachi. A really good combo to use is gengar + snorlax. Infernape/breloom/luke switch into lax? just go to gengar and set up.

Offensive chesto is a cool set, but from experience I can tell you that you should run calm mind...there is no point in chesto resting without it. You need to get rid an attacking move though.

Hey everyone, I'm about to test out rotom over heatran and see how that goes.
To respond to a few points:
About snorlax-while he is more stall then the rest of my offensive based team, his job as a special sponge is an enormous help. Hopefully the addition of rotom should cover his weaknesses.
With resto chesto cune, I have had fun with him but ill start checking numbers on how much I actually use rest as compared to when calm mind would be more useful. The times I have rested its been a huge help, and that breloom counter in of itself is almost too much as everyone stays in and just eats an ice beam.

Another note, I cant believe that I forgot about the attack lowering on heatrans nature...

Update after playtesting

After about 20ish matches, all I can say is wow... rotom was exactly what I needed. I've only been beaten once and that was on a rematch which I should have won. Was able to revenge kill breloom with suicune again and haven't had a chance to set up a calm mind yet so so far resto chesto has the lead still.
