[OVERVIEW]

A monstrous base Attack stat of 130, access to Swords Dance, and a powerful ability in Guts make Ursaring a force to be reckoned with as a physical wallbreaker. This, combined with its fairly low Speed, makes it a near mandatory member for Trick Room teams as a wallbreaker, making it easier for teammates to clean up. Its bulk is good enough so that it isn't too threatened by priority outside of Mach Punch. However, Ursaring's Speed and mediocre bulk mean that, outside of Trick Room, it's very vulnerable to faster attackers. It also faces competition from other physical Normal-types such as Kangaskhan and Zangoose, which fit on more common playstyles, while Ursaring is usually dedicated to only Trick Room. While it does have a large number of coverage moves, Ursaring finds itself very predictable because it generally chooses the same moves for any set.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Swords Dance is used to take advantage of switches Ursaring causes and allows it to OHKO Regirock and Carracosta with Close Combat if they don't have Sturdy, Weezing with Facade, and standard Pursuit Spiritomb with Crunch after Stealth Rock damage. Swords Dance can also be used to set up on weaker Pokemon because Ursaring's bulk is decent enough. Facade is Ursaring's go-to STAB move unless there is a foe resistant or immune to Normal-type moves. With 140 Base Power, STAB, and a boost from Guts when Ursaring is burned, Facade can break through almost anything in the tier. Crunch is used to hit Ghost-types like Oricorio-G and Gourgeist-XL super effectively while also hitting Sableye and Spiritomb neutrally to prevent Ursaring from being completely walled by them. Close Combat hits Rock- and Steel-types that resist Facade like Regirock, Carracosta, and Aggron.

Set Details
========

The given EVs maximize Ursaring's Attack stat, allowing to break through just about any Pokemon in the tier, and the HP investment allows it to take priority moves better and set up Swords Dance with more ease. A Brave nature is used to make Ursaring's low Speed more effective under Trick Room. Guts boosts Ursaring's Attack even higher when affected by status and helps it beat the usual physical walls in the tier like Weezing and Tangela. A Flame Orb is used to ensure that Ursaring can have Guts activated and to prevent it from being affected by Toxic poison and paralysis, which are much more detrimental.

Usage Tips
========

Ursaring under Trick Room is a dedicated physical wallbreaker, as there aren't many good checks to it that can take its Facade after a boost. Even with a sky-high Attack stat, Ursaring can fail to harm defensive Ghost-types that run Foul Play like Gourgeist-XL and Spiritomb, so it should try to play around those. Ursaring should try to use Swords Dance when coming in on a weak foe like defensive Mesprit or Clefairy, though it should be wary of the rare Knock Off. Because Ursaring is a very prediction-reliant Pokemon and Trick Room is a hyper offensive playstyle, Ursaring should take advantage of the limited turns as much as possible. As its main role is to be a wallbreaker, it should allow a late-game cleaner like Alolan Exeggutor to finish off the other parts of a team.

Team Options
========

Trick Room setters like Carbink and Alolan Exeggutor are mandatory partners for Ursaring. Alolan Exeggutor helps break through the few Pokemon Ursaring has issues with like Regirock and Carracosta. Carbink sets up Stealth Rock, has Magic Coat to prevent opposing entry hazards from being set up, and uses Explosion to bring in Ursaring for free. As a hard-hitting wallbreaker, Ursaring appreciates the help of U-turn support to get in on something it can take advantage of or threaten. Mesprit and Wishiwashi are notable, as they can lure in special walls like Audino and Eelektross for Ursaring to take advantage of. Special wallbreakers like Alolan Exeggutor and Wishiwashi help Ursaring deal with physically defensive Pokemon, namely Regirock and Gourgeist-XL, and have an easier time cleaning after Ursaring breaks a team. Pokemon with moves like Memento, Explosion, and Healing Wish such as Carbink, Audino, and Musharna all help Ursaring get in for free and many Pokemon have access to one of these moves along with Trick Room. Musharna also acts as a Fighting-type check that helps cover Ursaring's weakness to Mach Punch. Ursaring and Crabominable form a great physically offensive core with Trick Room, with Ursaring absorbing status and being fairly reliable at breaking through Psychic-types like Musharna and Mesprit and Crabominable taking care of Normal-resistant and-immune Pokemon like Regirock and Gourgeist-XL.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A faster Guts set can be used with maximum Speed EVs and a Jolly nature, but it is still fairly slow, outclassed by Pokemon with better Speed tiers like Zangoose and Kangaskhan, and noticeably weaker without an Adamant nature. Quick Feet can be used with a Toxic Orb instead of a Flame Orb, but, even with the boost, Ursaring is outsped by things like Lycanroc and is easily revenge killed because of its bulk. This set is also much weaker than other sets because of Ursaring's Jolly nature and loss of a Guts boost. Earthquake can be used as a coverage option over Close Combat to eliminate the Defense and Special Defense drops while still hitting most of the same Pokemon, but it lacks a lot of power in comparison to Close Combat. Play Rough is an option to hit Sableye and Spiritomb for super effective damage, but it is generally worse than Crunch because Crunch can hit a wider range of Ghost-types. A Bulk Up set with Rest and Sleep Talk is an alternative way to set up, and, while it doesn't provide as much offensive pressure as Swords Dance, the Defense boosts help its matchup against Foul Play users and other physical attackers. However, this is usually outclassed by Vigoroth.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Fighting-types threaten Ursaring greatly with their super effective STAB attacks. Hitmonchan and Primeape easily outspeed and can KO Ursaring without Trick Room, although Hitmonchan needs a little chip damage to ensure it can OHKO Ursaring. Gurdurr can tank a Facade and 2HKO Ursaring, and a Mach Punch from Hitmonchan and Gurdurr can pick off a weakened Ursaring. However, all of these Pokemon lose to Ursaring if it already has set up a Swords Dance and is under Trick Room

**Physical Walls**: Pokemon like Regirock and defensive Carracosta require Ursaring to set up a Swords Dance in order to OHKO them and can use the opportunity to set up Stealth Rock or get chip damage with Stone Edge or Scald. Both of these Pokemon have the option to run Sturdy, making Ursaring's job of KOing them even harder.

**Ghost-type Pokemon**: Gourgeist-XL is usually able to wall Ursaring indefinitely and threaten it with a lot of damage from Foul Play. Black Glasses Spiritomb is able to take one hit from an unboosted Ursaring while 2HKOing it, and Aguav Berry variants can handle it in a similar manner.

**Fake Out and Protect**: This is more of a way to check the Trick Room playstyle that Ursaring often finds itself on, but stalling Trick Room turns helps minimize the damage Ursaring can do. Protect users like Regirock allow the player to scout what move Ursaring is going for, forcing the opponent to make a prediction on whether it will switch out or not, and Kangaskhan's Fake Out can do a sizable amount of damage to Ursaring.

**Faster Pokemon**: Outside of Trick Room, Ursaring is extremely slow, leaving it easily revenge killed by anything faster with a strong STAB move or Fighting-type coverage.

Hi this is ready for check

I put Fake Out/Protect in checks and counters even though they're more of checks to trick room than just ursaring itself so if that shouldn't be there then I'll take it out, just figured I'd add it first

  • A monstrous Attack stat of 130 would make Ursaring a force to be reckoned with as a physical wallbreaker, but it doesn't stop there.
  • The burn damage nerf in Generation 7 made the Guts ability much more viable, and Ursaring definitely benefits from it with its STAB Facade. (ik it's a bit early, but refrain from mentioning generational shifts / transitions / whatever the word is.)
  • Ursaring also has access to Swords Dance, allowing it to boost its Attack even further.
  • These traits make Ursaring a very threatening physical presence for many teams but you'd be Ursa-wrong (:blobstop:) to think that it's perfect.
  • Ursaring's fairly low Speed means that it's very likely to take the first hit before dealing out an attack and its mediocre bulk means it likely won't take that hit well.
  • Although, this low Speed makes Ursaring a very good choice for Trick Room teams, which is often where it ends up.
  • While it does have a large amount of coverage moves it can use, Ursaring still finds itself very predictable as it generally chooses the same moves for any set.
  • I would restructure this overview, it reads a bit clunky imo. Start with mentioning its high Attack in combination with Swords Dance, its coverage, and its low Speed making it a perfect wallbreaker on Trick Room, then mention its decent bulk preventing priority outside of Mach Punch from threatening it very much followed by it being pressured by a ton outside of Trick Room. After this, mention that it faces competition from other Normal wallbreakers like Stoutland and Zangoose, which work on more playstyles.

Moves
========
  • Protect is used to ensure that Ursaring is burned by its Flame Orb
  • Swords Dance can be used to take advantage of switches it causes and allow it to OHKO almost anything in the tier (provide specific examples of ohkos that are guaranteed as a result of being at +2.) (put this before protect to reflect above change.)
  • Facade is Ursaring's go-to STAB move with 140 base power when burned that is also boosted by STAB and a Guts boosted Attack stat
  • Crunch is used to hit Ghost-types like Oricorio-G and Gourgeist-XL supereffectively (also hits spiritomb and sableye neutrally, preventing ursaring from being completely walled by them.)
  • Close Combat hits Rock- and Steel-types that resist Facade like Regirock, Aggron, and Carracosta
Set Details
========
  • The given EVs maximize Ursaring's Attack stat, allowing to break through just about any Pokemon in the tier. A Brave nature is used to make its low Speed more effective under Trick Room.
  • Guts boosts Ursaring's Attack even higher when affected by status.
  • A Flame Orb is used to assure that Ursaring can have Guts activated and burn's nerf in generation 7 makes it better than using a Toxic Orb. (same thing about generational changes or w/e applies here, too.)
Usage Tips
========
  • Ursaring is a hard-hitting wallbreaker and as such, appreciates the help of U-turn and Volt Switch to get in on something it can take advantage of or threaten.
  • Ursaring is best used under Trick Room as a physical breaker, as there aren't many good checks to Ursaring that resist its coverage.
  • Even with a sky high Attack stat, Ursaring can fail to harm defensive Ghost-types like Gourgeist-XL and Spiritomb so it should try and play around those, especially since they are able to beat Ursaring with Foul Play.
  • Elaborate on when Ursaring should use Swords Dance.
  • Prediction reliant, since Trick Room is a hyper offensive playstyle.
  • Should mainly be used to pave the way for a late-game sweeper like Alolan Exeggutor to clean.
  • Something about attempting to activate Guts by revenge killing a weakened foe under Trick Room.
Team Options
========
  • Trick Room setters are near mandatory partners for Ursaring. Carbink and Alolan Exeggutor are two of the best Trick Room setters in the tier and both help Ursaring with their roles on Trick Room teams.
  • Special wallbreakers like Alolan Exeggutor and Wishiwashi help Ursaring deal with physically defensive Pokemon, namely Regirock and Gourgeist-XL. (both also have an easier time cleaning after ursaring goes to work.)
  • Entry hazard setters like Carbink and Mesprit also help Ursaring wear down its checks and break potential Focus Sashes so that Ursaring doesn't have to worry about taking too much damage between attacks.
  • Pokemon with moves like Memento, Explosion, and Healing Wish all help Ursaring get in for free and many Pokemon have access to one of these moves along with Trick Room. Examples include Carbink, Gourgeist-XL, Mesprit, Audino, and Musharna. Even Misdreavus can be used though its Speed is a little high for a Trick Room team. (remove the bit about missy.) (something about how mesprit and musharna also check fighting-types.)
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • A faster Guts set can be used with max Speed and a Jolly nature, though it is still fairly slow and is outclassed by Pokemon with better speed tiers like Zangoose and Stoutland and the power difference from Adamant is noticable.
  • Quick Feet can be used with a Toxic Orb instead of a Flame Orb but even with the boost Ursaring is easily outsped and its lackluster bulk leaves it easily revenge killed.
  • Earthquake can be used as a coverage option over Close Combat to eliminate the Defense and Special Defense drops while still hitting most of the same Pokemon but lacks a lot of power in comparison to Close Combat and Ursaring's already low bulk likely won't be affected too much by the stat drops. (ursaring's bulk isn't that bad.)
  • Play Rough should be here imo. It's useful for destroying Spiritomb and Sableye, but it doesn't cover much else.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Fighting-types threaten Ursaring greatly with their super-effective STAB attacks. Hitmonchan and Primeape easily outspeed and can KO Ursaring, though Hitmonchan needs a little chip to make it a for-sure OHKO, while Gurdurr can tank a Facade and 2HKO Ursaring.

**Physical walls**: Pokemon like Regirock and defensive Carracosta require Ursaring to set up a Swords Dance in order to OHKO them and can use the opportunity to set up Stealth Rock or get chip damage with Stone Edge or Scald.

**Ghost-type Pokemon**: Gourgeist-XL is able to wall Ursaring indefinitely and threaten it with a lot of damage from Foul Play. Blackglasses Spiritomb is able to take one hit from Ursaring while 2HKOing it.

**Fake Out and Protect (make this more about stalling out trick room turns.)**: This is more of a way to check the Trick Room playstyle that Ursaring often finds itself on, but wasting Trick Room turns helps minimize the damage Ursaring can do. Protect users like Ferroseed and Regirock allow the player to scout what move Ursaring is going for and Kangaskhan's Fake Out can even do a sizable amount of damage to Ursaring.

Faster Pokemon should have a section here, both outside of and under Trick Room.

It's not the Overview's responsibliity to talk about "would-be" scenarios in this manner, as that sort of trends towards theorymon, which kind of defeats the point)
  • Ursaring also has access to Swords Dance, allowing it to boost its Attack even further.
  • Ursaring's fairly low Speed makes it a perfect member for Trick Room teams, which is often where it ends up.

(This doesn't belong in Usage Tips, it's more team support. It's also kind of hard to find examples but if I were to name a couple I would say Mesprit, Wishiwashi [the latter is more situational but it can force switches into stuff that Ursaring loves to come in on, like clef, audino, and what not], and Eelektross [weird example but i've used this thing to check oriocorio which is typically a huge threat to TR teams if it's not up])
  • Ursaring is best used under Trick Room as a physical breaker, as there aren't many good checks to Ursaring that resist its coverage.

  • Ursaring as a very prediction reliant Pokemon, as Trick Room is a hyper offensive playstyle and as such, it can pay off to think ahead to what an opponent may do.
  • As its main role is to be a wallbreaker, it should do so to allow a late game cleaner like Alolan Exeggutor to finish the other parts of a team.
  • Ursaring can also try and activate its Guts ability by coming in on a weakened opponent that it can easily pick off even without an Attack boost.

  • I'd talk about the wallbreaking core concerning Ursaring and Crabominale. Crabominale appreciates Ursaring coming in to absorb status [notably burns] and weakening stuff like defensive Mesprit, Musharna, and Pyukumuku a bit more safely, while Crab can deal with somr really bulky Normal resists like Regirock better, and even kill certain Ghost-types like Gourgeist-XL and Spiritomb relatively safely with TR up

  • A faster Guts set can be used with max Speed and a Jolly nature, though it is still fairly slow and is outclassed by Pokemon with better speed tiers like Zangoose and Stoutland and the power difference from Adamant is noticable.
  • Quick Feet can be used with a Toxic Orb instead of a Flame Orb but even with the boost Ursaring is easily outsped (I would note that it's also still naturally slower than dudes like Pyroar and Lycanroc, just to add some more information) and its lackluster bulk leaves it easily revenge killed. (also it's notably weaker than Guts due to the need to run Jolly and no Guts boosts obviously)
  • Earthquake can be used as a coverage option over Close Combat to eliminate the Defense and Special Defense drops while still hitting most of the same Pokemon but lacks a lot of power in comparison to Close Combat and Ursaring isn't meant to be taking hits so it won't be affected too much by the stat drops.
  • Play Rough is an option to hit Sableye and Spiritomb for super-effective damage but it generally worse than Crunch for its ability to hit a wider range of Ghost-types.
  • Bulk Up - Still nabs many of the same OHKOs and 2HKOs after a boost, but the extra Defense boost gives it a bit more sturdiness against popular priority attacks, helps reduce Foul Play damage, and just makes it harder to revenge kill.

Checks and Counters
===================

(Talk about Hitmonchan and Gurdurr's options in Mach Punch, which is a way that they can respond if Trick Room ends up still being active)

Blackglasses Spiritomb is able to take one hit from an unboosted Ursaring while 2HKOing it. (Aguav variants can deal with it also if running Foul Play)

**Wasting turns** (not sure how to phrase this) (Personally I think it's totally fine to just cut to the chase and simply say **Fake Out and Protect**, as it gets straight to the point, and then you can go on to talk about how they are similar in ways of dealing with Ursaring/TR and how they can differ [Protect = Scout, Fake Out = added damage]): This is more of a way to check the Trick Room playstyle that Ursaring often finds itself on, but stalling Trick Room turns helps minimize the damage Ursaring can do. Protect users like Ferroseed and Regirock allow the player to scout what move Ursaring is going for and Kangaskhan's Fake Out can even do a sizable amount of damage to Ursaring.

**Faster Pokemon**: Outside of Trick Room, Ursaring is extremely slow, leaving it easily revenge killed by anything faster with a strong STAB move or Fighting-type coverage.
I will say that I am personally skeptical about Protect being on the set but looks fine otherwise bud

Edit: I'm QC now so consider this a 2/3 once you implement this

[OVERVIEW]

A monstrous Attack stat of 130 alone would make Ursaring a force to be reckoned with as a physical wallbreaker, but it doesn't stop there. Ursaring also has access to Swords Dance and a great ability in Guts, allowing it to boost its Attack even further (this first part really does a great job of overselling it, but i think you should dull it down. makes it sound way better than it really is). Ursaring's fairly low Speed makes it a perfect member for Trick Room teams, which is often where it ends up. Its passable bulk means that Ursaring isn't too threatened by priority not named Mach Punch. These traits make Ursaring a very threatening physical presence for many teams but you'd be Ursa-wrong :blobglare: (i should reject it on this joke alone)to think that it's perfect. Ursaring's fairly low Speed means that it's very likely to take the first hit before dealing out an attack and its mediocre bulk means it likely won't take that hit well (you don't mention this being outside of trick room, it'll almost always move first inside of trick room). It also faces competition from other physical Normal-types such as Kangaskhan and Zangoose, which fit on many more playstyles than Ursaring (basically if you're not using trick room, you're not using ursaring, simple as). While it does have a large amount of coverage moves it can use, Ursaring still finds itself very predictable as it generally chooses the same moves for any set.

overview needs a slight bit of work. ursaring is a primary wallbreaker for dedicated trick room teams and finds it very easy to break through most pokemon with a combination of swords dance and guts, which makes it easier for other trick room mons to sweep. everything in its movepool, even when used super effectively, is essentially weaker than a guts-boosted facade.

Swords Dance is used to take advantage of switches it causes and allow it to OHKO almost anything in the tier, specifically letting it OHKO Regirock and Carracosta with Close Combat, Weezing with Facade, and standard Pursuit Spiritomb with Crunch after Stealth Rock damage (hmm. i'd mention the possibility of both sturdy regirock and carracosta, so maybe mention that prior stealth rock damage is required. swords dance can be used even if it doesn't force a switch too actually, just because it has decent enough bulk). Protect can be used to ensure that Ursaring is burned by its Flame Orb though it wastes turns of Trick Room without providing the offensive pressure of Swords Dance (remove this protect sucks). Facade is Ursaring's go-to STAB move with 140 base power when burned that is also boosted by STAB and a Guts boosted Attack stat. (this is the move that you'll be using 95% of the time, the other two are used when either ghost- or rock-types are on the field) Crunch is used to hit Ghost-types like Oricorio-G and Gourgeist-XL supereffectively while also hitting Sableye and Spiritomb neutrally and preventing Ursaring from being completely walled by them. Close Combat hits Rock- and Steel-types that resist Facade like Regirock, Aggron, and Carracosta.

i can't put my finger on it, but this just doesn't seem like there's enough description...

Set Details
========
(space)
The given EVs maximize Ursaring's Attack stat, allowing to break through just about any Pokemon in the tier (max hp lets it survive priority hits and also allows it to set up swords dance with more ease). A Brave nature is used to make its low Speed more effective under Trick Room. Guts boosts Ursaring's Attack even higher when affected by status (stops pokemon that usually use status to beat physical attackers). A Flame Orb is used to assure that Ursaring can have Guts activated. (prevents other status from annoying it too)

Usage Tips
========
(space)
Ursaring is best used under Trick Room as a physical breaker (only used under trick room, i mean that's why it's specified as a trick room sweeper, so this seems redundant), as there aren't many good checks to Ursaring that resist its coverage (it's mainly that facade + swords dance kills the tier). Even with a sky high Attack stat, Ursaring can fail to harm defensive Ghost-types like Gourgeist-XL and Spiritomb so it should try and play around those, especially since they are able to beat Ursaring with Foul Play. Ursaring should try and use Swords Dance when coming in on a weak opponent like defensive Mesprit, or Clefairy that won't do too much damage to it, though it should be wary of the rare Knock Off from the latter two so it doesn't lose its Flame Orb (this is confusing. you say the latter two like there's supposed to be a pokemon between clefairy and mesprit?). Ursaring as a very prediction reliant Pokemon, as Trick Room is a hyper offensive playstyle and as such, it can pay off to think ahead to what an opponent may do (this is so general that's it's useless. apply this to some situations and mention trick room burning via switching). As its main role is to be a wallbreaker, it should do so to allow a late game cleaner like Alolan Exeggutor to finish the other parts of a team. Ursaring can also try and activate its Guts ability by coming in on a weakened opponent that it can easily pick off even without an Attack boost. (again, super general and almost repeats an earlier point. you need at amend this)

Team Options
========

Trick Room setters are near mandatory (not near mandatory, 100% mandatory) partners for Ursaring. Carbink and Alolan Exeggutor are two of the best Trick Room setters in the tier and both help Ursaring with their roles on Trick Room teams (huh, this is lacking so much description. alolan exeggutor can break the few pokemon the ursaring has an issue with and is great late game once ursaring has broken down teams. carbink is almost always the lead for stall teams with its access to explosion, magic coat, stealth rock etc. i'd also mention that uxie can now be used, especially with memento being super cool for ursaring). Ursaring is a hard-hitting wallbreaker and as such, appreciates the help of U-turn and Volt Switch to get in on something it can take advantage of or threaten (i can't think of any user of volt switch on trick room. also really most of the time you'd use healing wish or memento or explosion to get it in easier). Mesprit and Wishiwashi are notable as they can lure in special walls like Audino and Eelektross for Ursaring to take advantage of. Special wallbreakers like Alolan Exeggutor and Wishiwashi help Ursaring deal with physically defensive Pokemon, namely Regirock and Gourgeist-XL and both have an easier time cleaning after Ursaring breaks a team. Entry hazard setters like Carbink and Mesprit also help Ursaring wear down its checks and break potential Focus Sashes so that Ursaring doesn't have to worry about taking too much damage between attacks (remove this and expand on the second sentence). Pokemon with moves like Memento, Explosion, and Healing Wish all help Ursaring get in for free and many Pokemon have access to one of these moves along with Trick Room. Examples include Carbink, Gourgeist-XL, Mesprit, Audino, and Musharna (no, you'd never use gourgeist-xl on trick room, and mesprit is also borderline useless too compared to musharna or uxie) (see my earlier point). Mesprit and Musharna also act as Fighting-type checks that help Ursaring feel less threatened by Mach Punch. Ursaring and Crabominable form a great physically offensive core for Trick Room, with Ursaring absorbing status and being fairly reliable with breaking through Psychic-types like Musharna and Mesprit while Crabominable can take care of Normal-type resists like Regirock and Gourgeist-XL.

you really just talk about the same pokemon numerous times and the whole paragraph is pretty poorly structured and feels very fragmented. i'd strongly advise that you look over this thoroughly.

A faster Guts set can be used with max Speed and a Jolly nature, though it is still fairly slow and is outclassed by Pokemon with better speed tiers like Zangoose and kangaskhan (caps) and the power difference from Adamant is noticable (i mean, you can run max speed with adamant and it'd still work). Quick Feet can be used with a Toxic Orb instead of a Flame Orb but even with the boost Ursaring is naturally outsped by things like Pyroar and Lycanroc and its lackluster bulk leaves it easily revenge killed (i mean its bulk isn't even that bad and jolly quick feet ursaring outspeeds non-choice scarf pyroar). It's also much weaker than other sets due to running a Jolly nature and not having the Guts boost. Earthquake can be used as a coverage option over Close Combat to eliminate the Defense and Special Defense drops while still hitting most of the same Pokemon but lacks a lot of power in comparison to Close Combat and Ursaring isn't meant to be taking hits so it won't be affected too much by the stat drops (this sentence runs on too much o.o). Play Rough is an option to hit Sableye and Spiritomb for super-effective damage but it generally worse than Crunch for its ability to hit a wider range of Ghost-types. Bulk Up is an alternative setup move and while it doesn't provide as much offensive pressure as Swords Dance, the Defense boost helps its matchup against Foul Play users and other physical attackers (i guess if you're using bulk up you're also going to be using something like rest talk, similar to a gen 6 set. even then vig outclasses it).

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Fighting-types threaten Ursaring greatly with their super-effective STAB attacks. Hitmonchan and Primeape easily outspeed and can KO Ursaring (outside of trick room, also hitmonchan is a 50% chance for the 252 adamant set, so that's something to note), though Hitmonchan needs a little chip to make it a for-sure OHKO, while Gurdurr can tank a Facade and 2HKO Ursaring. Hitmonchan and Gurdurr's Mach Punch also lets them hit Ursaring first even under Trick Room and can pick it off if weakened. (all lose to it at +2 however, and mach punch doesn't do enough unless severely weakened)

**Physical walls**: Pokemon like Regirock and defensive Carracosta require Ursaring to set up a Swords Dance in order to OHKO them and can use the opportunity to set up Stealth Rock or get chip damage with Stone Edge or Scald. (sturdy mention too please)

**Ghost-type Pokemon**: Gourgeist-XL is able to wall Ursaring indefinitely (you do talk about ursaring potentially beating it earlier in this analysis?) and threaten it with a lot of damage from Foul Play. Black Glasses Spiritomb is able to take one hit from an unboosted Ursaring while 2HKOing it and Aguav Berry variants can handle it in a similar manner.

**Fake Out and Protect**: This is more of a way to check the Trick Room playstyle that Ursaring often finds itself on, but stalling Trick Room turns helps minimize the damage Ursaring can do. Protect users like Regirock allow the player to scout what move Ursaring (well this is redundant because they can switch moves on ursaring. it does however force 50/50s after burning a turn of trick room) is going for and Kangaskhan's Fake Out can even do a sizable amount of damage to Ursaring.

**Faster Pokemon**: Outside of Trick Room, Ursaring is extremely slow, leaving it easily revenge killed by anything faster with a strong STAB move or Fighting-type coverage.
OK. QC 3/3. But look over thoroughly before moving this to GP.

[filler info] Ursaring's Speed means and mediocre bulk mean that, [AC] outside of Trick Room, [AC] it's very likely to take the first hit before dealing out an attack and its mediocre bulk means it likely won't take that hit well vulnerable to faster attackers. It also faces competition from other physical Normal-types such as Kangaskhan and Zangoose, which fit on more common playstyles while Ursaring is usually dedicated to only Trick Room. While it does have a large amount of coverage moves it can use, Ursaring still finds itself very predictable as because it generally chooses the same moves for any set.

With 140 base power 140-Base Power, STAB, and a boost from Guts when Ursaring is burned, when burned that is also boosted by STAB and Guts, Facade can break through almost anything in the tier. Crunch is used to hit Ghost-types like Oricorio-G and Gourgeist-XL supereffectively super effectively while also hitting Sableye and Spiritomb neutrally and preventing to prevent Ursaring from being completely walled by them.
