Lycanroc is 100% a check. It outspeeds and destroys it with stone edge. It can even switch in on a hurricane or ssss, but it doesn’t like doing it (especially ssss) due to its lowish bulk. It can do it however. Scald does ko though, so it’s not a counter or anything.

Alolan Raichu is a guaranteed check on Swanna. It forces Swanna out, then it can set up with Nasty Plot and sweep so long as your opponent's Sucker Punch user is gone. Thunderbolt is a guaranteed 1HKO, even without setting up.

SubToxic Articuno
Articuno is a check to Swanna, utilizing it’s great natural bulk to eat up neutral hits and threaten an OHKO with Freeze Dry. It also packs recovery and a way to abuse switches with Substitute. Submitting as a check because Hurricane —> Z-Hurricane does quite a lot, and if rocks are up, Articuno is just kinda screwed.

Togedemaru is a incredible swanna check as it outspeeds swanna and kill It with a super effective Zing zap,while it often forces swanna just to switch out and can easily pivot with uturn

Nominating Cradily as a counter. Storm Drain lets you dodge Scald burns, and also powers up Giga Drain. Even with the flying neutrality Hurricane into SSSS will do a max of 80%, so you can recover off the damage. Toxic and Recover allows you to outstall it, and Giga Drain lets you punish the Roosts as well. As an added bonus, you can keep Rocks up against Swanna as well.

AV Kecleon works as a check here. I say check because Swanna has access to Scald so a burn on Kec ruins it's plans to beat Swanna. I did notice something nice about the calcs:

252 SpA Swanna Hurricane vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Kecleon: 78-93 (25.6 - 30.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
As you can see, even with Swanna using it's best move, it's a 4HKO (oh yeah, only 70% accurate too!) Scald doesn't do any better.

252 SpA Swanna Supersonic Skystrike (185 BP) vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Kecleon: 132-156 (43.4 - 51.3%) -- 4.7% chance to 2HKO (This is assuming that Kec sadly comes in on this, only a 1 time use though!)

Kecleon's calcs:

252+ Atk Protean Kecleon Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Swanna: 133-157 (45.7 - 53.9%) -- 44.1% chance to 2HKO (If Kecleon can get Swanna on the switch-in and given that Flyinium Z is a non-removable item, a 2HKO is possible here!)

252+ Atk Protean Kecleon Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Swanna: 144-169 (49.4 - 58%) -- 98.4% chance to 2HKO (Sucker has a better chance here, but Swanna does have Roost so be aware of that)

252+ Atk Protean Kecleon Shadow Sneak vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Swanna: 82-97 (28.1 - 33.3%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO (And of course if Swanna has 1/4 of it's HP left, a Sneak is a guaranteed OHKO!)

So, the risk here is worth the reward I'd say. Drain Punch doesn't help with recovery given Swanna's flying typing but, hopefully it'll never need it! At your own risk here

Bringing forth SubCM Oricorio-Sensu as a check to Toxic Boost Zangoose. Sensu has the merit of outspeeding Zangoose and is also immune to Quick Attack. If you need to, you can also bring in Sensu on any attack except for Knock Off, and always threatens an OHKO with Z-Hurricane.

btw Knock Off completely nukes you, even with the Z crystal.

Crotomb it's definitely a great counter for Zangoose. His type makes him immune to two of the main moves (CC and Facade), with Z-move he takes no absolute damage from Knock Off, and can kill the Pokémon just with his Z-move (With Rocks)

Colbur Gourgeist is definitely a Zangoose counter,due to Gourgeist enormous defensive bulk It can comfortably take both Facade and close combat due to it's immunity to both,and knock off just does 33%~ at maximum at the first hit,allowing you to heal and foul play after some Toxic chip damage

I think scarf Kabutops is a good check to Zangoose. Despite the fact you cannot switch in on any of its moves, if Kabutops gets the free switch, like from a slow U-turn from Mesprit, it outspeeds and OHKOs with Superpower always and if Zangoose has been chipped by mininum two rounds of Toxic, it can also get the kill with Stone Edge.

Pyukumuku can be a good check to Toxic Boost Zangoose as it can take any hit and ohko back with Counter. It also doesn't care if Zangoose wants to SD up due to Unaware.

Sableye is a good counter to non-SD Zangoose, as it switches in, takes a chunk from Knock Off but can proceed to spam Recover until Zangoose dies to its own Toxic or until it's safe enough to Foul Play. It's only a check to SD, but a well-timed Foul Play fixes that.

Primeape serves as a check here. The one thing ScarfApe needs to worry about is a Quick Attack. If the Zangoose is running Adamant:

252+ Atk Toxic Boost Zangoose Quick Attack vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Primeape: 148-175 (54.6 - 64.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

If it's running Jolly:

252 Atk Toxic Boost Zangoose Quick Attack vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Primeape: 135-160 (49.8 - 59%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO

You can see that either way QA hurts a lot! Max damage being 64.5% which becomes 64% so if I were using ScarfApe here, I'd keep him safe to deal with Zangoose. One Close Combat easily OHKOs it. You just have to live one QA.

Nominating Golurk as a Check because I couldn't think of a counter thanks to its immunity to all of Zangoose's moves bar Knock Off, and thanks to Colbur Berry you can survive the Knock Off and KO with Earthquake. Unfortunately if it gets you with Knock Off (or SD's) then you just die.

252+ Atk Toxic Boost Zangoose Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Colbur Berry Golurk: 192-227 (60 - 70.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Haunter is a good check to Zangoose. It can switch in on a predicted Facade, Close Combat, Sword Dance or Quick Attack. Then you can set up a Substitute on the switch or on an obvious Knock Off. If you run it, Disable allows you to make Zangoose imponent and resub up. However, Dazzling Gleam will be preferred for the coverage.
If you don't need a sub, Haunter outspeeds Zangoose and can kill it with a life orb-boosted Sludge Bomb or using its Z-move.

252 SpA Life Orb Haunter Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Zangoose: 281-331 (97.9 - 115.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and toxic damage
