The winner of Week 1 is Algeria4Ever with Occa Berry Metagross! Congratulations, and your set is now in the archive.

Week 2: Latias

Ever since Latias dropped to UU in Gen 7, it has been a key staple on many teams. It has a variety of different options such as Choice Scarf, Electrium Z, Dragonium Z, and even more niche options like Choice Specs, and Latias fits on a variety of team archetypes too. It can be an overwhelming threat due to its high-powered STAB moves, good Speed tier, and variety of coverage options.

Lures are due on Friday 8th June 11:59PM GMT+1

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Mirror Coat

Uh this is a tech that's pretty neat to deal with a lot of stuff but I've lured Lati a number of times with it. Basically it eats a Psychic or some shit and just murders it with Mirror Coat n_n.

Azelf @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Psyshock
- Nasty Plot

As a Psychic-type, Azelfs moves are usually taken by Latias. Ghostium seems like a fun way to lure it.

slowbro (1).gif
Slowbro @ Icium Z
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Slack Off

Usually, a common switch in for Slowbro on offensive team would be Latias. This set capitalizes on it by setting up Calm Mind on the switch and catching it with a Z-Move. Even CM Latias falls to you. This also isn't completely useless outside of Latias, as it also hits Celebi, Hydreigon, Serperior, Mega Altaria, Gliscor (harder than Scald) and more. Reducing damage from Knock Off and being immune to Trick is very nice as well. The only downside is that when the opponent sees no Leftovers and a mega slot already taken, they might assume it's Icium Z. However, this is a very minor issue imo (bluffing mega can work) and still works good.

+1 0 SpA Slowbro Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 300-354 (99.3 - 117.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
0 SpA Slowbro Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 202-238 (66.8 - 78.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Latias Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Slowbro: 228-268 (57.8 - 68%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers
252 SpA Latias Gigavolt Havoc (185 BP) vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Slowbro: 288-340 (73 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Now for my lure, honestly it's not very good but w/e, a lure is a lure. As Latias resists both of Celebi's STABs, Latias is a common Celebi switchin. However, with Fairium-Z Celebi can lure in Latias almost freely and smack it with a Twinkle Tackle. It doesn't OHKO, but it does a shit ton of damage and leaves it severely weakened for the rest of the team.

252 SpA Celebi Twinkle Tackle (160 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 232-274 (76.8 - 90.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Celebi Twinkle Tackle (160 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 232-274 (76.8 - 90.7%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Hippowdon @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Slack Off
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

common hippozdon but with crunch on whirlwind. Hippowdown is a free switch in for latias because he generally don´t touch it and have a free attack or a cm. Darkinium Z allows you to ohko latias even at full. You can also have an impish nature like common hippowdown but then you have 50% chance to ohko tias ( ohko guaranteed after stealth rock )
0+ Atk Hippowdon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latias: 304-358 (100.6 - 118.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO after sandstorm damage
0 Atk Hippowdon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latias: 276-326 (91.3 - 107.9%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after sandstorm damage

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~

Volcanion @ Iapapa Berry
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 48 SpA / 84 SpD / 128 Spe
Rash Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Flamethrower
- Steam Eruption

Toxic the Latias on the switch that is a "common" switch-in to him when grass/waters are weakened, and then spam Substitute.
if he uses psyshocks/psychic you just have to spam substitute until to activate the Iapapa Berry and so win the 1v1 or or just a lot weaken it with Toxic.

if he uses Draco Meteor,Spam Substitute is also a good idea because you wall it after the spa drop and your hp recovery thanks to the Iapapa.

The opposing Latias used Draco Meteor!
Volcanion lost 81.0% of its health!
The opposing Latias's Special Attack fell harshly!
Volcanion ate its Iapapa Berry!
Volcanion restored HP using its Iapapa Berry!
The opposing Latias lost some of its HP!

Volcanion used Substitute!
Volcanion put in a substitute!
Volcanion lost 24.8% of its health!

The opposing Latias was hurt by poison!

That's exactly why the spread is so precise and why he is rash.
248 hp/84- SpD allows him to take enough damages from Latias LO ta activate the Iapapa Berry and then wall it.
128 Spe allow him to outspeed maximum speed Marowak-A and the rest of Evs go to SpA.

Good Partner:

I like to give some good partners to prove that my set is playable and not useless.

1)

Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance

It takes full advantage of the weakening of Latias and can pressure the Waters which are troublesome for Volcanion

2)

Infernape @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Vacuum Wave
- Focus Blast

It takes full advantage of the weakening of Latias and can pressure the Grass which are also troublesome for Volcanion

X-Scissor Cobalion

Cobalion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- X-Scissor
- Close Combat
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance

This is a classic offensive set that drops Swords Dance or Agility (depending on your team's structure) in order to use a third coverage move other than the two regular STAB. I think Rock Polish
X-Scissor is nice to deal properly with careless Latias and Celebi that generally can think they are safe, but they are wrong because this move has quite a big number of targets in the UU environment.
A Focus Sash ensures two hits or, at the very least, one if your opponent outspeeds you. Hazards control is mandatory to keep the sash intact.

In the case of Latias, you have to catch it on the switch to win 1 vs 1 or you have to be alrady at +2 with the Sash intact.

Calcs with UNboosted hits:
252 Atk Cobalion X-Scissor vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latias: 148-176 (49 - 58.2%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Cobalion X-Scissor vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Celebi: 228-272 (56.4 - 67.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Cobalion X-Scissor vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Azelf: 182-216 (62.5 - 74.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Cobalion X-Scissor vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sharpedo: 274-324 (97.5 - 115.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Cobalion X-Scissor vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Rotom-Mow: 128-152 (53.1 - 63%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (this is a little less than CCombat, but you don't drop your defences)

The winner of Week 2 is Juuno with Icium Z Slowbro! Congratulations, and your set is now in the archive.

Week 3: Mega Altaria

As one of the highest-ranked Mega Evolutions on the VR and rising in ladder usage, Altaria has really made a splash as a key UU threat through its ability to check threatening Pokemon like Breloom and Hydreigon. It has a variety of sets ranging from a special attacker to a Dragon Dance sweeper, as well as access to a variety of supportive options as well. Mega Altaria can be annoying to some teams, so how can it be lured?

Lures are due on Sunday 17th June 11:59PM GMT+1. Good luck!

Azu left the tier. Where are the good offensive water types anyways.

Crawdaunt @ Poisonium Z
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Wave

BAM! The proof is in the pudding.

252 SpA Crawdaunt Acid Downpour (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Altaria-Mega: 284-336 (97.5 - 115.4%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

OHKO’s most fairies on the switch in. Fast enough to clean up the defensive ones with another blow. Dark water types are literally the best lures for bulky dragon fairy types. This set will guarantee lure Mega Altaria and most fairies every time. Have fun!

hydreigon.gif

Hydreigon @ Poisonium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Belch
- U-Turn

This set was more common during Azumarill meta, but is still good. The goal is to lure Fairies with Z-Belch for other things to clean later. A good thing about this set is that nobody expects it or scouts for it because it's declined and has seen little usage after Azumarill left. It also hits other Fairies, so it's not completely useless outside of Altaria and isn't prediction-reliant. It does about 80% to max HP Altaria and even has a chance to OHKO offensive after rocks + Dark Pulse. The last move is customizeable, but I think U-Turn is the most effective at doing its job because you can bluff Scarf.

Pinboim3

Rain days are the worst
Seismitoad @ Poisonium Z
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Stealth Rock

This set is mainly used in Monotype but it still works in UU, While Seismitoad is oftenly used as a tank it also has a great movepool that we can take advantages of. With a Seismitoad on the field Mega Altaria/Altaria(with Natural Cure) can come in safely expecting SR or Toxic but it will be caught off guard with an Acid Downpour that can OHKO an offensive variant and it does about 80% to Support Mega Altaria.

252 SpA Seismitoad Acid Downpour (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Altaria-Mega: 274-324 (94.1 - 111.3%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Seismitoad Acid Downpour (175 BP) vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Altaria-Mega: 272-322 (77 - 91.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

1528990655237.png

Breloom @ Ganlon Berry
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Natural Gift
- Bulk Up
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance

This set was mainly use when amounguss was uu, Ganon berry transform natural into a ice type attack of 100 base power. This set catch offensive altaria on the switch and make a lot of damage, breloom got the ko with mach punch after stealth rock damage. and natural gift a +2 have 68.8% to ohko defensive variant after stealth rock damage. But, be carefull you need to scout altaria set before using natural gift.

252 Atk Breloom Natural Gift vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Altaria-Mega: 202-238 (69.4 - 81.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252 Atk Breloom Natural Gift vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Altaria-Mega: 294-348 (83.2 - 98.5%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
