UU Simple Questions Thread

K so why hasn't Ernesto and Koko implemented their reasoning for their Salamence vote?
Does it really matter lol? It's not the end of the world that Ernie and Koko didn't put their Salamence paragraphs up. Like Ununhexium said, people do get busy or have a lot on the plate from time to time, whether it be IRL or on Smogon and tbh something that small doesn't particular sit particularly high on their to do list when Koko is the UU tier leader and Ernesto is a Moderator of the site.

Nothing is the end of the world when it concerns Pokemon so lol
Jokes aside, I am just curious since the Mence ban has been commenced for so long and they were the few that are against it.

And admittedly Salamence was one of the more controversial bans, splitting the council down the middle, so it does help when we do have justifications, unlike when it is unanimous ban. Though once again not the end of the world, but it is nice to have it there as a good reference point, especially for people who just enter the tier.

Since Porygon2 is still UU (At least I hope it is don't kill me if it isn't) I'm just gonna ask here
Could someone get it's "default" set for me off the Beta Dex? I can't get it to work on my IPad.
TY in advance ^_^

Yeah I hate the new look of the smogon dex too. But yeah I think Porygon2 is still UU or if some time has passed atleast viable.

Defensive
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SDef
Calm/Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Thunder Wave/Toxic
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt/Discharge

"Duck Tank"
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic/Download
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spd
- Recover
- Tri Attack
- Ice Beam
- Discharge/Thunderbolt

There's also a trick room set you could build around by replacing Tri attack.

Much appreciated! ^_^

yamb Well, at the moment here are some of the big ones:
85 Base Speed (max 295): home of Heracross which is often something that you would like to outspeed
100 Base Speed (max 328): Probably the most important, needed to outspeed Mew, Entei, Jirachi, Celebi, Victini, Shaymin, Tentacruel etc.
105 Base Speed and 108 Base Speed: home of Mienshao and Infernape respectively who are pretty big players
And lastly 120 Base Speed (max 372): Alakazam lives here as probably the fastest unboosted Pokemon in the tier (don't really worry about Mega-Aero as he is on a whole other level and you'll need a scarf to beat him)

Note that the all these speed tiers (other than Zam) also have a high likelihood of being Scarfed.

I feel like adding the 115 speed tier, which includes Azelf, Raikou, Mega Absol and Mega Houndoom...

I might as well add 130 which includes Crobat and un-Mega'd Aerodactyl (Jolteon if you feel like that extra speed over Raikou is important lol). With all the flying spam going on the tier these two has grown in popularity in usage, the former forming bird cores and the later checks bird spam.

Thanks guys. I mainly asked because I was wondering how to fit Hydreigon onto my team, since I'm still in the 'gotta go fast' mentality that comes with being new to competitive.

Is it possible that we will get a Kelfki retest somewhere down the line? This one has been bugging me for a long time - not only was it banned with a minority vote, but a lot of those who voted to ban it weren't even sure it was broken. Plus, Klefki dropped on the viability rankings from S to A- when it was banned, as people were starting to realize it wasn't quite as OP as it was made out to be. On top of that, the meta has shifted so much since then who knows how it fares now.

May I suggest the creation of a dedicated Hyper Offense guide/thread specifically for UU? All HO guides are redacted with OU in mind. In my humble opinion, a thread discussing the premises of HO, HO cores, sets, hazard setters and spinners, best leads (It's Galvantula worth it vs Azelf vs Meowstick), etc., with skilled players sharing a little of their knowledge would greatly benefit this community and all new players wanting to learn about this great playstyle in UU (myself included).

Smogon is and has always been a community effort. There's no overlord calling shots or dictating what content we churn out.
If you feel the need for this guide... you can head over to the Sixth Gen Contributions sub-forum and volunteer to write one yourself, or suggest it to a potential volunteer here.

Edit: the user @above/below edited his original post, leaving my reply not so appropriate now.

Editing the post a little because it can be misunderstood as an overlord calling shot or dictation. The spirit was to promote the idea.

Everything is going to be retested after the council goes through everything once, so we're defo gonna retest it.

You can make a project where people can write about HO Pokemon and stuff and then update the OP accordingly.

Hey guys I'm pretty new to uu and was wondering what's your opinion on using Mega Aggron and Dugtrio in a trapper combo, and whether it be practical.

252 Atk Dugtrio Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Darmanitan: 384-452 (109.4 - 128.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Dugtrio Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Lucario: 318-374 (113.1 - 133%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Dugtrio Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Infernape: 314-372 (107.1 - 126.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I was wondering about Dugtrio since I noticed he can outspeed and kill pretty much every popular fire type in the tier, but not only KO them but trap them aswell.

Even with sash the only one here that can get the KO on sashed Dugtrio is Lucario cause ES.

Banded Victini is also a potential victim.

252 Atk Dugtrio Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Victini: 236-282 (69.2 - 82.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+
252 Atk Dugtrio Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Victini: 126-150 (36.9 - 43.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Alakazam also has to fear Dugtrio

252 Atk Dugtrio Sucker Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Alakazam: 238-280 (94.4 - 111.1%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
