UU Synergies

Okay, so UU has grown into a HUGE tier. It seems like everyone wants to try it out. It now consists of just under 150 pokemon, according to the smogon tier list. I think that this UU tier has a lot of potential to be lots of fun, seeing as there are tons of combinations I am sure you can go with. But first, lets make things clear before posting.

-OU and Uber pokemon cannot be included, which means Automatic Sandstorm, Rain and Hail will not be present, making most abilities somewhat useless. (Sand Veil etc)
-According to smogon tier list, there is no NU tier, so with these two combined, there have to be some awesome synergies, even though the base stats in UU aren't stellar.

I am really interested in seeing some pokemon, or even new movesets for the UU tier, it is turning into a very interesting game, almost totally seperated from OU.

Currently, I like hypno and muk, something about those two really mess up UU teams, and I sometimes sub in Grumpig for the CM factor. POST AWAY.

In theory there are many combinations, however the reality of the situation (at least if you are playing on Shoddy Battle) is that the majority of players construct teams from a much smaller pool, subsequently teams and movesets are a lot less diverse than you might initially think.
 
I really like Xatu and Kecleon all of a sudden. They are amazing. I'll always stand by Crawdaunt as my UU CBtar :P Then you got Magcargo, he's so great! He even gets Recover!
 
BL is not currently in the UU tier. I know a lot of people want BL either OU or UU, and I definately think UU should stay the way it is, dont put overpowered pokemon in an awesome tier! Scarf Pinsir...I used that on one of my baton passing teams, Mold Breaker earthquake is so nice ^_^.

Isn't Pinsir the most overpowered thing in UU?
 
Yeah ODDish, I'm so tired of Pinsir, Scyther, Ninetales and Rotom. It's like people don't know that stuff like Vileplume, Xatu and Magcargo exist or even matter. People gotta stop thinking UU is anything like OU; you don't have to use the same six guys OVER and OVER and OVER on EVERY TEAM if you want wins.
 
Perhaps Pikachu/Pelipper; at least their type combinations cancel each other's weaknesses (a sort of UU version of gyaravire). Only Pika partially resists Electric instead of full immobility like 'Vire. Mix Pikachu imo is the best bet, with GK or HP; BB; Sub; Thunderbolt
 
I am tired of OU. Ubers, BL, and UU are awesome, UU being my personal favourite.
I could go rambling on about how much I love UU, but I would make myself look stupid in the act.
 
I've also become tired of OU, and I've recently become obsessed with Relicanth. Who teams up well with him? Grasses I assume.
 
Pinsir is moved up to bl on the marriland tier, close combat is a lot for a UU tier...especially with STAB Bug Moves...bug = deadly in UU-

Oh course that is just one thing I agree with. I think Pinsir is very overpowering for such a defensive lacking tier. Hypno and Grumpig are taken down, same with muk, steelix, and I am not sure what else, but I think it should be BL.
 
OU is starting to get repetitive as you see the same old pokemon OVER and OVER again examples include, Garchomp, Blissey, Gyarados, and Heracross. It's just tiring to keep seeing them again and again, that's why I think that UU pokes are the best as it gives them a chance to shine in their own tier and they never get old as they are full of their own little surprises:)
 
Oh come on, why are we still talking about Marriland? Most Smogon players think that forum sucks.(It really does) If you want to talk about Marriland is good just because you're a mod or something there, go do it somewhere else. Smogon just isn't the place for all those noobs from Marriland. Back on topic, I've found Encore/Yawn/Ice Beam/Pain Split Swalot to be great.(Bologo made the set, and gave it to me on MSN the other day) If Shuckle was UU, it'd be way too awesome.
 
I've been interested in UU recently, and so far my current UU team's record is 5-0. The deadliest Pokemon on my team:

Scyther @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
32 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Def / 216 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Swords Dance
- Aerial Ace
- Quick Attack
- Brick Break

When this gets a Swords Dance in, it's very hard to stop. The closest potential counters I see are Cloyster, Solrock, and Claydol. Quick Attack is the best part, as it allows me to one-shot Pokemon like Electrode who try to revenge-kill it.

Another dangerous Pokemon is Specs Altaria. People really need a dedicated special sponge, or that can and will wreak havoc on your team. Hypno is really the only decent counter, everything else in UU 2HKO'd, or else lacks good recovery so can't afford repeated switch-ins.
 
I love Vileplmue in general. I run Sludge Bomd / leech seed / Stun Spore / filler(AT for me) with a few defencive EVs and it mucks up both walls and sweepers switching into Stun Spore.
 
My walls on my UU team are Xatu, Kecleon (screws up specs sweepers BAD), and Magcargo.

My Xatu has Wish, Roost, Grass Knot, and Psychic. It's probably the best Hitmon counter ever invented. Also switches into Pinsir fairly comfortably the first time it shows up. After that I pull out Hitmontop on 'em for the Stone Edge. Xatu is amazing, such a good UU Wish Passer and physical sponge.

Magcargo is really cool too, mine has Recover, WoW, Ancientpower, Flamethrower. It's my Scyther counter, most of the time Scyther gets burned while I recover off it's Brick Breaks. If it gets cocky and tries to SD up, I either burn it manually or OHKO with ancientpower. The ground and water weaknesses suck though. Good Ninetales counter if someone else is already sleeping.

I lead off my UU matches with Kecleon. It's a real terror with Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Stealth Rock and Magic Coat. I've bounced back COUNTLESS hypnosises and then set up the rocks, which totally tears up the top UU sweepers. Boltbeam hits a lot of switch-ins, like Altaria (who thinks it can draco meteor me twice after I become dragon type >:P )



Anyways, for all you "UU" players who keep using Ninetales, Me"gay"nium, Pinsir, and Scyther, please, give the other pokemon a try. We're all tired of seeing them. Make a fresh n' funky team you guys :P



EDIT: If there is all these players who are "tired of OU" why don't I see anyone in the UU tab anymore?
 
Raichu is one of my favorite UU pokemon. It learns a great movepool (especially for electric types) and has stats in the right places to use them. And unlike Pikachu, Raichu has a couple of things that help it to stand out.

1) It gets Focus Blast.

2) It can actually take a hit and not die right away (special for the most part anyway).

3) It's fast at 100 base speed.
 
Although this may be off-topic, but has there been any plans to make a UU ladder in shoddy? I haven't been on shoddy for awhile, but I did hear there was an uber ladder...
