!!!! So let's see what each team in UUFPL has to do in this final Week 7 to make the playoffs!
Tropical Malamar Militia - These guys are already in. In fact, the furthest they can even drop is to the #2 seed if they lose this week. And even still, the Destroyers would have to win in combination with the Militia losing for them to drop to #2.
Yanmegatron and the Destroyers - These guys are also already in. They can lose 0-10 and still make it.
Flapple Bottom Jeans - And we are ready to go! Here is how the Flapples make the playoffs:
METHOD #1: If Win or Tie Week 7 vs. Enteis - This is the easiest way to make it in. If they beat the Enteis OR tie the Enteis, they are automatically in, no questions asked.
METHOD #2: If Lose Week 7 vs. Enteis - If they lose to the Enteis, then they need the Battlegirls to lose their Week 7 matchup against the Destroyers (tie won't work, they have to lose). Additionally, they would need the Hippowdons to either lose/tie or not win with a high enough margin to makeup the differential between the two teams (would require a 10 point swing, which is possible depending on how badly the Flapples lose and how decisively the Hippowdons win)
Blipbug City Battlegirls - So how do the itty bitty Blipbugs fare, and what do they do to make it in?
METHOD #1: If Win or Tie Week 7 vs. Destroyers - If they win or tie Week 7, they are automatically in the playoffs, since the Enteis/Flapples face each other and cannot both overcome the Battlegirls at the same time with a Blipbug Win/Tie, and the Hippowdons cannot overcome the differential in the event they also win.
METHOD #2: If Lose Week 7 vs. Destroyers - If they lose, they will need some help but can still make it in. If the Flapples beat the Enteis
AND the Hippowdons lose or tie to the Lombres, the Battlegirls are still in. That is only way to make it in with a loss.
Entralink Enteis - What about these Enteis? How do they get in?
METHOD #1: If Win Week 7 vs. Flapples - If they beat the Flapples this week, they are automatically in no matter what. So it's really in their hands.
METHOD #2: If Tie Week 7 vs. Flapples - If they tie the Flapples, then they need the Battlegirls to lose to the Destroyers (must be loss, cannot be tie) and they are still in, as the Hippowdons would be unable to make up the differential even if they win.
METHOD #3: If Lose Week 7 vs. Flapples - They can still make the playoffs with a loss this week, but it would take some pretty extraordinary circumstances to get in with that. First, the Hippowdons would have to lose or tie their matchup to the Lombres. Then, the Battlegirls would have to also lose but lose very badly to the point that the differential swings in favor of the Enteis (so a 4-6 loss by Enteis and 2-8 loss by the Battlegirls, or a bigger differential, would be required). That's the only way they can make it in if they lose this week.
Hungry Hungry Hippowdons - The Hippowdons are in a bit of a bad spot after their blowout loss last week, but they still have a shot of making it in. Here's how!
METHOD #1: If Win Week 7 vs. Bad Lombres - If they beat the Lombres, they would also need the Flapples to beat the Enteis, and ALSO would need the Destroyers to beat the Battlegirls, as they are unable to make up the differential otherwise.
METHOD #2: If Win Week 7 vs. Bad Lombres - Yeah I know we already said this, but check out this complicated other next-world scenario that could happen: If they beat the Lombres by a significant score, AND the Enteis beat the Flapples by a significant score, AND the Battlegirls lose, then it may be possible for the Hippowdons to gain enough ground to overcome the Flapples in a tiebreaker scenario. In fact, a Battlegirls loss plus a 7-3 Hippowdon win and a 2-8 Flapples loss (or other scores that make an exact 10 point swing) would put those two teams TIED with each other with the same differential and a TIE with each other in the Head2Head matchup, thereby forcing a crazy tiebreaker game that I have not even contemplated.
If they lose or tie Week 7, they are out, there is no other path to the playoffs, even if the other two teams ahead of them lose 0-10.
Bad Lombres de Po Town - The Lombres are out, there is no path. But let's not forget all the friends we made on this magical journey together.
Tangela Ever After - The Tangelas are also out. A lot of them were already friends though. So this journey maybe did nothing for them except get them upset with
Nalorium .
