What's the better way to counter a TR? Setting up another TR?

in most cases prankster have a huge edge and tools to deal with TR setup mons. i think there are like only 2 mons that can't be taunted. aromatise and slowbro

doubling in on the trick roomer is also an option, remember TR team can be kinda obvious. for example mega mawile is usually on TR teams.

some people use primals with certain EVs that can be used in both TR and tailwind teams.

well vgc16 is over pretty much so there isn't really much point in soft resetting for primals at this point

but to answer your question regarding legendaries in general, not really no. every iv you don't have puts you at a competitive disadvantage and you can be sure none of your opponents whom are looking to win the event will use anything but flawless mons. if it's anything less than 31 across the board (except when you don't want it to be for hidden power / tr / specific reasons) it's not worth keeping

Late response, but hopefully you tossed. You don't want a mon with imperfect stats that is boosted by the nature.

What would make someone want to invest speed EVs into a mon on a TR team?
It was a Nihilego and had no support for setting up TR.

Yes, afaik you can breed it with a Kangaskhan that knows Fake Out(Learned at Lvl. 7)
