Whiscash @ Choice Specs
Modest Nature
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Hydro Pump
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Scald

Specscash is a great COUNTER to pretty much any Klang set, but especially the fearsome Iron Defense + Shift Gear set. Modest Choice Specs boosted Earth Power will always 2HKO any Klang set. With that, Klang needs to have set up 4 Shift Gears before it can 2HKO a healthy Whiscash. As an added bonus, you still 1v1 pretty much every other Klang set and get to pretty much ruin the tier with nearly perfect coverage.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Whiscash Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Klang: 182-216 (56.3 - 66.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Whiscash: 58-70 (16 - 19.3%) -- approx. possible 6HKO

+4 0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Whiscash: 174-204 (48.1 - 56.5%) -- approx. 94.1% chance to 2HKO

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Parting Shot
- Taunt
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast

A mon with high potential even now and the only viable offensive fire type we have, besides my boy lamp of course.
This mon is really good cuz of its fast taunting to take care of shift gear and rest and fast pivoting(which doesn't work on klang sadly, not like it needs it for klang anyways). So basically it fire blasts klang to dirt and klang doesn't do much to it even if it isn't holding eviolite.

Calculations:
0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Torracat: 52-62 (19.1 - 22.8%) -- approx. possible 5HKO
0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Torracat: 78-92 (28.7 - 33.9%) -- approx. 0.3% chance to 3HKO
+1 0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Torracat: 116-138 (42.8 - 50.9%) -- approx. 1.2% chance to 2HKO
+1 0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Torracat: 78-92 (28.7 - 33.9%) -- approx. 0.3% chance to 3HKO

252 SpA Torracat Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Klang: 140-168 (43.3 - 52%) -- 9.4% chance to 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Torracat Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Klang: 278-330 (86 - 102.1%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

Scraggy @ Eviolite
Ability: Shed Skin
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Rest
I know what your thinking, why has toto chosen Scraggy over mons like machoke or Grapploct and the answer is simple, scraggy is better.
Scraggy is an amazing counter to klang as it has all the tools to beat it as it can knock off its eviolite and the proceed to bulk up along klang's shift gears and iron defences. Scraggy will reach +6 atk and +6 def first as it only takes scraggy 6 turns whereas klang takes 9. Once their both as +6 scraggy does significantly more damage with drain punch than klangs gear grind and is also recovering heath whereas gear grind can miss. #geargrindsucks
I know my scraggy is spd and not def invested, im just using the best set so scraggy wont get revenged killed easily by spa attackers bar fairys ofc.
+6 0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. +6 248 HP / 8 Def Eviolite Scraggy: 80-96 (26.4 - 31.6%) -- approx. 4HKO
+6 0 Atk Scraggy Drain Punch vs. +6 248 HP / 8 Def Klang: 134-158 (41.4 - 48.9%) + (22.1 - 26% recovered) -- guaranteed 3HKO
calcs are identical when both at +0

Mudbray @ Eviolite
Ability: Stamina
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Roar
- Rest

Comfortably walls Klang even at +6 due to your own defense rising with each hit. Even if the Klang player clicks Idef you can just hit it a couple of times and then Roar it out to leave it damaged or asleep. Rest is for recovery and Toxic hits pretty much everything not weak to eq. Is a decent blanket physical wall in general and counters/checks other threats like Stonjourner, Grapploct and Machoke. This set is a Klang counter.

0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Mudbray: 54-66 (15.6 - 19.1%) -- approx. possible 6HKO
+1 0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Mudbray: 84-98 (24.4 - 28.4%) -- approx. 99.4% chance to 4HKO

0 Atk Mudbray Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Eviolite Klang: 150-176 (46.4 - 54.4%) -- 52% chance to 2HKO
0 Atk Mudbray Earthquake vs. +2 248 HP / 8 Def Eviolite Klang: 74-90 (22.9 - 27.8%) -- 60.7% chance to 4HKO

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest/Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
-Substitute/Energy Ball
- Calm Mind/Trick

Lampent its a nice offensive check as it keeps an inmediate offensive pressure on Klang stopping it to keep setting up and being a menace. Choiced variants can trick it to get their eviolite while locking it into one move to crippled them. Also Scarf variants still outspeeds klang at +2.
I guess you can go Flame Body to get a nice 40smth% to burn Klang when gear grind and force it to rest but Infiltrator its overall its best ability for other matchups.
Offensive:
252 SpA Lampent Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Klang: 156-186 (48.2 - 57.5%) -- 89.5% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Lampent Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Klang: 170-204 (52.6 - 63.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs (or +1) Lampent Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Klang: 254-302 (78.6 - 93.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Defensive:

Hakamo-o @ Eviolite
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature

Hakamo-o is a nice check to Klang bc he can faze it with Dragon Tail but this set lose if Klang is the last member of the opposite team, bc Klang can win the 1v1 bc Drain Punch doenst do to much dmg.
A good alternative can be using Taunt or Bulk Up over RestTalk but i like the recovery...
0 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Hakamo-o: 48-56 (15.2 - 17.8%) -- approx. possible 6HKO
0 Atk Hakamo-o Drain Punch vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Eviolite Klang: 90-108 (27.8 - 33.4%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO

Dusclops @ Eviolite
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Haze
- Rest
- Sleep Talk/toxic/spite
- Seismic Toss

Haze dusclops (physically defensive) is a hard counter to klang for stall teams. It can wall and PPstall klang.
Haze removes boosts from opponents and has an amazing 48PP (and thanks to pressure, it can potentially deplete 96 opponent PP)

This is the damage klang does after a haze:
4 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Dusclops: 38-48 (13.3 - 16.9%) -- approx. possible 6HKO

Klang can do 3 +1 hits if it goes shift gear on a predicted rest and dusclops doesn't get haze from sleep talk. That still isn't enough to threaten phisically defensive dusclops (it can give trouble to SPD variants).
+1 4 Atk Klang Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Dusclops: 54-66 (19 - 23.2%) -- approx. possible 5HKO
dusclops will still have plenty of health (even with a couple crits), and it can use haze when it wakes up without being forced to rest.

3rd slot isn't important in klang matchup, spite can be used on the most hardcore stall builds to make PPstall faster and reduce dusclops' own PP usage. Sleep talk prevents dusclops to be a complete fodder for 2 turns, and toxic can spread status if klang switches out.

Seismic toss should 3HKO (rare) offensive variants, and can force klang to sleep with no boosts.

maybe it's just worth a nom for C-/C. I faced it and I think it's not a complete dead weigth in most team matchups, even against teams without klang. It loses in speed compared to other electrics but has good firepower and resistances/immunities.
Totally agreed but the context here is different. Currently its a fact that for now magnemite is UR and is definitely not going to be ranked atleast before 23rd September and so we need to follow the rules accordingly.
