Nature: Bold
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpDef
- Wish/Softboiled
- Protect/Heal Bell/Stealth Rock
- Toxic/Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss

I prefer a max physically bulky spread to better tank physical hits as you can already tank most special hits. Standard moves.

Just toxic or seismic toss

Chansey Seismic Toss vs. 0 HP Mega Sceptile: 100-100 (35.5 - 35.5%)
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 147-174 (20.8 - 24.7%)

252 SpA Mega Sceptile Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 180-214 (25.5 - 30.3%)

Decided to throw focus blast in there as its common.

Even at + 1 +1 252 SpA Mega Sceptile Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 272-320 (38.6 - 45.4%) you can tank hits easily

Chansey is the premier special wall and can wall any special attacker sceptile included.

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock

While normally being slower by mega sceptile, scarf latios changes that and is able to outspeed mega sceptile and fire off a draco, which will always result in a KO. lati also switches in on predictable leaf storms / giga drains, but remains a check in fear of d pulse

252 SpA Latios Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mega Sceptile: 486-572 (172.9 - 203.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Tangrowth as a Counter

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Leaf Storm / Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power Ice

Equipped with an Assault Vest, Tangrowth becomes a great mixed tank and easily takes anything from M-Sceptile while it 2HKOes back with HP Ice (OHKO with a max roll and a 81.25% chance to OHKO after SR). Moreover, Tangrowth can stay healthy by simply switching out due to its ability Regenerator. Finally, if Tangrowth switches into a Leaf Storm, M-Sceptile's moves will become piss weak against our favorite pile of noodles.
0 Atk Mega Sceptile Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tangrowth: 32-38 (7.9 - 9.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 83-98 (20.5 - 24.2%) -- 77.4% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 102-122 (25.2 - 30.1%) -- 4.2% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Dragon Pulse vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 109-129 (26.9 - 31.9%) -- 54.3% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock

Jirachi @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Protect

Jirachi, thanks to its good typing, is able to resist Sceptile s' dual Stabs. Even if the opponent predicts well and goes for Earthquake in the switch into Jirachi, EQ is just a 3HKO.

Against Jirachi :
0 Atk Mega Sceptile Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Jirachi: 156-184 (38.6 - 45.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Jirachi: 102-122 (25.2 - 30.1%) -- 0.2% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aerial Ace
- Roost
- Aqua Tail
- Stone Edge

Thanks to its fantastic speed tier and access to tough claws boosted aerial ace, M-Aerodactyle acts as a fantastic check to AoA M-Sceptile. If Stealth rocks aren't up, M-Aero can come in on any of M-Scept's moves and easily out speed and OHKO back with aerial ace. However, if stealth rocks are up, Aero dies 100% of the time to leaf storm, however it lives all other attacks guaranteed even with rocks up, which makes it a fantastic check.

Calcs
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Dragon Pulse vs. 40 HP / 0 SpD Mega Aerodactyl: 157-186 (50.4 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

- Who cares, really.

Gardevoir can switch in on Dragon Pulse and HP Fire, as well as Focus Blast, Giga Drain, and Substitute for those Sceptiles that run it. Leaf Storm + Earthquake is a 2HKO though. Obviously Hyper Voice will 1HKO back.

The speed EVs creep max speed base 80-81 pokemon like Mamoswine, Altaria, and Gyarados. Maxing out your speed doesn't really beat anything else, only tie a few other base 100 pokemon that also run max speed but no boosting nature.
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. 48 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gardevoir: 178-210 (61.5 - 72.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Pixilate-boosted Return is a strong STAB move to spam, even when uninvested. In the last slot, EQ can be used to complement the Fairy STAB, Heal Bell to heal off status and Substitute to prevent Revenge killing.

It wouldn't be the first time the same mon with a different set was submitted (I think a while back there was a submission for regular Alomomola and Rocky Helmet Alomomola). I don't think it's really a problem.

Oh well... Alright then, if you say so. I thought that it would be a problem if they countered/checked the victim in a similar way, but it looks like I'm wrong.

Reserving Gliscor

Check

472.gif

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 192 SpD / 72 Spe
Careful Nature
- Taunt / Protect
- Roost
- Facade
- Earthquake / Swords Dance

Gliscor's natural bulk and amazing ability in Poison Heal allows it to suck up all of M-Sceptile's hits while recovering enough health to stall it out and threaten with a Facade, boosted or not. When manually switching in without already having triggered Poison Heal, the best move is to Roost up on the first turn. This will allow you to regain health taken from whatever move Sceptile chooses, triggers the Orb, and can possibly leave the Sceptile at a -2 special attack drop. If Toxic Orb is already activated, you can choose to Facade or begin setting up a Swords Dance. The Poison Heal will allow Gliscor to take two Leaf Storm or Dragon Pulse hits, after which it Roosts up and proceeds to manhandle Scep.

Earthquake is an option because you are obviously going to be considering handling Mega Sceptile's teammates, which often include Heatran, Jirachi, and Dragalge.

Protect is included in case your opponent decides to Dragon Pulse before hitting Leaf Storm. Protect allows you two turns to regain health with Poison Heal, preventing it from KOing.

252 SpA Mega Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. 244 HP / 192+ SpD Gliscor: 211-250 (59.9 - 71%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Poison Heal

-2 252 SpA Mega Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. 244 HP / 192+ SpD Gliscor: 106-126 (30.1 - 35.7%) -- 4.1% chance to 4HKO after Poison Heal

-2 252 SpA Mega Sceptile Dragon Pulse vs. 244 HP / 192+ SpD Gliscor: 69-82 (19.6 - 23.2%) -- possible 9HKO after Poison Heal

Simple enough, Scarfchomp outspeeds, and either Dragon STAB OHKOes. Fire Blast can bop Sceptile if it doesn't mega thinking it can avoid the SE Dragon hit. Can't switch in on Dragon Pulse, though, as it OHKOes back. It should also go without saying that you should avoid hitting Outrage if your opponent has any fairies in reserve.

Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 4 SpD / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant nature

Standard Mega Gross. Doesn't give a shit about the stabs. Earthquake can not 3hko AFTER ROCKS. HP fire has a very small chance of 2hko without rocks, and a decent chance of 2hko after rocks. Which is what makes it a check. That too obviously wont work if Scep has already used leaf storm. Mega Gross on the other hand, Ohkos with both its stab after rocks (MM is a clean Ohko). Even without rocks MM has a 75% chance to Ohko, while Zen has a small chance to do the same. And then there's ice punch.

Calcs:

Ability: Swarm ---> Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off / Drill Run

If given a free switch, Beedrill can safely MegaEvolve with Protect (if it's not Mega yet) before outspeeding 100% of the time (due to the Speed IV lowering from having HP Fire) and easily OHKOing M-Sceptile with the STAB move of choice. If it directly switches into M-Sceptile, Killer Bee is surprisingly able to withstand any of M-Sceptile's moves, especially Leaf Storm (but after SR though, Dragon Pulse has a 31.25% chance to OHKO). In return, it can MegaEvolve safely with Protect (again, if it's not Mega yet), outspeed and OHKO M-Scepitle with the STAB move of choice.

Weavile as a Check

weavile-female.gif

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Low Kick

Weavile can switch into anything from M-Sceptile bar Leaf Storm (it can still survive one hit from it without SR, but it's risky, and there's a high probability that Weavile will KO itself with LO recoil if it switches into a Dragon Pulse or even HP Fire) and OHKO back with Ice Shard. However, knowing that Weavile is pretty frail, it's advised for it to enter the field via a free switch to check M-Sceptile as best as it possibly can.
0 Atk Mega Sceptile Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Weavile: 110-130 (39.1 - 46.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Weavile: 162-192 (57.6 - 68.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Dragon Pulse vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Weavile: 172-204 (61.2 - 72.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Weavile: 262-310 (93.2 - 110.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock (don't switch into that!)

252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Sceptile: 406-484 (144.4 - 172.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Fun fact: If, for whatever reasons, Weavile has a Focus Sash and Swords Dance instead of a Life Orb and Low Kick respectively, it still OHKOes M-Sceptile with Ice Shard prior to any boost(s) and will survive any hit, including a Leaf Storm, if SR aren't up.

Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 SpA / 224 Spe

Pretty straightforward: Kyurem-B takes any hit from M-Sceptile bar Dragon Pulse before outspeeding and OHKOing it with its STAB move of choice. Of course, it's preferable to bring Kyurem-B on a free switch-in, but if needed, it won't take that much from M-Sceptile (except for D-Pulse). Just be careful using Fusion Bolt if M-Sceptile is around as a boosted M-Sceptile can be pretty dangerous.

this bulky set allows crobat to more effectively check sceptile throughout the entire match thanks to recovery form in roost.
The only way crobat can be beaten is if it switches-in on a dragon pulse while rocks are up, otherwise dragon pulse alone fails to 2HKO
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Dragon Pulse vs. 248 HP / 72 SpD Crobat: 166-196 (44.5 - 52.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery
while crobat flat out KOs with brave bird
0 Atk Crobat Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Sceptile: 302-356 (107.4 - 126.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
And every other combination of moves doesn't manage to 2HKO crobat
252 SpA Mega Sceptile Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 72 SpD Crobat: 79-93 (21.1 - 24.9%) -- possible 5HKO after Black Sludge recovery
which added to dragon pulse damage and rocks damage only makes 101%, not enough to KO since you have to consider one turn of black sludge recovery.
This makes crobat a great answer to mega sceptile.

Ferrothorn: Counter
598.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Protect / Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

Ferrothorn not only resists both of Kingdra's STAB attacks, but can slowly wear it down with Iron Barbs damage if it attempts to attack from the physical side. Ferrothorn also has Leech Seed, meaning that, in combination of Life Orb, wears Kingdra down extremely fast. The best Kingdra can hope for is a very measly chance to 3HKO with Hydro Pump, while Ferrothorn can wear it down steadily with Leech Seed and Life Orb recoil. If Ferrothorn switches into a Draco Meteor, then Kingdra's attacks would either do pitiful damage, or it would have to rely on physical attacks. After Stealth Rock damage or Life Orb recoil, Kingdra is 2HKOed by Ferrothorn's Power Whip.

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn in Rain: 118-140 (33.5 - 39.7%) -- 23.4% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 94-109 (26.7 - 30.9%) -- 8.3% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

64 Atk Life Orb Kingdra Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn in Rain: 58-70 (16.4 - 19.8%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kingdra: 127-151 (43.6 - 51.8%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Name: DDD Mega Altaria
Status: Check (if normal) / Counter (if Mega'd)
240px-334Altaria-Mega.png

Altaria @ Altarianite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 96 SpD / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Return
- Earthquake / Heal Bell / Substitute

If Mega Altaria is already Mega Evolved, the standard DDD set can come in on Rain-Boosted Hydro Pump with a reasonable chance to survive 2 consecutive hits:
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 96 SpD Mega Altaria in Rain: 136-160 (38.5 - 45.3%) -- 12.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

From there, Mega Altaria can continue to spam Roost until either Hydro Pump misses or Rain runs out, and then it can either set up or straight-up kill it with Return. If a 12.5% KO chance makes you uncomfortable you can always opt to move 12 Def EVs into SpD, which reduces it to a 5.9% chance, or move 32 Def Evs into SpD, which reduces it to a 1.2% chance, though it should be noted that moving that many can affect what you check on the physical side.

Of course, while it makes a strong counter when Mega evolved, when it's in its standard form, its typing and Stealth Rock weakness makes it unable to manually switch in on anything other than Waterfall, which it would rarely use.

Reerving duck lord Porygon2

Name: Porygon2
Status: Hard Check / Soft Counter
porygon2.gif

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 248 HP / 204 Def / 56 SpD
Calm Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Recover
- Toxic

Porygon2's insane bulk with Eviolite (374 / 439 / 360), it makes a fantastic hard check or soft counter to Mixed Kingdra. LO Draco Meteor does 53% max & at -2 does 25% max, so Kingdra cannot break Porygon2 without crits. The physical attacks do minimal damage as well thanks to bulk. Meanwhile Porygon2 can wear down Kingdra with Toxic & BoltBeam while Recovering off any damage.

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 136-161 (36.4 - 43.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 161-191 (43.1 - 51.2%) -- 98% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

0 SpA Porygon2 Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Kingdra: 79-93 (27.1 - 31.9%) -- 60.1% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
