Victini

Aw well, we still have Fire Blast, right?

Is it just me, or is it a little weird that Victini's signature move is incompatible with its own ability?

Just speculating, but Victini might get a new form in the imminent Pokemon Gray cause of V-generate. there's no way why an exlusive move would be taught by a move tutor only to 1 pokemon.

Bulbapedia confirms Victory Star being only a 10% boost. Unacceptable.

Victini looks to be a prime target for boost passing, since it doesn't get anything to work with besides Charge Beam. I mean, if it had CM, I'd be all over this thing, but as it is, he's just a generic sweeper.

Just for the record, when making a Trick Room team to use for rotation battles (over WiFi in 6 months) I found out that a Quiet Victini with a Life Orb using V-generate will OHKO a Psychically Defensive Skarmory! It also does more damage than Psychic against a Psychically Defensive Hipowdon! I hope you have a Flash Fire Pokemon >:D

why does everyone say V-Generate won't be awesome? In the sun, a move like THAT will wreck stuff up! The downside is bad, but it's not the worst, and it can actually benefit you on a Trick Room team. Infernape with CC wasn't an invitation for priority to OHKO, why will this move be?

I agree! Lowered Speed cries for a Rotation Battle Trick Room Team. Also My calculations were without sun, so imagine the power with Cheer Up and Sun.

Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Rotom-W@Leftovers (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 65.9 ~ 77.6% (180 ~ 212 HP) (Sunshine)

Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Skarmory@Leftovers (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 66 ~ 77.8% (200 ~ 236 HP) (Rain) Only under rain can you take it.

Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Nattorei@Leftovers (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 130.8 ~ 154.5% (420 ~ 496 HP) (Rain) Obviously dead.

Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Lugia@Leftovers (Multi-Scale) (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 40.5 ~ 47.5% (156 ~ 183 HP) (Sunshine)
After SR, however:
Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Lugia@Leftovers (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 81 ~ 95.3% (312 ~ 367 HP) (Sunshine)
95% chance to OHKO after SR, factoring in miss chance.

Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Kyogre (4/0 EVs, Neutral Nature): 30.5 ~ 36% (95 ~ 112 HP) (Rain) Unsurprisingly can take the hit.

Don't feel like doing anymore, so I leave you with:
Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Paras@Leftovers (4/0 EVs, Neutral Nature): 2333.7 ~ 2746.9% (4224 ~ 4972 HP) (Sunshine)

*EDIT* Two more:

Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Wobbuffet@Leftovers (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 94.9-111.7% (525-618 HP) (Sunshine) 65% chance to OHKO without SR.

Bikutini@Life Orb (252 EVs, +Nature) V-Generate vs Porygon2@Evolution Stone (252/252 EVs, +Nature): 79-93% (271-319 HP) (Sunshine)

Pretty sure that V-Generate will come with event Victini. Lets not forget its event only, guys. Therefore, since not released, it is not legal on smogon (yet). Is it legal on PO?

No, but for some reason it's legal on Smeargle. As are whatever Kyurem's 2 moves are called.

Victini had the possibility to be great, but Victory Star's weak acc boost is really dissapointing.

His move pool looks good enough that it can be a good offensive threat, probably not up to mixmence standards though. Victory star cuts the miss rate of fire blast in half at least. I would still be inclined to do a willow o wisp set.

Anyone thought about pairing him with Scarf Shanderaa in doubles? You could use Blaze Judgement/Flame Bomb to hit both opponents, have a 30% to burn either of them, and then give Shandy a Flash fire boost.

In doubles (and Triples) NEVER use a Choice Item without Trick or Switcheroo... EVER!!!

Well, the only reason I suggested a scarf was so it'd be fast, but if you can get around the speed issues (Shandy isn't all that quick), then by all means use something else.

LOL @ paras.....
Anyways...(*looks at the last two...*) , Ouch.

ANYWAYs, I'm sure we will find a legit way of teaching V-generate to him then we'll be seeing scarfed fire moves that deal 240 base physical attacks (Fire explosion anyone?)
As for the forme change, i kinda highly doubt it, sure "gray" may come out (in like 4-5 years time) so it's waaaaay too earlier to speculate that and fill your head with something that is practically non-existent at the current time.

Here's a lead set that I used to some success

Victini@Leftovers
Nature: Naive
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spe / 4 SpA
- Death Gambit
- Overheat
- Will-o-wisp
- U-turn

By being in the lead position, it is less affected by Stealth Rock. Max HP is given for Death Gambit, Overheat is to deal major damage, will-o-wisp is to cripple switch-ins, and u-turn is for getting the hell out, especially since that annoying shandera walls this entire set...

With legal do you mean it can pass the hack check on WiFi, because since no pokemon can actually learn the attack for now it can't be legal on Smeargle.

V-Generate is legal on Smeargle because, even though no Pokemon can currently learn it, it can be called by Metronome, and Smeargle can Sketch moves called by Metronome.

oh thats intresting didn't knew that before.
