Victreebel Skeleton (open)

Overview
########
Victreebel is a Pokemon that sun teams appreciate; with its ability Chlorophyll raising its Speed and its good offensive stats, it's a great sweeper. Victreebel's high Attack and Special Attack means that make it has versatility versatile. It resists five different types, which means it has grants it many opportunities to switch in and either set up either sun or stat boosts in both its offensive stats due to its access to with Growth. Victreebel is resistant to common priority moves, such as Aqua Jet; this, however, doesn't make up for Victreebel's frailness, not to mention it's its poor Speed outside of sun.

Sun Special Sweeper
########
name: Sun Special Sweeper
move 1: Solar Beam
move 2: Weather Ball
move 3: Sludge Bomb / Sunny Day
move 4: Sleep Powder / Growth
ability: Chlorophyll
item: Life Orb
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========
Solar Beam is a hard-hitting STAB move and Victreebel's main spamming attack; only use it when Sunny Day is up, as it avoids wasting a turn to charge this bypasses its charging turn. Weather Ball, combined with the sun, is used to hit Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon respectively, which resist Victreebel's STAB moves. Sludge Bomb is a reliable Poison-type attack with a 30% chance to poison the opponent; it allows Victreebel to hit Fire-type Pokemon neutrally and Fairy-type Pokemon, such as Slurpuff, harder super effectively. Sunny Day is an option instead of Sludge Bomb, (AC) as it benefits the rest of Victreebel's moves and gives it the Chlorophyll boost. However, there should be a sun setter on the team whether or not Victreebel has is running Sunny Day as one of its moves. Sleep Powder is used for putting Pokemon to sleep and for Victreebel to proceed with firing off hard hits, switching out, or getting up sun. Growth is another option, (AC) as it allows Victreebel to boost its Special Attack and Attack; combining it with Sunny Day causes the stat it to boost Victreebel's stats to rise by two stages each time it is used rather than one. Giga Drain can be used, (AC) as it doesn't rely on sun and still hits Water-type Pokemon hard enough, (AC) while getting some recovery back.

Set Details
========
Life Orb allows Victreebel to deal out as much power damage as possible without getting locked into one move; it's not built on taking hits, (AC) so Victreebel wants to 2HKO or OHKO Pokemon as quickly as possible. The Maximum Special Attack investment is also used to deal the highest amount of damage possible. The 252 EVs in Speed is are used to ensure that it Victreebel will outspeed most Pokemon with the combination of Chlorophyll and when Sunny Day being is up, due to Chlorophyll. A Timid nature can be used at the cost of some power; however, if you opt for Sleep Powder and Sunny Day, it helps Victreebel and the team by aiding its use of Sleep Powder + Sunny Day allowing it to outspeed neutral-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon outside of sun, such as Adamant Kabutops and Modest Mesperit Mesprit, and proceed to put them to sleep and set up the sun. (had some awkward phrasing and word order so I had to shuffle a little, please make sure that I didn't butcher the content)

Usage Tips
========
Sun support is mandatory with this set; without it, Victreebel needs to waste a turn charging Solar Beam, and its Speed becomes unreliable in sweeping a liability. With the sun, Weather Ball not only becomes a Fire-type move that can be used for hitting Steel-type Pokemon super effectively and Poison-type Pokemon neutrally, but it also gets a boost in Base Power to 150; without sun, it stays a Normal-type move and has a base power of 50. Victreebel can clean up Pokemon that are low on health nearing the end of the battle; it's a fast sweeper when in sun and is able to deal out powerful hits with its STAB Sludge Bomb and Solar Beam. Victreebel needs to utilize the sun turns well, (AC) as it only has 5-8 turns to use its attacks. (period) Even if it Sunny Day is used on Victreebel's set, you want another teammate to get up the sun.

Team Options
========
Sun setters, such as Liepard, Exeggutor, and Regirock, are appreciated, (AC) as Victreebel trying to can't reliably set up Sunny Day alone by itself is unreliable due to how frail it is. Liepard has priority on Sunny Day due to its Prankster ability, and Exeggutor and Regirock can take hits much better than Victreebel. Entry hazard setters, such as Crustle, make great teammates, as they help wear down Pokemon that switch switch-ins to the point where Victreebel can hit once or twice and avoid OHKO or 2HKO them without taking an attack. Pokemon that resist Victreebel's weaknesses or can take them well, such as Assault Vest Hariyama for Fire-type attacks, are a great help; this sort of help is extra appreciated due to Victreebel's frailness. Victreebel also works pairs well with other teammates that benefit from the sun, such as Typhlosion for the boost to Fire-type attacks, Sawsbuck for the Speed boost from Chlorophyll, and Exeggutor with its abilities Chlorophyll and Harvest.

Mixed Attacker
########
name: Mixed Attacker
move 1: Growth / Sleep Powder
move 2: Power Whip
move 3: Double-Edge
move 4: Sludge Bomb
ability: Chlorophyll
item: Life Orb
evs: 192 Atk / 64 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Naughty

Moves
========
Growth allows Victreebel to boost both its Attack and Special Attack; due to this set being a mixed set, it is even more effective. Sleep Powder is another option for putting Pokemon to sleep and then dishing out hard hits, (comma) both physical and special. Power Whip, although risky with its 85% accuracy and lacking low (less ambiguous) PP, is Victreebel's most powerful Grass-type STAB move. Double-Edge (add hyphen) allows Victreebel to completely cleanly 2HKO Dragalge after Stealth Rock damage, a Pokemon that resists walls the Special Sweeper set specially based sets, after Stealth Rock damage; (no cross-set referencing & try not to split up chunks of information; Dragalge isn't 2HKOed, it's 2HKOed after SR, so you shouldn't be putting new information in the middle of this statement) after using Growth, Victreebel can completely cleanly OHKO Dragalge. Sludge Bomb is for hitting Grass- and Fire-type Pokemon respectively with its and has a 30% chance to poison.

Set Details
========
Life Orb is used so that Victreebel is doing a maximum amount of damage without being locked into one move. The 252 Speed EVs are used so that it can outspeed most Pokemon in the tier in sun with the Sunny Day and Chlorophyll Speed boost. The Attack EVs are just enough to ensure that Dragalge, after being damaged by Stealth Rock, can definitely be is always (I assumed this was what you meant) 2HKOed by a Life Orb-boosted Double-Edge (add hyphen). The remainder of the EVs are put into Special Attack to allow Victreebel to hit hard from both sides of offense both physically and specially.

Usage Tips
========
Victreebel really appreciates sun support with this set, (AC) as it allows Growth to boost its Attack and Special Attack two stages rather than one every time it is used. This set can be used for a late-game sweep if the Sunny Day support is provided, (AC) as it this allows Victreebel to gain the Speed needed; it needs a Growth boost, though. Victreebel doesn't want to reveal Double-Edge (add hyphen) or Power Whip too early in the game if there is a Dragalge on the opposing team; play around the opponent and catch them off guard without revealing the mixed set until it is essential. Victreebel is also a great wallbreaker after setting up a Growth.

Team Options
========
Victreebel appreciates bulky Pokemon that resist Victreebel's its weaknesses or take them well, such as Steelix, Hariyama, and Lickilicky. Entry hazard support is appreciated from Pokemon such as Ferroseed and Crustle to make sure that Pokemon switching in are at a low enough health to be OHKOed or 2HKOed by Victreebel's attacks. Sunny Day users, such as Regirock, Uxie, and Probopass, help your team, as you don't rely on Victreebel for Sunny Day. Other Pokemon that benefit from Sunny Day are also good teammates, such as Typhlosion and Pyroar. Victreebel wants a free switch, so a slow U-turn and Sunny Day user, such as Voltbeat Volbeat, is appreciated too.

Other Options
########
Hidden Power Fire is more reliable than Weather Ball, as it allows Victreebel to hit Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon respectively without when sun isn't up. Encore is can be used for locking Pokemon into one move so that Victreebel can either get a free turn to get a boost or set up sun the next turn. Sucker Punch is a priority attack that hits hard with its 80 Base Power. Swords Dance is can be used over Growth for boosting the Attack stat by two stages instead of using Growth if sun proves to be unreliable on the mixed set. Knock Off hits hard and removes the item of the opposing Pokemon. Leaf Blade has 100% accuracy, making it much more reliable than Power Whip, (AC) and still has 90 Base Power; it also has a high critical-hit ratio.

Checks & Counters
########

**Flying-types**: Flying-types, such as Archeops and Vivillon, can't switch in on Victreebel but can easily check it with their STAB Flying-type attacks when the sun isn't up, forcing it to either switch out or get OHKOed due to its poor defensive stats. Double switches can force Victreebel into this situation against Archeops at full HP, which even Timid Victreebel can't outspeed, leaving it to take an Acrobatics or switch out; (SC) a play that the opponent can predict this and go for U-turn.

**Poison-types**: Poison-type Pokemon, such as Garbodor, can take both of Victreebel's STAB moves and retaliate wear Victreebel down with moves of their own to the point where Victreebel it will get OHKOed or 2HKOed. Dragalge, unlike other Poison-types, can also wall resists Weather Ball due to its Dragon typing, (AC) completely walling the special sun sweeper's attacks.

**Specially Defensive Behemoths**: Specially defensive Pokemon, (AC) such as Lickilicky, Hariyama, and Audino, can take a hit or two and retaliate with their own attacks by 3HKOing or 2HKOing Victreebel due to how frail it is. Lickilicky can come in on the turn Victreebel sets up Sunny Day or Growth, live a hit, and proceed to use Dragon Tail to force Victreebel out or Body Slam with the chance of Victreebel getting paralyzed.

**Liepard**: Liepard can check Victreebel with Prankster Encore by locking it in as it sets up Sunny Day or Growth; it can also go for priority Rain Dance while Victreebel has its sun up already. Liepard comes in on the turn that Victreebel is using Sunny Day, and Victreebel either gets locked into Encore or switches; (SC) a situation that the opponent can predict this and go for Thunder Wave on the incoming Pokemon or use U-turn to gain momentum.

**Kangaskhan**: Kangaskhan can waste sun turns with Fake Out due to it having priority and flinching Victreebel; it by makes making Victreebel unable to attack that one turn; (SC) and Kangaskhan can also take one hit from Life Orb Solar Beam and hit back with Return. If Victreebel is already weakened because of its poor defenses, it Kangaskhan can hit finish it off with Sucker Punch instead to finish it to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
