[OVERVIEW]
Volcarona is the only Bug / Fire type Pokemon in 1v1, which helps it deal with the abundance of Psychic-, Fairy-, and Steel-types in the metagame like Mew, Mega Slowbro, Tapu Lele, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Metagross. Its good Special Attack and Speed along with Quiver Dance give it the potential to outspeed most other Pokemon after one boost, such as non-Hidden Power Rock Naganadel. With Substitute, Volcarona can bring its HP under one third and unleash a devastating Swarm-boosted Savage Spin-Out. This move can overwhelm the majority of Pokemon that do not resist it, letting Volcarona deal with most Pokemon that are slower than it. Unfortunately, Volcarona's Bug / Fire typing is poorly equipped to fight extremely prevalent Flying- and Water-types like Dragonite, Greninja, Tapu Fini, and especially Rock-types and Rock-type move users like Crustle and Donphan. Despite excellent offensive stats, Volcarona has subpar defensive stats, and heavy investment is required to take even some neutral hits, such as Fake Out followed by Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny and Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.

Moves
========
Bug Buzz is Volcarona's primary attacking move, which, when boosted by Buginium Z and Swarm, deals with Pokemon like Mew and Mega Tyranitar. It also goes through Substitute, which allows Volcarona to take on Pokemon like Whimsicott and Jumpluff. Overheat lets Volcarona blast away Steel-types like Aegislash, Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, and Magearna. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offensive stats and lets it outspeed and OHKO Pokemon like Mega Metagross and Haxorus after just one boost. It also means that Volcarona is able to set up alongside Pokemon like Magearna. Substitute gives Volcarona more opportunities to set up by giving it a safety net against status and powerful Z-Moves from Pokemon like Tapu Lele. It also helps bring Volcarona's HP low enough for it to utilize Swarm-boosted moves.

Set Details
========
252 Speed investment with a Timid nature lets Volcarona Speed tie with opposing base 100 Speed Pokemon like Mega Medicham and offensive Mega Charizard X, as well as outspeed Tapu Lele, Meloetta, and non-Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. The 192 HP EVs combined with 52 EVs allow Volcarona to tank Zen Headbutt followed by Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross, as well as tank Draco Meteor from non-Hidden Power Rock Choice Specs Naganadel and Shattered Psyche from Tapu Lele after a Quiver Dance. 12 Special Attack EVs guarantee an OHKO with Savage Spin-Out against Normalium Z Porygon-Z. Swarm alongside Buginium Z and Substitute to use an incredibly powerful nuke in Savage Spin-Out at low health, along with any accumulated Quiver Dance boosts.

Usage Tips
========
Against special attackers like Aegislash, Mega Altaria, and Tapu Lele, use Quiver Dance so that Volcarona can survive their Z-Moves if they use them. If Tapu Lele uses Calm Mind, continue using Substitute until either Volcarona is in Swarm range or they do not attack. As long as Volcarona has the same number of boosts as Tapu Lele, it should OHKO it with a Swarm-boosted Savage Spin-Out. Naturally, some Pokemon, such as Normalium Z Porygon-Z, should immediately be attacked with Savage Spin-Out, as Volcarona can simply OHKO them without risk. Against stall Pokemon like Porygon2, it is better to use Substitute first to ensure that Volcarona is unaffected by a potential Toxic or other status conditions. Against Type: Null, Volcarona's best play is to wait for them to use Confide at least twice before using Z-Quiver Dance to reset its stats and outboost them with more PP. The chance of a Special Defense drop from Bug Buzz can almost help immensely in these situations, but it should not be relied upon. Against Pokemon Volcarona outspeeds but cannot OHKO, like Mega Tyranitar and Mega Venusaur, use Substitute until it has less than 33% HP. If at any point before this they do not attack or break Volcarona's Substitute, use Quiver Dance to further boost Volcarona's Special Attack and keep up the pressure; when Volcarona is under 33%, use Savage Spin-Out. Against non-Extreme Speed Zygarde, use Quiver Dance first to boost Volcarona's offenses. Volcarona will be able to OHKO it with a Swarm-boosted Savage Spin-Out at +1, so use Substitute if needed to get into Swarm range. Otherwise, if they are running Extreme Speed, Volcarona has to Substitute on Tectonic Rage and then use Quiver Dance followed by Savage Spin-Out. If the foe uses Taunt, gauge whether using Z-Quiver Dance or if just attacking is the optimal option. If Volcarona already outspeeds the foe, it is generally more worth it to just attack. For example, against Deoxys-S, it would be better to Z-Quiver Dance, but against Mega Tyranitar, you would rather just attack. Magnezone is a tricky matchup, as it is a coinflip as to whether or not they will use Metal Sound or Electroweb. With this information, attacking and using Quiver Dance are your best options, as Electroweb will break Volcarona's Substitute anyway.

Team Options
========
As Volcarona is weak to Rock-type moves and threatened by other Fire- and Rock-types, Steel- and Ground-types are a perfect match. Mega Aggron and Donphan serve as good partners, dealing with Pokemon like Mega Charizard X and Y, Archeops, and Greninja, while Volcarona does away with Pokemon like Meloetta, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Venusaur that they typically struggle against. Volcarona's glaring Water-type weakness is easily covered by Kartana and Ferrothorn, which handle Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Gyarados with ease. In return, Volcarona takes care of Pokemon like Genesect and Deoxys-S. Being weak to Fire-types also means that Water-types are a good partner for Volcarona, as they will cover different threats. Primarina in particular helps by beating pesky physical attackers like Golem and Crustle as well as Fire-types like Mega Charizard X and Darmanitan. It also checks Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Meanwhile, Volcarona crushes any Grass-types that may threaten Primarina, such as Tapu Bulu and Mega Venusaur.

Moves
========
Roost lets Volcarona recover HP so that it can take multiple hits from foes like Primarina. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offense and defense simultaneously, helping tremendously against foes like Mega Charizard Y and Porygon-Z. Bug Buzz is capable of dealing with many foes when boosted by Swarm and Buginium Z. Substitute allows Volcarona avoid taking fatal damage from potential Z-Moves like Oceanic Operetta from Primarina and brings Volcarona closer to Swarm range. Alternatively, Overheat hits Steel-types that resist Bug Buzz, like Aegislash and Mega Mawile. Will-O-Wisp is another option to lower the foe's Attack and deal chip damage, which is potentially helpful against physical attackers like Donphan. This is best run with Substitute to force a mind game.

Set Details
========

The 240 HP and 32 Defense EV investment lets Volcarona survive a Zen Headbutt followed by Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross. The 20 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed Timid Magnezone. The rest of the EVs are put into Special Defense to almost always ensure Volcarona's matchup against Modest Magnezone and grant it enough bulk to tank hits like Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z and Sparkling Aria from Primarina.

Usage Tips
========
Send Volcarona in on specially offensive threats like Mega Charizard Y, Mew, Meloetta, and Porygon-Z. Against Mega Charizard Y, it may be necessary to set up Quiver Dance multiple times while using Roost when necessary to avoid taking fatal damage. If Porygon-Z does not immediately use Z-Conversion, use Savage Spin-Out after a single Quiver Dance. Otherwise, Quiver Dance twice before using Savage Spin-Out. With Substitute, Volcarona has a chance at beating Primarina. Usually it is safe to use Substitute to absorb the damage from Oceanic Operetta, and then Volcarona can Quiver Dance and Roost off any damage taken. Substitute can also be continuously used to safely bring Volcarona to Swarm range; this is useful against Zygarde, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Venusaur. Immediately use Bug Buzz against opposing Magnezone to break their Sturdy and get them in range of Overheat. With Overheat, Volcarona can take on Steel-types like Aegislash, Celesteela, and Mega Mawile; against Mega Mawile, immediately OHKO it, but set up Quiver Dance first against the others. Against Donphan and Aggron, use Substitute to scout for Head Smash. If they don't use it, Will-O-Wisp is the next best play if you're running it. If they do use Head Smash, their Sturdy will be broken from taking recoil, and Volcarona will be able to OHKO them with a Swarm-boosted Savage Spin-Out.

Team Options
========
As Volcarona is capable of taking on most specially offensive threats, partners that can take on physical threats, namely Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, and Dragonite, are appreciated. Flyinium Z Landorus-T and Mega Altaria are able to handle these aptly and are weak to specially oriented wallbreakers like Aegislash, Celesteela, Mega Charizard Y, and Porygon-Z, all of which are Pokemon that Volcarona can beat. Volcarona works well with Pokemon that can beat Rock- and Water-types like Archeops and Greninja, so Grass-types like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn are cordial companions. In return, Volcarona is adept at beating Pokemon like Mew, Mega Charizard Y, Kommo-o, and Zygarde.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Volcarona has a number of viable EV spread options. One is to completely forgo any HP investment and instead opt for a full-on offensive spread with maximum Special Attack and Speed to hit harder against Pokemon like Registeel and specially defensive Mega Heracross. A more physically defensive set with Will-O-Wisp over Substitute can be utilized to take on physical attackers like Donphan and Mega Medicham more reliably. Choice Specs is a possible item choice for Volcarona to boost coverage moves like Giga Drain and Hidden Power Ice, as well as its other STAB move Overheat, nabbing easier KOs on Pokemon like Mega Swampert, Landorus-T, and Mega Heracross. Hidden Power Electric can be used to allow Volcarona to lure in and take out Gyarados before it Mega Evolves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Super Effective STAB Moves**: There are a plethora of Water-, Rock,- and Flying-types roaming the tier, such as Mega Gyarados, Archeops, Aggron, Golem, Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Landorus-T. Many Pokemon like Sawk and Choice Scarf Darmanitan also commonly carry Rock-type coverage, which is a huge threat to Volcarona.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Pokemon like Donphan and Mega Charizard X can take anything Volcarona throws at them while hitting it very hard with their STAB moves.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Mega Lopunny, Greninja, Zeraora, and Mega Gengar all aptly deal with Volcarona due to their ability to outspeed and take it out.

  • Volcarona is the only Fire-, Bug-type Pokemon in 1v1, which helps it deal with the abundance of Psychic-, Fairy-, and Steel-types in the meta like Mew, Mega Slowbro, Tapu Lele, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Metagross.
  • Volcarona struggles to differentiate itself from Mega Charizard Y, which is a special attacking Fire-type with the same Speed and arguably hits harder with Sun-boosted moves, however Volcarona carves its niche with an incredible boosting move in Quiver Dance, and its Swarm ability coupled with its Bug-typing. this is strange. Mega Char y doesn't rlly have the same traits as volc, outside of fire stab, one is hyper offense recharge, the other is sub setup offense. I don't think they're comparable. Maybe instead mention that against slower hyperoffensive foes that could you can sub into a swarm boost even if you couldn't set up or ohko initially, like against kommo-o
  • It has good Special Attack and Speed, which along with Quiver Dance, gives it the potential to outspeed most other Pokemon after one boost, such as Naganadel.
  • With Substitute, Volcarona can manipulate its HP to under one third, allowing it to unleash a devastating Swarm boosted Savage Spinout. as i said above mention the fact that this makes volc a semi-speed trap
  • Unfortunately, Fire- and Bug-typing is weak to common Water- and Rock-types like Primarina, Tapu Fini, Crustle, and Archeops.
  • Despite strong offensive stats, Volcarona has subpar defensive stats, and heavy investment is required to take even some neutral hits, such as Fake Out into Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny, or Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, investment which is cannot afford to run.

  • Bug Buzz is Volcarona's primary attacking move, which, when boosted by Buginium, it deals with Pokemon like Mew and Mega Tyranitar. It goes through Substitutes, which allows to take on Pokemon like Whimsicott and Jumpluff.
  • Overheat lets Volcarona blast away Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, Registeel, and Magearna.
  • Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offensive stats, and lets it outspeed and OHKO Pokemon like Mega Metagross and Haxorus after just one Quiver Dance. It also means that Volcarona is able to set up alongside Pokemon like Registeel sooooo as far as we can tell, you don't beat a smartly played registeel. Check qc chat for more details and Magearna.
  • Substitute gives Volcarona more opportunities to set up, by giving Volcarona a safety net to protect it from being affected by status, or powerful Z-moves from Pokemon like Tapu Lele. It also brings Volcarona's HP low enough for it to utilise Swarm-boosted moves.

Set Details
========
  • Maximum HP investment with 40 Defense EVs 176 HP with 80 Defense EVs allow Volcarona to tank an Outrage from Adamant Choice Scarf Haxorus as well as a Draco Meteor from Naganadel. It can also take a Shattered Psyche from Tapu Lele after a Quiver Dance. not relevant
  • 216 252 Speed investment with a Timid nature lets Volcarona speed tie with base 100s like Mega Medicham and offensive Mega Charizard X, as well as outspeed Tapu Lele, Meloetta, and non Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.
  • Swarm boosts Volcarona's Bug-type moves when below 33% HP, which is very useful when used with Substitute to use an incredibly powerful nuke in Savage Spin-Out, along with any accumulated Quiver Dance boosts.

Usage Tips
========
  • If Volcarona can OHKO the foe, use the respective STAB move to finish the job. This is the case of Mega Slowbro, Meloetta, Ferrothorn, and Genesect. obvious
  • Most of the time however, Volcarona will want to either use Quiver Dance or Substitute first. redundant w/ next lines
  • Against special attackers like Porygon-Z and Tapu Lele you would sub against this , use Quiver Dance so that Volcarona can survive their Z-Moves if they use it. If Porygon-Z uses Z-Conversion, use Quiver Dance and then Substitute until in Swarm range, before using Savage Spin-Out. If Tapu Lele uses Calm Mind, continue using Substitute until either Volcarona is in Swarm range, or they do not attack. As long as Volcarona is on the same number of boosts as Tapu Lele, Volcarona should OHKO with a Swarm-boosted Savage Spin-Out. nani? you just said to quiver dance, now its sub then quiver?
  • Against stall Pokemon like Registeel you don't beat regi/it doesn't run toxic and Porygon2, i would recommend against subbing, bc you win if you spam quiver until you're in swarm range, then z moving. its pretty crazy +3 0 SpA Swarm Volcarona Savage Spin-Out (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 88 SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 579-682 (154.8 - 182.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO it is better to Substitute first to ensure that Volcarona is unaffected by Toxic or other status conditions.
  • For Confide users like Type: Null, do not waste Quiver Dance PP. Reserve this for when they have expended their Confide, so that you can use Z-Quiver Dance to reset your stats, and outboost them. wont they just attack you then? you can't recover and sub only delays
  • Against Pokemon Volcarona outspeeds but cannot OHKO, like Zygarde they live 50% of the time from 0 spa, Mega Tyranitar, Kommo-o, and Mega Venusaur, use Substitute, until you have less than 33% HP. If at any point before this they do not attack you, simply use Quiver Dance to further boost your Special Attack and keep up the pressure. When Volcarona is under 33%, its Bug-type moves become boosted, so it is at this point that you use Savage Spin-Out.
  • If the foe uses Taunt, gauge whether using Z-Quiver Dance is better, or if just attacking is the optimal option. If Volcarona already outspeeds, it is generally more worth it to just attack. For example, against Deoxys-S it would be better to Z-Quiver Dance, but against Mega Tyranitar, you would rather just attack.
  • Magnezone is a tricky matchup, as it is a 50/50 as to whether or not they will Metal Sound or Electroweb. With this information, attacking or using Quiver Dance are your best options, as there is no point using Substitute as Electroweb will break the Substitute.

Team Options

  • As Volcarona is 4x weak to Rock-, Fire-, and hyperoffensive moves, Sturdy Steel- and Ground-type Pokemon are a perfect match. This lets it speedtie with other base 100 Pokemon such as Mega Gardevoir, already done and lets it hit harder against Pokemon like Mega Heracross and Registeel.
  • Another variant is a maximum Special Defense set with Roost over Overheat. This allows it to beat Pokemon like typical Volcarona checks like Primarina spdef is a 50/50 with prima, it either z moves on quiver or sparkling on sub and non-Taunt Tapu Fini.
  • Choice Specs is a possible item choice for Volcarona to boost coverage moves like Psychic and Hidden Power Ice, as well as its STAB Overheat, nabbing easier KOs on Pokemon like Kommo-o, Zygarde, you beat these pretty consistently and Landorus-T. Even Hidden Power Electric can be used to lure and 50/50 Mega Gyarados.
  • A more physically defensive set with Will-O-Wisp can be utilised to take on physical attackers like Donphan really? how is it tanking a head smash reliably, that seems insane, and Mega Medicham.
  • Psychic is another option over Substitute to better deal with Kommo-o, but outside of this Substitute is much more useful and reliable. then why is this here?

Checks and Counters

The leftover 80 EVs are put into Defense to help against non-Rock Slide Choice Scarf Haxorus - although that isn't the most common threat around, it is the best usage of EVs

  • If Porygon-Z does not immediately use Z-Conversion, use Savage Spin-Out after a single Quiver Dance. Otherwise, Quiver Dance twice before usin Savage Spin-Out.
  • With Substitute, Volcarona has a chance at beating Primarina. Usually it is safe to use Substitute to absorb the damage from Oceanic Operetta, and then Volcarona can Quiver Dance and Roost off any damage taken.
  • Substitute can also be continuously used to safely bring Volcarona to Swarm range. This is useful against Zygarde, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Venusaur.
  • mention to immediately bug buzz magnezone, to break sturdy and get it in range of Overheat.
  • With Overheat, Volcarona can take on Steel-types like Aegislash, Celesteela, and Mega Mawile. Use Overheat to immediately OHKO Mega Mawile, but Quiver Dance first against the others.
  • Against Donphan and Aggron, use Substitute to scout for Head Smash. If they don't use it, Will-O-Wisp is the next best play if running it. If they do use Head Smash, then their Sturdy will be broken from taking recoil and Volcarona will be able to OHKO them with a Swarm-boosted Z-Bug Buzz.

Team Options
========
  • As Volcarona is capable of taking on most specially offensive threats, partners that can take on physical threats, namely Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, and Dragonite. Flyinium Z Landorus-T and Mega Altaria are able to handle these aptly, and are weak to specially oriented wallbreakers like Aegislash, Celesteela, Mega Charizard Y, and Porygon-Z, all of which are Pokemon that Volcarona can beat.
  • Volcarona works well with Pokemon that can beat Rock- and Water-type Pokemon like Archeops and Greninja, so Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn are cordial companions. In return, Volcarona is adept at beating Pokemon like Mew, Mega Charizard Y, Kommo-o, and Zygarde.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Volcarona has a number of viable EV spread options. One is to completely forgo any HP investment and instead opt for a full on offensive spread, with maximum Special Attack and Speed. This lets it hit harder against Pokemon like Registeel and defensive Mega Heracross.
  • A more physically defensive set with Will-O-Wisp over Substitute can be utilised to take on physical attackers like Donphan, and Mega Medicham more reliably
  • Choice Specs is a possible item choice for Volcarona to boost coverage moves like Giga Drain and Hidden Power Ice, as well as its other STAB move Overheat, nabbing easier KOs on Pokemon like Mega Swampert, Landorus-T, and Mega Heracross. Hidden Power Electric can be used to lure Gyarados before Mega Evolving, and Psychic is a niche option for dealing with defensive Kommo-o.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Super Effective STAB Moves**: Sadly there are a plethora of Water-, Rock,- and Flying-type Pokemon roaming the tier, such as Mega Gyarados, Primarina, would remove this, since thats a claim of fame from set 2 Archeops, Aggron, Golem, Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Landorus-T. Many Pokemon like Sawk and Choice Scarf Darmanitan also commonly carry Rock-type coverage, which is a huge threat to Volcarona.

**Strong physical attackers**: Pokemon like Donphan and Mega Charizard X can take anything Volcarona throws at them, while hitting very hard with their STAB moves.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Mega Lopunny, Greninja, Zeraora, and Mega Gengar all aptly deal with Volcarona, due to being able to outspeed and neutralise it.

  • It has good Special Attack and Speed, which along with Quiver Dance, gives it the potential to outspeed most other Pokemon after one boost, such as Naganadel.
  • With Substitute, Volcarona can manipulate its HP to under one third, allowing it to unleash a devastating Swarm boosted Savage Spin-Out. This move can overwhelm the majority of Pokemon that do not resist it, letting Volcarona function as a sort of speed trap that can deal with most Pokemon that are slower than it.
  • Unfortunately, Fire- and Bug-typing is weak to common Water- and Rock-types like Tapu Fini, Crustle, and Archeops. make this moreso into a point about how Fire and Water types (with examples) dominate a big chunk of the metagame and how that's bad for volcarona
  • Despite strong offensive stats, Volcarona has subpar defensive stats, and heavy investment is required to take even some neutral hits, such as Fake Out into Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny, or Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.

Moves
========
  • Bug Buzz is Volcarona's primary attacking move, which when boosted by Buginium Z, deals with Pokemon like Mew and Mega Tyranitar. It goes through Substitutes, which allows to take on Pokemon like Whimsicott and Jumpluff.
  • Overheat lets Volcarona blast away Steel-type Pokemon like Aegislash, Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, and Magearna.
  • Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offensive stats, and lets it outspeed and OHKO Pokemon like Mega Metagross and Haxorus after just one Quiver Dance. It also means that Volcarona is able to set up alongside Pokemon like Magearna.

Set Details
========
  • 252 Speed investment with a Timid nature lets it speed tie with base 100 Speed Pokemon like Mega Medicham and offensive Mega Charizard X, as well as outspeed Tapu Lele, Meloetta, and non Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.
  • 176 HP investment lets Volcarona tank a Draco Meteor from non-Hidden Power Rock Choice Specs Naganadel, and a Shattered Psyche from Tapu Lele after a Quiver Dance.
  • The leftover 80 EVs are put into Defense to help against non-Rock Slide Choice Scarf Haxorus - although this isn't the most common threat to Volcarona, it is the best use of the EVs. you could also say it helps in withstanding zen + bp from metagross
  • Swarm alongside Buginium Z boosts Volcarona's Bug-type moves when below 33% HP, which is very useful when used with Substitute to use an incredibly powerful nuke in Savage Spin-Out, along with any accumulated Quiver Dance boosts.

Usage Tips
========
  • name some cases where you'd want to go straight for a z-move right off the bat
  • Against special attackers like Normalium Z Porygon-Z and Tapu Lele, use Quiver Dance so that Volcarona can survive their Z-Moves if they use it.
  • Against stall Pokemon like Porygon2, it is better to Substitute first to ensure that Volcarona is unaffected by a potential Toxic or other status conditions.
  • Against Confide users like Type: Null, Volcarona's best play is to wait for them to use at least 2 Confides, before using Z-Quiver Dance to reset your stats and outboost them with more PP. The 10% Special Defense drop from Bug Buzz can almost help immensely in these situations, but should not be relied upon.
  • Against Pokemon Volcarona outspeeds but cannot OHKO, like Mega Tyranitar and Mega Venusaur, use Substitute, until you have less than 33% HP. If at any point before this they do not attack or break Volcarona's Substitute, use Quiver Dance to further boost your Special Attack and keep up the pressure. When Volcarona is under 33%, its Bug-type moves become boosted, so it is at this point that you use Savage Spin-Out.
  • Against non-Extreme Speed Zygarde, use Quiver Dance first to boost your offenses. Volcarona will be able to OHKO with a Swarm boosted Savage Spin-Out at +1, so use Substitute if needed to get into Swarm range. Otherwise, if they are running Extreme Speed, Volcarona has to Substitute on Tectonic Rage, and then use Quiver Dance into Savage Spin-Out.

========
  • As Volcarona is weak to Rock-type moves, and other Fire-types, Rock-moves, Steel- and Ground-type Pokemon are a perfect match. Mega Aggron and Donphan serve as good partners, dealing with Pokemon like Mega Charizard X and Y, Archeops, and Greninja, while Volcarona does away with Pokemon like Meloetta, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Venusaur, that they typically struggle against.
  • Volcarona's glaring Water-type weakness is easily covered by Kartana and Ferrothorn, who handle Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Gyarados with ease. On the other hand, Volcarona takes care of Pokemon like Genesect, and Deoxys-S.
  • Being weak to Fire-types also means that Water-types are a good partner for Volcarona, as they will cover different threats. Primarina in particular helps by beating pesky physical attackers like Golem and Crustle, as well as Fire-types like Mega Charizard X and Darmanitan. It also checks Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Meanwhile, Volcarona crushes any Grass-types that may threaten Primarina, such as Tapu Bulu and Mega Venusaur.

Moves

Bug Buzz is Volcarona's primary attacking move, which when boosted by Buginium Z and Swarm, deals with Pokemon like Mew and Mega Tyranitar. It goes through Substitutes, which allows to take on Pokemon like Whimsicott and Jumpluff. Overheat lets Volcarona blast away Steel-type Pokemon like Aegislash, Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, bugnium is better because of no miss chance and Magearna. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offensive stats, and lets it outspeed and OHKO Pokemon like Mega Metagross and Haxorus after just one Quiver Dance. It also means that Volcarona is able to set up alongside Pokemon like Magearna. Substitute gives Volcarona more opportunities to set up, by giving Volcarona a safety net to protect it from being affected by status, or powerful Z-moves from Pokemon like Tapu Lele. It also brings Volcarona's HP low enough for it to utilise Swarm-boosted moves.

Set Details
========
252 Speed investment with a Timid nature lets it speed tie with base 100 Speed Pokemon like Mega Medicham and offensive Mega Charizard X, as well as outspeed Tapu Lele, Meloetta, and non Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. The 192 HP combined with 52 EVs allows Volcarona tank Zen Headbutt into Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross, as well as tank a Draco Meteor from non-Hidden Power Rock Choice Specs Naganadel, and a Shattered Psyche from Tapu Lele after a Quiver Dance. The 12 Spa is used to guarantee an OHKO with Savage-Spin Out against Normalium-Z Porygon-Z. Swarm alongside Buginium Z boosts Volcarona's Bug-type moves when below 33% HP, which is very useful when used with Substitute to use an incredibly powerful nuke in Savage Spin-Out, along with any accumulated Quiver Dance boosts.

Usage Tips
========
Against special attackers like Aegislash, Mega Altaria, and Tapu Lele, use Quiver Dance so that Volcarona can survive their Z-Moves if they use it. Naturally, some Pokemon, such as Normalium Z Porygon-Z, should immediately be attacked with Savage Spin-Out, as Volcarona can simply OHKO then without risk. Against stall Pokemon like Porygon2, it is better to Substitute first to ensure that Volcarona is unaffected by a potential Toxic or other status conditions. Against Confide users like Type: Null doesn't this only apply to null?, Volcarona's best play is to wait for them to use at least 2 Confides, before using Z-Quiver Dance to reset your stats and outboost them with more PP. The 10% Special Defense drop from Bug Buzz can almost help immensely in these situations, but should not be relied upon. Against Pokemon Volcarona outspeeds but cannot OHKO, like Mega Tyranitar and Mega Venusaur, use Substitute, until you have less than 33% HP. If at any point before this they do not attack or break Volcarona's Substitute, use Quiver Dance to further boost your Special Attack and keep up the pressure. When Volcarona is under 33%, its Bug-type moves become boosted, so it is at this point that you use Savage Spin-Out. Against non-Extreme Speed Zygarde, use Quiver Dance first to boost your offenses. If the foe uses Taunt, gauge whether using Z-Quiver Dance is better, or if just attacking is the optimal option. If Volcarona already outspeeds, it is generally more worth it to just attack. For example, against Deoxys-S it would be better to Z-Quiver Dance, but against Mega Tyranitar, you would rather just attack. Magnezone is a tricky matchup, as it is a 50/50 as to whether or not they will Metal Sound or Electroweb. With this information, attacking or using Quiver Dance are your best options, as there is no point using Substitute as Electroweb will break the Substitute.

Team Options
========

As Volcarona is weak to Rock-type moves, and other Fire-types, Rock-moves, Steel- and Ground-type Pokemon are a perfect match. Volcarona's glaring Water-type weakness is easily covered by Kartana and Ferrothorn, who handle Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Gyarados with ease. On the other hand, Volcarona takes care of Pokemon like Genesect, and Deoxys-S. Being weak to Fire-types also means that Water-types are a good partner for Volcarona, as they will cover different threats.

Roost lets Volcarona recover HP so that it can take multiple hits from opponents like Primarina. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offense and defense simultaneously, helping tremendously against opponents like Mega Charizard Y and Porygon-Z. Bug Buzz is a powerful STAB move that is capable of dealing with many foes with the combination of Swarm and Buginium Z. Substitute allows Volcarona avoid taking fatal damage from potential Z-moves like Oceanic Operetta from Primarina, and brings Volcarona closer to Swarm range. Overheat hits Steel-types that resist Bug Buzz, like Aegislash and Mega Mawile. Will-O-Wisp is another option to lower the foes' attack and deal chip damage, which is potentially helpful against physical attackers like Donphan. This is best run with Substitute to force a 50/50.

Set Details
========

The 240 HP and 32 Def EV investment lets Volcarona survive a Zen Headbutt followed by Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross. The 20 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed Timid Magnezone. The rest of the EVs are put into Special Defense to almost always ensure Volcarona's matchup against Modest Magnezone, and has enough bulk to tank hits like Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, and Sparkling Aria from Primarina.

Usage Tips
========
Send Volcarona in on specially offensive threats like Mega Charizard Y, Mew, Meloetta, and Porygon-Z. Against Mega Charizard Y, it may be necessary to Quiver Dance multiple times, and Roost when necessary to avoid taking fatal damage. Substitute can also be continuously used to safely bring Volcarona to Swarm range. This is useful against Zygarde, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Venusaur. Immediately use Bug Buzz against opposing Magnezone, to break their Sturdy and get them in range of Overheat. With Overheat, Volcarona can take on Steel-types like Aegislash, Celesteela, and Mega Mawile. Use Overheat to immediately OHKO Mega Mawile, but Quiver Dance first against the others. Against Donphan and Aggron, use Substitute to scout for Head Smash. If they don't use it, Will-O-Wisp is the next best play if running it. If they do use Head Smash, then their Sturdy will be broken from taking recoil and Volcarona will be able to OHKO them with a Swarm-boosted Z-Bug Buzz.

Team Options
========
As Volcarona is capable of taking on most specially offensive threats, partners that can take on physical threats, namely Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, and Dragonite. Flyinium Z Landorus-T and Mega Altaria are able to handle these aptly, and are weak to specially oriented wallbreakers like Aegislash, Celesteela, Mega Charizard Y, and Porygon-Z, all of which are Pokemon that Volcarona can beat. Volcarona works well with Pokemon that can beat Rock- and Water-type Pokemon like Archeops and Greninja, so Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn are cordial companions. In return, Volcarona is adept at beating Pokemon like Mew, Mega Charizard Y, Kommo-o, and Zygarde.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Volcarona has a number of viable EV spread options. One is to completely forgo any HP investment and instead opt for a full on offensive spread, with maximum Special Attack and Speed. This lets it hit harder against Pokemon like Registeel and specially defensive Mega Heracross. A more physically defensive set with Will-O-Wisp over Substitute can be utilised to take on physical attackers like Donphan, and Mega Medicham more reliably. Hidden Power Electric can be used to lure Gyarados before Mega Evolving.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Super Effective STAB Moves**: Sadly there are a plethora of Water-, Rock,- and Flying-type Pokemon roaming the tier, such as Mega Gyarados, Taunt Tapu Fini, i wouldnt mention this since it moreso relies on taunt instead of its actual stabsArcheops, Aggron, Golem, Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Landorus-T.

Volcarona is the only Fire-, Bug-type Pokemon in 1v1, which helps it deal with the abundance of Psychic-, Fairy-, and Steel-types in the meta like Mew, Mega Slowbro, Tapu Lele, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Metagross. It has good Special Attack and Speed, which along with Quiver Dance, gives it the potential to outspeed most other Pokemon after one boost, such as Naganadel loses to hp rock on offensive, tanks bugnium on defensive. With Substitute, Volcarona can manipulate its HP to under one third, allowing it to unleash a devastating Swarm boosted Savage Spin-Out. This move can overwhelm the majority of Pokemon that do not resist it, letting Volcarona function as a sort of speed trap that can deal with most Pokemon that are slower than it. Unfortunately, Fire- and Bug-typing is poorly equipped to fight common Flying-, Water- and Rock-types like Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, flying moves arent really needed to win most mus Greninja, Dragonite, Tapu Fini, Crustle, and Donphan. This is especially troublesome, as most of these Pokemon are extremely prevalent and pervasive metagame threats. Despite strong offensive stats, Volcarona has subpar defensive stats, and heavy investment is required to take even some neutral hits, such as Fake Out into Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny, or Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.

It also checks, (AC) and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Meanwhile, Volcarona crushes any Grass-types that may threaten Primarina, (RC) such as Tapu Bulu and Mega Venusaur.

Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offense and defense simultaneously, helping tremendously against opponentfoes like Mega Charizard Y and Porygon-Z. Bug Buzz is a powerful STAB move that is capable of dealings with many foes with the combination of Swarm and Buginium Z. Substitute allows Volcarona to avoid taking fatal damage from potential Z-mMoves like Oceanic Operetta from Primarina, (RC) and brings Volcaronait closer to Swarm range. Overheat hits Steel-types that resist Bug Buzz, (RC) like Aegislash and Mega Mawile. Will-O-Wisp is another option to lower the foes' a's Attack and deal chip damage, which isare potentially helpful against physical attackers like Donphan. This is best run with Substitute to force a 50/50coinflip situation.

The 240 HP and 32 Defense EV investment lets Volcarona survive a Zen Headbutt followed by Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross. The 20 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed Timid Magnezone. The rest of the EVs are put into Special Defense to almost always ensure Volcarona's matchup against Modest Magnezone, (RC) and has enough bulk to tank hits like Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, (RC) and Sparkling Aria from Primarina.

Usage Tips
========
Send Volcarona in on specially offensive threats like Mega Charizard Y, Mew, Meloetta, and Porygon-Z. Against Mega Charizard Y, it may be necessary to Quiver Dance multiple times, (RC) and Roost when necessary to avoid taking fatal damage. If Porygon-Z does not immediately use Normalium Z-boosted Conversion, use Savage Spin-Out after a single Quiver Dance. Otherwise, use Quiver Dance twice before using Savage Spin-Out. With Substitute, Volcarona has a chance at beating Primarina. U; (SC) it is usually it is safe to use Substitute to absorb the damage from Oceanic Operetta, and then Volcarona can Quiver Dance and Roost off any other (to dissociate with OceOpe) damage taken. Substitute can also be continuously used to safely bring Volcarona to Swarm range. T; (SC) this is useful against Zygarde, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Venusaur. Immediately use Bug Buzz against opposing Magnezone, (RC) to break their Sturdy and get them in range of Overheat. With Overheat, Volcarona can take on Steel-types like Aegislash, Celesteela, and Mega Mawile. U; (SC) use Overheait to immediately OHKO Mega Mawile, but use Quiver Dance first against the others. Against Donphan and Aggron, use Substitute to scout for Head Smash. If they don't use it, Will-O-Wisp is the next best play if Volcarona is running it. If they do use Head Smash, then their Sturdy will be broken from taking recoil and Volcarona will be able to OHKO them with a Swarm-boosted Z-Bug BuzzSavage Spin-Out.

Team Options

As Volcarona is capable of taking on most specially offensive threats, partners that can take on physical threats, namely Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, and Dragonite (you forgot to complete this sentence I'll leave this whole sentence untouched). In particular, Flyinium Z Landorus-T and Mega Altaria are able to handle these aptly, (RC) and are weak to specially oriented wallbreakers like Aegislash, Celesteela, Mega Charizard Y, and Porygon-Z, all of which are Pokemon that Volcarona can beat. VolcaronaIt works well with Pokemon that can beat Rock- and Water-type Pokemon like Archeops and Greninja, so Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn are cordial companions. In return, Volcarona is adept at beating Pokemon like Mew, Mega Charizard Y, Kommo-oO, and Zygarde.

Other Options
=============
Volcarona has a number of viable EV spread options. One is to completely forgo any HP EV investment and instead opt for a full -on (AH) offensive spread, (RC) with maximum Special Attack and Speed. Thinstead to lets it hit harder against Pokemon like Registeel and specially defensive Mega Heracross. A more physically defensive set with Will-O-Wisp over Substitute can be utiliszed to take on physical attackers like Donphan, (RC) and Mega Medicham more reliably. Choice Specs is a possible item choice for Volcarona to boost coverage moves like Giga Drain and Hidden Power Ice, as well as its other STAB movend help Overheat, (RC) nabbing easier KOs on Pokemon like Mega Swampert, Landorus-T, and Mega Heracross. Hidden Power Electric can be used to help Volcarona lure Gyarados before Mega Evolving.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Super Effective STAB Moves**: Sadly, (AC) there areis a plethora of Water-, Rock,-, (swap) and Flying-type Pokemon roaming the tier,1v1 (RC) such as Mega Gyarados, Archeops, Aggron, Golem, Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Landorus-T (go Water, Flying, Rock, and then cite Gyara, then Drag, MPins, Lando-T, then Arch, Agg, Golem for consistency). Many Pokemon like Sawk and Choice Scarf Darmanitan also commonly carry Rock-type coverage, which is a huge threat to Volcarona.

**Strong pPhysical aAttackers**: Pokemon like Donphan and Mega Charizard X can take anything Volcarona throws at them, (RC) while hitting very hard with their STAB moves (Donphan hits harder with Head Smash, which is not STAB, although it hits hard with EQ, too).

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Mega Lopunny, Greninja, Zeraora, and Mega Gengar all aptly deal with Volcarona, (RC) due to beingtheir ableility to outspeed and neutraliseze (I would rather have a more specific verb like OHKO, KO, or anything similar) it.

[OVERVIEW]
Volcarona is the only Fire-, Bug-type Bug / Fire type Pokemon in 1v1, which helps it deal with the abundance of Psychic-, Fairy-, and Steel-types in the metagame like Mew, Mega Slowbro, Tapu Lele, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Metagross. It has Its good Special Attack and Speed, which along with Quiver Dance (RC) gives give it the potential to outspeed most other Pokemon after one boost, such as non-Hidden Power Rock Naganadel. With Substitute, Volcarona can manipulate bring its HP to under one third, allowing it to and unleash a devastating Swarm-boosted (AH) Savage Spin-Out. This move can overwhelm the majority of Pokemon that do not resist it, letting Volcarona function as a sort of speed trap that can deal with most Pokemon that are slower than it. Unfortunately, Fire- and Bug-typing Volcarona's Bug / Fire typing is poorly equipped to fight common extremely prevalent Flying-, Water- and Rock-types like Dragonite, Greninja, Tapu Fini, Crustle, and Donphan. (Donphan isn't Rock, can you just change -types to -type move users?) This is especially troublesome, as most of these Pokemon are extremely prevalent and pervasive metagame threats. Despite strong excellent offensive stats, Volcarona has subpar defensive stats, and heavy investment is required to take even some neutral hits, such as Fake Out into followed by Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny (RC) or and Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.

Bug Buzz is Volcarona's primary attacking move, which, (AC) when boosted by Buginium Z and Swarm, deals with Pokemon like Mew and Mega Tyranitar. It also goes through Substitutes, which allows Volcarona to take on Pokemon like Whimsicott and Jumpluff. Overheat lets Volcarona blast away Steel-type Pokemon like Aegislash, Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, and Magearna. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offensive stats (RC) and lets it outspeed and OHKO Pokemon like Mega Metagross and Haxorus after just one Quiver Dance boost. It also means that Volcarona is able to set up alongside Pokemon like Magearna. Substitute gives Volcarona more opportunities to set up (RC) by giving Volcarona it a safety net to protect it from being affected by against status (RC) or powerful Z-Moves from Pokemon like Tapu Lele. It also brings Volcarona's HP low enough for it to utilise utilize Swarm-boosted moves.

Set Details
========
252 Speed investment with a Timid nature lets it Volcarona Speed tie with opposing base 100 Speed Pokemon like Mega Medicham and offensive Mega Charizard X, as well as outspeed Tapu Lele, Meloetta, and non-Choice (AH) Scarf Porygon-Z. The 192 HP combined with 52 EVs allows Volcarona to tank Zen Headbutt into followed by Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross, as well as tank a Draco Meteor from non-Hidden Power Rock Choice Specs Naganadel (RC) and a Shattered Psyche from Tapu Lele after a Quiver Dance. The 12 Special Attack EVs is used to guarantee an OHKO with Savage Spin-Out (move hyphen) against Normalium Z (RH) Porygon-Z. Swarm alongside Buginium Z and Substitute boosts allows Volcarona's Bug-type moves when below 33% HP, which is very useful when used with Substitute to use an incredibly powerful nuke in Savage Spin-Out at low health, along with any accumulated Quiver Dance boosts.

Usage Tips
========
Against special attackers like Aegislash, Mega Altaria, and Tapu Lele, use Quiver Dance so that Volcarona can survive their Z-Moves if they use it them. If Tapu Lele uses Calm Mind, continue using Substitute until either Volcarona is in Swarm range (RC) or they do not attack. As long as Volcarona is on has the same number of boosts as Tapu Lele, Volcarona it should OHKO it with a Swarm-boosted Savage Spin-Out. Naturally, some Pokemon, such as Normalium Z Porygon-Z, should immediately be attacked with Savage Spin-Out, as Volcarona can simply OHKO then them without risk. Against stall Pokemon like Porygon2, it is better to use Substitute first to ensure that Volcarona is unaffected by a potential Toxic or other status conditions. Against Type: Null, Volcarona's best play is to wait for them to use at least 2 Confide at least twice (RC) before using Z-Quiver Dance to reset your its stats and outboost them with more PP. The 10% Special Defense drop from Bug Buzz can almost help immensely in these situations, but it should not be relied upon. Against Pokemon Volcarona outspeeds but cannot OHKO, like Mega Tyranitar and Mega Venusaur, use Substitute (RC) until you have it has less than 33% HP. If at any point before this they do not attack or break Volcarona's Substitute, use Quiver Dance to further boost your Volcarona's Special Attack and keep up the pressure; (SC) when Volcarona is under 33%, its Bug-type moves become boosted, so it is at this point that you use Savage Spin-Out. Against non-Extreme Speed Zygarde, use Quiver Dance first to boost your Volcarona's offenses. Volcarona will be able to OHKO it with a Swarm-boosted (AH) Savage Spin-Out at +1, so use Substitute if needed to get into Swarm range. Otherwise, if they are running Extreme Speed, Volcarona has to Substitute on Tectonic Rage (RC) and then use Quiver Dance into followed by Savage Spin-Out. If the foe uses Taunt, gauge whether using Z-Quiver Dance is better, or if just attacking is the optimal option. If Volcarona already outspeeds the foe, it is generally more worth it to just attack. For example, against Deoxys-S, (AC) it would be better to Z-Quiver Dance, but against Mega Tyranitar, you would rather just attack. Magnezone is a tricky matchup, as it is a 50/50 coinflip as to whether or not they will use Metal Sound or Electroweb. With this information, attacking or and using Quiver Dance are your best options, as there is no point using Substitute as Electroweb will break the Volcarona's Substitute anyway.

As Volcarona is weak to Rock-type moves (RC) and other Fire-types, Rock-type move users (?) (RC) and Steel- and Ground-type Pokemon are a perfect match. Mega Aggron and Donphan serve as good partners, dealing with Pokemon like Mega Charizard X and Y, Archeops, and Greninja, while Volcarona does away with Pokemon like Meloetta, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Venusaur (RC) that they typically struggle against. Hidden Power Electric can be used to lure and take out Gyarados before Mega Evolving it Mega Evolves.

**Super Effective STAB Moves**: Sadly There (not written from the Volc user's perspective) are a plethora of Water-, Rock,- and Flying-type Pokemon roaming the tier, such as Mega Gyarados, Archeops, Aggron, Golem, Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Landorus-T. Many Pokemon like Sawk and Choice Scarf Darmanitan also commonly carry Rock-type coverage, which is a huge threat to Volcarona.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Pokemon like Donphan and Mega Charizard X can take anything Volcarona throws at them (RC) while hitting it very hard with their STAB moves.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Mega Lopunny, Greninja, Zeraora, and Mega Gengar all aptly deal with Volcarona (RC) due to being able their ability to outspeed and neutralise take it out.

Unfortunately, Volcarona's Bug / Fire typing is poorly equipped to fight extremely prevalent Flying- and Water-types like Dragonite, Greninja, Tapu Fini, and especially Rock-types Pokemon and Rock-type move users like Crustle and Donphan. Despite excellent offensive stats, Volcarona has subpar defensive stats, and heavy investment is required to take even some neutral hits, such as Fake Out followed by Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny and Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.

Moves
========
Bug Buzz is Volcarona's primary attacking move, which, when boosted by Buginium Z and Swarm, deals with Pokemon like Mew and Mega Tyranitar. It also goes through Substitutes, which allows Volcarona to take on Pokemon like Whimsicott and Jumpluff. Overheat lets Volcarona blast away Steel-types Pokemon like Aegislash, Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, and Magearna. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offensive stats and lets it outspeed and OHKO Pokemon like Mega Metagross and Haxorus after just one boost. It also means that Volcarona is able to set up alongside Pokemon like Magearna. Substitute gives Volcarona more opportunities to set up by giving it a safety net against status or and powerful Z-Moves from Pokemon like Tapu Lele. It also helps brings Volcarona's HP low enough for it to utilize Swarm-boosted moves.

Set Details
========
The 192 HP EVs combined with 52 EVs allows Volcarona to tank Zen Headbutt followed by Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross, as well as tank a Draco Meteor from non-Hidden Power Rock Choice Specs Naganadel and a Shattered Psyche from Tapu Lele after a Quiver Dance.

Usage Tips
========
The 10% chance of a Special Defense drop from Bug Buzz can almost help immensely in these situations, but it should not be relied upon.

========
As Volcarona is weak to Rock-type moves and threatened by other Fire- and Rock-types, Steel- and Ground-types Pokemon are a perfect match. In return, Volcarona takes care of Pokemon like Genesect, (RC) and Deoxys-S.

Moves

Roost lets Volcarona recover HP so that it can take multiple hits from foes like Primarina. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's offense and defense simultaneously, helping tremendously against opponents foes like Mega Charizard Y and Porygon-Z.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========
Immediately use Bug Buzz against opposing Magnezone, (RC) to break their Sturdy and get them in range of Overheat.

========
Volcarona works well with Pokemon that can beat Rock- and Water-types Pokemon like Archeops and Greninja, so Grass-types Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn are cordial companions. In return, Volcarona is adept at beating Pokemon like Mew, Mega Charizard Y, Kommo-o, and Zygarde.
