It's a Sableye... something about the species just rubs me the wrong way. Sometimes I'm just trying to get through a cave and one of those things comes crawling from out of nowhere. Their dark color makes it look almost like they're taking form from the shadows when they move. And those eyes... I'm getting goosebumps from just looking at that thing.

Anyways, back to the reffing. Mobius continues Chilling as usual, gaining some EN in the process. Meanwhile, Greed uses nearby shadows as cover to perform an unavoidable Feint Attack. Greed's next action is a lightning-fast Fake Out that disrupts Mobius' attempt to Chill a second time.

Then, Mobius does something unexpected: he chills so hard that he completely falls asleep! I get that he's a pretty laid-back Pokemon, but this is a bit extreme, isn't it? Perhaps it's for the best, though, since by Resting Mobius is finally able to shake off his Toxic Poison. He recovers a good amount of HP as well, but loses a lot of EN in the process. While Mobius sleeps soundly, Sableye performs a second Feint Attack. The hit is pretty solid and has perfect accuracy, but did the Sableye really have to spend all that time sneaking up on a sleeping Pokemon?

Even while it sleeps, Mobius is able to fight back by using completely random moves it knows. First, it hurls a massive wave of water, drenching the entire arena and knocking Greed off his feet. Greed seems surprised and doesn't react immediately, opting instead to Chill for some more energy. For its next attack, Mobius dives underwater. Diving definitely worked against The Laxative, but unfortunately for Mobius he resurfaces too early to avoid Sableye's next attack: Night Shade. Using dark energy, Sableye bypasses Mobius' defensive stats to deal unhindered direct damage! Finally, Wailmer wakes up and delivers one last Surf before fainting of exhaustion. Sableye, who seems unsure what to do now that his foe is finished, halfheartedly performs a Feint Attack on nobody in particular. Tension grows as both trainers prepare for their final matchup.

Woohoo! Giant rock snake! Some wussy Pokemon think they can call themselves Steel-types because they have some dumb claws or metal-based skeletal structures -- Ragnarok here is 882 pounds of nothing but PURE STEEL! That being said, though, I have to also point out his crazy underbite. How about getting that checked out, bud?

Ragnarok is heavy and has no legs, so Greed moves first. Quickly he conjures a pale blue Will-o-Wisp that I'm sure Ragnarok would Protect against if he knew how. Alas, he doesn't, so he loudly pounds the stadium floor with his tail instead. The resulting Earthquake deals impressive damage to his purple foe.

Clearly, Greed was expecting Ragnarok to Protect himself from the first Will-o-Wisp. He's already preparing a second one, and it's too late to change attacks. Sableye desperately shoots his ghost-flames, but to no avail; they sizzle and flicker out harmlessly when they reach Ragnarok's already-scorched skin. Greed's mistake gives Ragnarok ample time to curl into a dense Gyro Ball and flatten him like roadkill. Sableye spends his next action siphoning Moonlight to heal his wounds. He gains 25 HP, then eats another Earthquake.

This is the ASB arena; of course we have rocks. Naturally, staff here works hard to provide the necessary accommodations any Pokemon could require. Rocks are in the third cabinet to the left, between the flower petals and the giant heat lamp...

But seriously, the ASB Beginner's Guide says that the Standard ASB Arena provides all resources needed for moves. Even if it didn't, Steelix could easily dig some boulders up from the ground. Therefore, Rock Tomb is legal.

I'm not sure what happened earlier but it looks like things are back online here. Anyways, it looks like Snarguffle is yelling at Ragnarok to use Earthquake, but nothing's happening. It must be because Ragnarok is still sleeping. What a lazy Pokemon. That hiccup on Snarguffle's end gives Greed enough time to use Moonlight and recover a huge chunk of HP. Eventually, Ragnarok wakes up and fires another Rock Slide -- too slow! Greed Detects the attack and dashes out of the way, avoiding it entirely. In his haste to avoid the boulders, though, he ends up right in the path of Ragnarok's next attack: Earthquake. Greed takes the hit full-on. Although Ragnarok's attacks are strong, Greed still won't fight back. Instead he retreats, converting more Moonlight into valuable HP. In the end, Greed emerges from this round with far more HP than he began with; a rare occurrence for a Pokemon battle. Also, Greed seems to have gotten used to navigating the pile of boulders left over from last round's Rock Slide. Because of this, his Speed stat has returned to normal.

Greed flips off an underground rock snake for no apparent reason. Then, both combatants gain some HP. Also Ragnarok manages to Dig while asleep, which is pretty impressive. It's worth noting that Ragnarok's rocks seem a bit more rough than they were after he polished them last round, so his speed decreased a little bit.

Ragnarok continues to writhe in his sleep, inadvertantly sending a volley of Rocks crashing towards Greed. Of course, this is the second time in a row Ragnarok has used his Sleep Talk, and so he seems to be tiring himself out. Meanwhile, Greed Chills, giving Ragnarok enough time to wake up. At this point, Ragnarok is far too tired to attack any more, so he Chills to regain some much-needed EN. Suddenly, Greed begins Taunting him with rude gestures and vicious insults. That doesn't seem to go over too well with Ragnarok, who roars with disgust and pummels Greed with even more boulders. Greed can barely move with all these stones across the battlefield, so he just Chills instead.
Greed's Taunt may prove to be decisive; unable to Chill, Ragnarok has no way to recover his lost EN for a whole five actions.
