Warriors of the Sand OU RMT

This team has been pretty successful, but when i run into other weather teams i get ownd. I have posted this RMT to see what the community has to say about my team and I will try my best to listen to everyone's opinion.

At a Glance:

In Depth: All The Pokemon Are Named After Warriors players

Stephon Curry @ Life Orb
Jolly nature
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Stealth Rock
~ Ice Shard
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge

This is Stephon Curry because he is gonna be the Warriors PG next year (leader) and this is my lead...

Tyranitar is the lead here because of his ability, and thats pretty much it. He gives sandstorm to the whole team and gives 6% damage every turn. Counter is for Jirachi and other leads that use only physical moves and EQs from Aerodactyl. Fire punch and Crunch are for extra coverage.

Ronny Turiaf @ Expert Belt
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 116 Atk / 144 SpA / 248 Spe
Nature: Naive
Moves:
Dragon Dance
Crunch
Fire Blast
Ice Beam

Big BADASS thats Ronny Turiaf he will surprise you at any given time very underrated for his awsmness.

I wanted a pokemon that was imune to sandstorm, but also had different typing than just Rock or just Ground this was a nice fit. With Ice Shard stab it takes care of dumb Flygon and Salamence as well as Dragonite. I chose life orb over choice band in this set so that i could freely switch moves accordingly, but still get the same OHKOs

Monta Ellis @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
Moves:
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball
Overheat
Trick

A fan spins fast, Monta Ellis runs the floor fast, obvious fit stong fast and reliable

I put this in to counter grass and just a general sweeper, every team is allowd one exeption this is mine it counters grass types and infernapes. It also stops water types in there tracks. HP ice is for wen mamo is down and out and there are still dragons roaming

Stephen Jackson @ Choice Band
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 80 SpA / 176 Spe
Nature: Adamant
Moves:
Fire Punch
Earthquake
U-Turn
Outrage

Stephen Jackson aka Captn Jack Flygon reminds me of a pirate (idk y) so Jackson seemed to fit here

Choice Band Flygon Dragon Ground typing is my favorite. When Garchomp was banned i felt like there was nothing left to play for but there is still Flygon and he seems to fit in nicely here. I usually use U-Turn on opposing Tyranitars because they will expect EQ and switch out so i use U-Turn to hit the switch in and switch according to the pokemon. If TTar is still in UTurn still hits hard

Corey Maggette @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 Sp Atk
Nature: Relaxed
Moves:
Earthquake
Ice Beam / Avalanche
Surf
Protect

Corey Maggette the fairly new addition to the Warriors hes got bulk and he can stripe the Jumpers Swampert is a bulky water with the typing required to fit into a sandstorm team

Swampert was put in to fit the water type description has some more ice coverage to take care of flying and dragons which really piss me off EQ hits everything that doesnt resist it pretty well, Protect to scout attacks (mostly on MixApes) Surf for the water coverage while still being immune to sandstorm

Andris Beidrins @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Nature: Adamant
Moves:
Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
Brick Break
X-Scissor

Andris Beidrins is the most underrated player in the league (same with SD Scizor) The center for the Warriors scizor is the late gamer usually has time to set up on switches that expect a CB Scizor, and then hit HARD

Scizor has always been a favorite of mine, but i have never used an SD Scizor, and i wanted to try ity out. Guess what... I LOVE IT it works so much better than CB in my opinion the ability to switch moves and still hit hard is really helpful.

Problems:

Synergy
SD Lucario

How to fix:

Haha, GS fan nice I lol'd at Ronny Turiaf though. Well anyways looking at the team right now, its got a good synergy with Sandstorm play and working around residual damage. SD Scizor is great keep it, but I would like to make a quick swap though. Start by switching Swampert and Tyranitar's position. Make Swampert's moveset like this: Ice Beam / Earthquake / Stealth Rock / Roar. This would be a safer lead, as suppose to Tyranitar which can make a better role outside the lead position. Make sure to EV out Swampert's to 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpA to get the best out of phazing. With that being said, I have a suggestion for Tyranitar:

Tyranitar
@ Choice Band
Adamant Nature (Atk+ / SpA-)
176 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Spe

- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Tail

This would benefit the team more and Scizor especially. Tyranitar removes unwanted Rotom form, freeing up an easier sweep for Scizor. Other things it does is counter Zapdos exceptionally well and remove Blissey from the match. Every moveset is self explanitory but the EVs are mainly for maximizing attack and outpacing Skarmory. 176 HP allows you to cushion some special hits from other opponent.

How will you fix this Lucario weakness? I suggest changing Rotom to heat form, with Overheat to check Lucario where Thunderbolt fails to KO it. Overall good luck!

Props on basing your team off my hometown Warriors :)

In any case, there are a few things I'd like to fix:

From experience, I can tell you that the Tyranitar lead set really isn't very good. It's too slow to Taunt and stop fast leads from setting up SR, its Counter isn't very reliable (for instance, the Jirachi you cited has a 60% chance of causing T-Tar to flinch with Iron Head), and you would be better off using it later in the game to deal more damage. I suggest you move Mamoswine to the lead slot instead and save T-tar for later. This is the Lead Mamoswine set I suggest:

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Jolly nature
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Stealth Rock
~ Ice Shard
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge

This set helps you set up SR without sacrificing too much of Mamoswine's attacking power. Its EQ is so powerful that it OHKOs Tyranitar, Jirachi, and Shuca Heatran. It even OHKOs Metagross 54% of the time, and anything that doesn't die in one hit will quickly fall to Ice Shard.

With Mamo in the lead slot, I suggest changing Tyranitar to a pure offense set. Since you lack the sheer power of a wallbreaker, I suggest using a Mixed Tyranitar set.

Tyranitar @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Hasty/Naive nature
116 Atk / 144 SpA / 248 Spe

~ Dragon Dance / Stone Edge
~ Crunch / Stone Edge
~ Fire Blast
~ Ice Beam / Hidden Power Grass

This set is great against opponents who don't expect an extremely fast Tyranitar, and it really clears the way for a Scizor sweep. It relies on deception to be powerful. DD allows you to fake DDTar, and Expert Belt fakes Choice item. If you run a three attack set, use either Crunch/FB/Ice Beam or SE/FB/HP Grass. If you run four attacks, run Crunch/SE/FB/Ice Beam. I personally prefer DD, but either one works.

I would change Rotom to the Rotom-H form to get Overheat in place of Air Slash. You retain coverage on Grassers and gain it on Steel-types. This allows you to more comfortably deal with Lucario and Scizor, who could be possible threats.

MixApe with HP Ice seems like it could severely hurt your team. To counter this, I suggest changing Flygon to a Choice Scarf variant. It outspeeds non-Scarfed Ape and OHKOs with EQ. The moves and EVs you have now seem fine.

I would keep Ice Beam over Avalanche on Pert.

Scizor should run X-Scissor over QA. Although the double priority is nice, Scizor appreciates the sheer power of an STAB +2 base 80 attack.

GL with your team :)

I like the lineup of mons you've got here. solid team. however, I feel like there are a few small changes you can make to improve it further.

it's my assumption that you're trying to sweep with sdscizor here. I think it would be beneficial to you to switch swampert into the lead position and give him stealth rock. while you lose out on the early addition of sandstorm, you gain stealth rock from turn one, really crippling a lot of the things that want to beat scizor (zapdos, gyarados, the like). I'd like you to try a babiri berry ddtar in swampert's spot, for a few reasons. firstly, between cbflygon, ddtar, and scizor, you're walled kind of hard by steels, meaning they're going to be trying to come in on you a lot, and getting weakened so that one of your mons can sweep. additionally, when cbflygon hits some of the stuff in stall to weaken it, generally its in ddtar's kill range, and he can wreak absolute havoc, allowing scizor to clean up. zapdos also loves coming in on scizor and tyranitar loves coming on on zapdos. tyranitar lures in enemy scizors and kills them, allowing mamoswine and scizor to both have a much easier time. so basically tyranitar completes the incredibly hard-hitting offensive core of mamoswine, ddtar, cbflygon, and sdscizor, where each mon helps the other sweep (with the exception of cbflygon who will generally not sweep but helps immensely with the wallbreaking when fighting stall). with ddtar, even if someone dies he can continue and pick up the slack by setting up and using the free turn. in general, he just increases the damage output hugely.

as far as threats go, you seem to be covered pretty well, not letting anything set up, and even if somehow something does, you have scarfrotom in the wings to take it on, as well as the priority from mamoswine and scizor. this team is too offensive to be worrying about specific threats when you have lots of priority and a scarfer.

edit: you already have a strong wallbreaker in flygon, and infernape can't come in anywhere other than on swampert, to whom rotom can come in and revenge kill. you don't need the steel coverage since all your mons wear down steels fairly easily. in addition, you really need qa to keep infernape from trying to come in, and since all your mons are really hard-hitting, the extra stab isn't really needed. in addition, keeping gyarados at bay is a huge bonus, especially when not much can switch directly into waterfall. mamoswine should also not be used in the lead spot, since he's needed to be hitting hard mid-lategame, as well as doing shit after enemy scizors are dead.

Idk if it's a typo but your Flygon has 80 Special attack evs and no special attacks.

true, lets hope its just a typo, anyway i would change the t-tar lead for a little effective bulk t-tar that i made myself:

Tyransword (Tyranitar) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/40 Atk/200 Def/18 SDef
Brave nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Crunch
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Grass]

it might look weird for a t-tar to have SR,but that is my point,no one expect to have,so you will not worry about getting taunted, the lack of special atack evs is no concern, since hidden power grass alreasy 2hko swampert leads, also, you will only get 3hko by celebi grass knot, and you can 2hko back with crunch,EQ is for metagross leads, trust me,this guy already survived a critical hit from a azelf explosion,he is THAT bulk, you mighy also change what you want,if swampert is no problem change hidden power for stone edge, change leftovers for lum berry, but with no recovery grass knot from celebi might end up turning into a 2hko,i used this set in the past and it was very effective, the only problem was nape leads with close combat, but it cant be helped.

I would definitely changed Rotom-C to Rotom-H so that you can have a reliable SD Luke counter, who is a definite thorn for the team. I prefer the Choice Scarf set (with Overheat, Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, and Trick). That'll serve your team more effectively.

Thanks for all the comments, I tried out everyone's suggestions , but the ones shown above are the ones i am currently playing on shoddy with. The Tyranisword build is pretty good and worth using again, but i dont feel comfortable with it on this team. Actually about the X-Scissor thing on Scizor that was a typo 2 because i had been using QA for a while but then i switched to X-Scissor before making this RMT

AND THE WARRIORS R GONNA PWN THIS YEAR

:P
