TEAM AT A GLANCE:
_____________________________________________________________
Gengar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hypnosis
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
Gengar sets the tempo for the battle. I generally like to use Hypnosis only on slower things. I will switch out if its faster,as I don't want to tip my hand too much in the beginning of the battle. However if its a Weavile I CAN,WILL,AND MUST tip my hand. How does it matter becuase in the end their crippled. I don't use Focus Blast becuase it doesn't OHKO Tyranitar, and I'm considering dropping HP:Ice and going with Will-O-Wisp to cripple Physical attackers.
---
Gallade (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 64 HP/252 Atk/192 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Ice Punch
- Night Slash
The star of the show. Comes in mid-game generally on a support move and wreaks havoc. With an attack stat equivalent to that of a Heracross and that decent Sp.Def this guys not going down without a fight. I'm torn between Jolly/Adamant however. With Adamant I get a solid 50 points more of attack but with Jolly I can outspeed 252 Spd,no +Spd Lucarios. With Adamant I can 2HKO Cresslia guranteed with Night Slash without Stealth Rock. Whereas with Jolly Stealth Rock is a must to 2HKO Cresselia. I may also just forego Choice Band and run a Choice Scarf set with just enough speed for Weavile. Some help here please?
---
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 88 HP/140 Atk/148 Def/132 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
My own custom EV spread. 88 HP hits a leftovers recovery number. 140 attack gives its attacks a bit of a kick(unlike standra Bulky-Dos) after a Dragon Dance. 148 Defence is almost as bulky as 180 Defence, just took a little out of there to ensure that Porygon-Z's Download increases its Attack rather than its Sp.Attack when it switches in. And the speed is there for outspeeding 9Spd 252,Infernape after a Dragon Dance to avoid being killed by Thunder Punch.Stone Edge is here just for opposing Gyrados/Salamence. I'm considering using Ice Fang over Stone Edge however. But this really doesn't have to act as my main 'Chomp counter as my vapoeroen can switch-in after an SD survive and Ice Beam it to hell.
---
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 88 HP/252 Def/48 Spd/120 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Softboiled
- Aromatherapy
- Seismic Toss
- Ice Beam
My cleric. Heals the team with Aromatherapy, and is my usual switch-in for potential sleepers to scout their moveset. has Ice Beam to hurt Salamence's/Chomps on predicted switch-in's. Seismic Toss is for Raikou obviously.
---
Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Wish
Counter Vaporeon like Counter-Star,this guy is severely underated. Acts as my main Mix-Ape counter, its superb Sp.Def and Light weight allowing it to easily take even a Nasty plotted Infernape's Grass Knot,Surf is there for that naughty Monkey. Acts as my main 'Chomp Counter as staed above. And sends Gyarados to hell with its HP:Electric, and of course Wish for supporting the team, especially Gallade!
---
Forretress (M) @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP/100 Atk/162 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
Helps me out with my SD-Lucario/Weavile weakness. Switches into Weavile for free Spikes/SR and gets recovery form Vaporeon's Wish. EQ is there with the attack EVS for that annoying SD-Lucario,Spikes/SR help wear down the opposing team members just enough so that my gladiator and come in and take them out in a blaze of glory.
---
So Smogon rate my team!
